I'm just guessing the most people don't leave a review for the Dollar Tree. I am happy to make some comments about this particular location. It's Christmas time, and for most of us, it's a bit of a foot race. I was looking for a particular product for my daughter which she was having trouble finding. So I called ahead to the Carlsbad store to check for availability. The staff, Rachel in particular, was so accommodating. She took the time to run down the product ( Yay, they had it) and put it aside for me. The store was busy when I arrived, but help was on the way . A good place to buy Easter or Christmas candy when purchasing for lots of grandchildren or nieces and nephews. They carry a good variety of sweets which you can balance out with activities of reading or toys for the little ones. We found the original marshmallow peeps as well as new and unusual flavors and colors. I did not know there was a Dr. Pepper peeps before this past weekend. They of course have hollow and solid chocolate whether milk chocolate, dark or white as well as crispness or cookies and cream flavored east bunnies and other animals. There are various types and plastic eggs, Easter grass, brands of jelly beans and toys or tiny soft rabbits. Even junior mints got into the Easter act by making the shape as a flat egg and instead of the sweet white mint filling each egg either has blue, pink or green filling with the same original flavor. 1/16/23 @ 9AM was cashing out and the woman ringing me up decided to very rudely comment on my weight. "Wow is this why you're so skinny? All you're buying is Tuna packets?" Mind you, my purchase was for my husband, nonetheless what I purchase and why is also none of your business. As for why I'm skinny or how I continue to appear skinny should be no one's business either. Under no circumstances should your cashiers be commenting on people's bodies and weight, I might have let it go and walked away but there is people out there who seriously struggle with their body image and unnecessary/uncalled for comments about one's body should not be tolerated. Learn to keep your mouth shut and don't make comments about someone's body. You get paid to cash people out at a register, you're not getting paid to be nosy. I like coming here because you guessed it!! Everything is $1 well $1.25 now, still cheaper than the 99CT store which is $2.99 and up. I came here on Sunday and it was so packed. I don't mind the wait since I know they are always busy. Their selection is amazing, literally all the holidays are there. We grabbed some items and left. The cashier was nice. I absolutely love this Dollar Tree! This is the largest location I have ever been to! They also sell frozen foods and drinks, snacks, housewares and so much more! We took awhile to walk around at this huge location. We picked up a couple drinks and a few cleaning items. I literally could buy a lot of stuff here. I'm on a budget and just got the necessities. Greeting cards are 2 for $1.00! I buy my cards at Dollar Tree and snacks and drinks. I was glad to visit this location for the first time. I didn't come with expectations, so I could walk out with nice surprises! Hey it's Dollar Tree, ain't no target or Neiman Marcus, so the fact that the shelves are somewhat organized and people are not too weird, I'll give it 5 stars. The best bargains here are the greeting cards. There's a secondary line by hallmark that I didn't know of and their cards are sold here for 50 cents when the original price tag on the back says 2.49. It never makes sense to me to spend more than $3 on a card. Their card selection is huge and very organized. You'll find what you need here. Another bargain is the kitchen tools. A ladle for $1? Sign me up. Also you can't miss the 6 outlet socket converter. You turn your regular 2 outlet socket to 6 for $1. I can finally plug everything I need on one wall! Sorry I bought the last one they had that day and I'm going back to buy more. Then you also have lots of cheap party supplies and assorted helium balloons for $1 when Party City sells it for $2.99. $2 might not be a big difference, but that's 200% more profit for them right there. Today, as I was checking out, the lady in front of me was really rude to the cashier. The cashier was a lady with blond hair. One of the other employees mentioned that it was the cashier's fourth day on the job. I should have said something when the customer was bring mean and rude. I literally just went to this store, and the blonde haired, pale skinned female cashier with bright red lipstick was so incredibly rude to me, I am just in shock! She refused to give me my receipt & I had to reach behind the counter & rip it out & take it, myself. She also refused to give me the bag that I already paid for--which is behind the counter, so I couldn't even reach it. She refused to bag my things, too. I had to ask her repeatedly for a bag & had to bag my items, myself. If I were the manager of this store, this woman would have been FIRED ON THE SPOT!!!! I am 57 years old, and I have NEVER been treated this way by a cashier before! There is one other employee there, a Hispanic looking woman who is also always rude, but her rudeness is in not speaking back to you when you speak to her. At least she gives you a receipt, a bag, & bags your things. The other employees can be quite nice, but this one was SO BAD that I don't even want to shop there anymore! I hope she doesn't last long there, because this is the closest Dollar Tree to me, so I'll have to drive kind of far to go to another one instead. I am still in shock about how blatantly rude this woman was, and she was literally REFUSING to do her job!!!! I had been kind & friendly the entire time. I always come here to pick up wrapping paper, cards, party decorations - How much you say?....that's right ONE DOLLAR! You can't beat that. A few other businesses in this plaza include: Marshalls, Verizon, some Christian book store, Edible Arrangements, Olive Garden, Souplantaion, the Greek Corner Cafe....the list goes on. I will say, I feel like it takes forever to get out of this store. Possibly a little understaffed for the volume of customers that need help. read more

Since Dollar Tree increased prices 25% last year (earlier than press releases said), they have gotten less service-oriented, less customer-oriented, an unpleasant place to shop. This one will only bag your purchases if you pay for a bag. (Jerry even had gloves on, but did not offer to put things in my bag.) They leave carts with stock in the middle of aisles. Today, a clerk was stocking shelves, blocking the way for customers. When I said, "excuse me," she wouldn't move. You have more than 5 employees on the floor restocking things yet you can't get one of them to help make the line of 15+ people move faster. I'm gonna have to say I like this dollar tree the best out of the Oceanside locations. It's big, normally pretty clean and organized , they have a great selection of merchandise and re staff are generally pretty friendly. I like how have they have the flower rack outside it makes the store look welcoming but that's just a person preference probably. When you enter the carts are on the right. This is a great place to get birthday balloons heck birthday supplies in general they have a lot of stuff. They won't blow up the balloons in bags that they sell though :-( . Oh this location also sells ice. A big bag for only 1$ . They have pool toys , school supplies , craft stuff , food ( all kinds of basics) , cleaning stuff , home and kitchen stuff.
