She told me the curved French tip would be $10, but when I said I didn't like the curve, she said "that's the best I can do" and she'd just charge me $7 for a regular one instead. At checkout, she still charged me the full $10 anyway and said she did the curve disregarding what she said before. It's not even about the $3--it's the fact that she said one thing and did another. She also continuously tried to argue with me about it after the fact I paid. That kind of service just doesn't sit right with me. I wouldn't go back.

I observed that they are compliant with their hygienic practices, as the tools were freshly opened from their sanitary packaging right in front of us, and all surfaces were spotless. Towards the end I asked to add a service (eyebrow wax) and this is something that I usually do myself because of bad past experiences, but I was quite impressed by Lisa's skills. I have a very strong brow ridge and some of my eyebrows grow out in odd directions due to a scar and she had no trouble at all navigating all of that and leaving me with a shape that was very flattering to my face. I observed the way she pulled the wax strip opposite of the direction of growth, and in my experience that usually leads to bumps at the follicles, so that was my only concern.

Some technicians are hesitant to do that many coats, but this lady happily did it for me, I think I've gone to her twice now, and she's great. That said, there's one lady there who is always unpleasant. She constantly gives me mean looks and once did a rushed service for me, my nails and hand/foot massage were a total quickie, and I hated it. For some reason, she always gives me a stank face when I come in and stares me down. I don't hold back and stare back, but it's definitely uncomfortable. If I go in, I always call ahead to see if they have time, since I usually decide the day of. The last time I tried to go, they said they were fully booked. No worries, saved me the drive, so I went somewhere else that was able to take me in. While I was parking, Merry Nails called back to let me know their appointment had cancelled and asked if I wanted to come in. I couldn't since I was already at another place, but I appreciated that they called me back. Overall, the good technician makes me come back, but the rude staff member is a downside. The callback was a nice touch, though.

She is sweet, attentive, and truly makes you feel cared for. Tiffany invited me back for an acrylic full set, and when I say she did a spectacular job on my nails, I mean exactly that. The color is gorgeous, the shaping is flawless, and she was so gentle with my hands, my cuticles, and the entire service from start to finish. What really stood out to me was her attention to detail. She cleaned up my cuticle area beautifully without me even having to ask, and that meant a lot. So many people can do acrylics, but not everyone takes the time to do those little finishing touches that make a set look truly polished and luxurious. Tiffany absolutely does. She was also incredibly gracious and even refused to take a tip, which spoke volumes to me. I told her the same thing I firmly believe, when someone does beautiful work and gives you a lovely experience, their time is valuable too and they deserve to be appreciated. So, onward we go! After a long day of taking care of taking care of business, shopping, and day tripping, we decided that a little pampering was in order. So, I along with my wife and brother-in-law (a first timer)decided to get pedicures this afternoon and without a doubt, it was the best experience that I've had in a long while, and certainly for my brother-in-law, since her had never had a pedicure or manicure before! My wife and I previously had several manicures and pedicures done here while under the previous ownership of (Helen). And believe me, she did a good job! However, (Fong) the new owner/manager was one of the ladies working for Helen and she had always done my wife's hands. Upon becoming the new owner, Fong made changes that were business smart and customer friendly. Creating a warm friendly place for her customers to really enjoy their overall experience while getting their hands and feet pampered. It just seemed to be a high priority for her to establish a difference between her and the previous owner(s) of Ultra Nails! Usually nail salons have a distinct odor of chemicals, not here! Ultra Nails has gotten a face lift since Fong and Yen have taken over. With out a doubt, it is well maintained, well sanitation and overall cleanliness is a priority....simply put, the salon is "On Hit". Fong and Yen are both very experienced in their craft, and do a bang up job.... But Yen is the one to see regarding a pedicure. She'll do what needs to be done to ensure those cute little piggies are feeling great when you tip toe out the salon for that special event. Although they do accept walk-ins and our visit was a spontaneous event, we highly recommend making an appointment as prom season, and summer grow closer. She put on some old base coat on my nails, and when she applied my Essie nail polish, it was smeared uneven. After I told her that it must be that the two different brands must not work together, she seemed disturbed and started speaking Vietnamese to her fellow co workers and owner. The owner told me to bring my own base coat! WT? I thought that was rude! So I just told her to leave it as is, because I was running late. Well the last time I went my nails bubbled when I left, AGAIN they bubbled not sure why, but it has to be their old base and top coats! When I go to other nail places they never bubble. Another thing, I have natural nails, and they don't know how to shape them, leave them uneven and sharp at the edges, the lady gets annoyed when I tell her to even them out. UGH! Never again. Never had problems ever at other Nail salons.
