The effort of trying on clothes was a little too much for me, and I was delighted to find someone who would come to my house where I have plenty of room to move around and furniture that helps me try on clothes. Manuela came out and measured me for my trove of clothes, took them all off and returned them a week later. She was friendly and busnesslike, accommodating and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend this business and will continue to use them in the future, because I'm sure I'll need more alterations.

I expected better service and professionalism.

I took my wedding dress back in 2018 to them and they were able to alter my gown to perfection just within a couple of days. They did such a wonderful job that I kept going back anytime I needed my jeans or any minimal alterations needed on my clothes. This past month, I wanted to take birthday photos with a long train "flying dress" that I had bought online but I was not in love with the front design of the dress. I went to their heights location for advice and they were able to customize it with a beautiful halter neck cross cross for me. During that same visit, I took a black formal dress and another wedding dress to them because my husband and I wanted to re-do our wedding photos as well but the size of both dresses were too big for me. They were able to alter all of my dresses to perfection and in time before my trip. I loved how my dresses look in all the photos... Thank you so much!

When I arrived on Tuesday, he said it wasn't ready and asked me to wait another hour, so I did. The second issue was the price. When I dropped off the item on Thursday, we agreed on $30. He didn't write the price on the invoice, so I wrote "$30" on it myself to avoid any confusion. When I came to pick it up, he told me the price was $40. I showed him the invoice and reminded him that we had agreed on $30, but he still argued that I should pay $40. Reluctantly, he agreed to $30. Finally, when it was time to pay, he entered $33 into the credit card machine instead of $30. It may have been a credit card surcharge, but he never mentioned or explained it beforehand. He simply charged an extra $3 without telling me why. Between the missed pickup time, the disagreement over the agreed price, and the unexplained extra charge, I won't be returning.

The shop is clean, well-lit and has huge mirrors. There isn't much free parking nearby, but the short walk from street parking is manageable enough. The dress had lots of sequins and feathers, so I was anxious on how he would make the alterations, but I soon learned to trust his professionalism and the dress turned out absolutely gorgeous! It's worth noting that Andy specializes in alterations and tailoring and only does dry cleaning through a family connection as a side business. The shop is well lit, clean and has a large dressing room and mirrored wall for alternations. For dry cleaning, since this is not his main business, expect to wait about a week for pick up and to pay a little more. I dropped off my three items on a Thursday afternoon and left my cellphone number which Andy said that he would text when the items were ready. I never received a text so I waited a little over a week to pick up my items on the following Saturday afternoon. My items were ready when I got there and the dress that I dropped off with a few stains looked as good as new! I paid $7 an item which is definitely on the higher end but I was happy to see the quality of the work. Other notes - free parking is becoming increasingly scarce in Rice Village so be prepared to walk a few blocks during busier times of the day if you don't want to pay to park. Unfortunately no dedicated spots or lot.
