Now that I've been coming to Tremblay, I actually don't get nervous about having work done on my car anymore. I started coming here last year on the recommendation of 2 friends and some good reddit/yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. Had an overall check-up last year, got my timing belt and water pump replaced at 100k this fall, and another brake repair this spring. Just really happy with the service here. I've interacted with Jason and Brad (and one other guy I don't know the name of) and each time I called or came in with my car, they were friendly, kind and honest with me. I don't know a ton about cars (read: I know almost nothing) and all three guys are patient with me and answer my questions about basic car/wheel stuff. They've never tried to upsell me, which is awesome. Garages are not always comfortable place for people (especially women), but I feel really good coming here. Last thing - when I came in to pick up my car after a brake repair this spring, they'd washed my car and the inside even looked slightly cleaner than when I'd left it. Not to be overly dramatic, but I nearly cried I was so happy. I hate getting my car washed, and this was basically Christmas for me. Thanks guys! read more

Their next generation now operates the business and it is comforting to see that the professional and customer service ethic has been passed down from their fathers and uncles. Thank you Jason for fitting me in this afternoon, without an appointment, for confirming my concerns over the health of my battery & replacing it. Also, thanks for double checking tires air pressure because the low pressure warning dash light remained lit after I had already had the air pressure corrected. It's interesting that VW makes a car costing over $40,000 that includes warning lights for everything from low tire air pressure to when your next service is due but doesn't give you any advance warning that you may have a near dead battery - other than the auto door opening when near the fob failing to operate! Some of the high tech features of cars today are not as convenient as the manufacturers might think; push button start is stupid, I'd rather use a key and why don't the warning lights go out when the problem is fixed OR why not tell the owner how to turn them off, I resent having to go to a dealer and be subjected to some arrogant little jerk pretending to be more important than he is for pissy-ass little things like this. read more

While I am still cursing ICBC and their strict rules...I was happy with the service I received at Tremblay.. I had a small ding on my windshield of my brand new car..it happened like a week into having it on the road..ICBC decided that it was too big and to renew insurance I need it replaced....always an expensive experience with ICBC isn't it?? So off I went to Tremblay as it was supposed to be really good and affordable and was really convenient to where I lived..I dropped the car off over night and picked it up first thing in the morning...new windshield installed and my car vacuumed..which was an added bonus! The cost was a bit more them I wanted at over $600..but I am told that is pretty normal..the team there were very nice and efficient..I will defiantly use them in the future if I have any problems with my car! read more

This is such a great car repair place!!! Not "big business", run by the same family (currently by Brad). They charge fair market value and often do little things for free (our fan belt kept loosening, they would tighten it for us for free!). All tune-ups come with a car wash and an interior vacuum. I went looking for a good repair shop after my husband had to wait 6 hours at another shop for a quote on repairs to our 2000 Volkswagen Passat. Tremblay has a night drop off option where you can leave your keys and a note with what is wrong which was convenient for us since it can be hard to get around during the workday. Brad called me the next day after the mechanics had a chance to look at my car and assess what needed to be done. He was really thorough and clear in describing what work was needed and explained what was more important vs. less important (and could wait). He helped me pick out great tires based on our driving needs (which came with an $80/tire rebate from the manufacturer which was a bonus!). All-in-all I felt like I was in competent hands and received great service which seems rare these days! After a hefty $3,800 repair bill which put a dent in our wallet, we hope we won't be back soon but I am certainly happy I found Tremblay Motors. OK.So I'm starting these guys off with four stars because we are new customers of Tremblay and I am comparing them with Clarkdale. Our first encounter was excellent. Dead struts were replaced really fast with almost no notice on our part. Ya, it was pricey, but there were no surprises. They called to update me on their progress during the day. Tremblay Motors offers highly skilled service for all makes and models of cars - very modern and up to date - but they are an old school family business that delivers courteous, responsive and trustworthy service every time. I've taken my car in for repairs several times and always been treated with extraordinary professionalism and care: they are fast; their work is impeccable; and there are always little extras like topping up my oil and brake fluid, checking the air in my tires and yesterday even vacuuming the interior and polishing up the dash. Plus the convenience of being able to drop off your car at night and fill out a repair form, attach your keys and put it through a secure mailslot is unparalleled. Tremblay is established and busy enough that they could probably cut a few corners and still be very profitable, but that is just not who they are: integrity and quality obviously matter to them. In a world where the news is filled with stories of scams and shoddy labour, especially in the automotive industry, it is so refreshing to feel as confident as I do when I take my car to them - I hand over the keys and say "Do what you need to do," with absolutely no fear they will take advantage. I have an old rusted 2001 VW TDI Jetta with 330,000kms and it needed a new bushing to get rid of some clunking in the back. I found this shop from yelp and decided to go with them. Right from the first phone call to make my appointment, I was impressed. They were so friendly. Took my car in and got a call a few hours later. They informed me of the condition of my car underneath and that it needed done more work than I anticipated. I didn't want to spend more which I said my concern and they listened but explained to me in detail of what was going on. After some thought we worked out a deal. Got my car back a few days later and right away I was surprised. They had even cleaned my car fully! It was a mess I kind of felt bad because I wasn't expecting that. They were able to do the work and without more issues from rusted broken bolts or whatever. That's what I was worried about the entire time waiting. But they did it all and about two months later I'm still rocking and rolling with my old beast. Thank you to these great folks!! Then they even came up with a solution for an esthetic issue that multiple other auto shops hadn't been able to help me with - and didn't tack on any extra charge for it! These guys are so genuine and honest that I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else. The time it takes to get your car in for a service might be a bit longer than other spots in the neighborhood, but it's worth the wait to know your vehicle is being handled but a good, local family business that will be up front and honest with you about what work your car does and does not need. I took my car in recently knowing the tires will need to be replaced soon, expecting them to push it on me that servicing, but they gave me their opinion that I could get another several months out of them before buying new ones. An amazing experience beginning to end. I brought my vintage (70's) era car to Tremblay with the peace of mind that they have mechanics that have been working on vehicles like this since they were everyday drivers for most people and not rarities. The car was new to me and since I had plans to put 6000km on it this Summer I wanted to make sure any major issues could be resolved well ahead of time. Sam personally took the vehicle out on test drives with and without his mechanics before and after to isolate and confirm/alleviate any concerns I had about the car. As predicted I wound up getting the entire brake system replaced as well as some isolated portions of the suspension. I had very regular updates before, after and during the work via phone without having to chase anyone for information. All repairs came in on time and on budget. After that work had been done I noticed (independent of the tip top repairs which were made) that there was some vibration and noises coming from the rear of the vehicle at speeds past 80kms. Concerned I brought it back to Tremblay to try and isolate the issue. After some more test drives Sam got back to me and said he believed this repair in particular required some specialized work and directed me to the shop of a trusted associate. He personally called ahead and saw to it that I was able to intake my vehicle the same day. Those repairs went through and my ride could not be in better shape! In a very short amount of time I have come to trust Sam and his team of experts whether it is for hands on work or recommending service with other well vouched for shops that they have long standing relationships with. I will definitely continue to get my car serviced here for the forseeable future and send anyone I know that needs great service their way! read more

These guys at Tremblay Motors are awesome! Found my car battery dead this morning so called BCAA, and a guy came down within 10 minutes and replaced the battery on the spot. The BCAA guy -- Jorge -- was very thorough and pleasant, and informed me after checking my alternator, that I needed a new one badly. He recommended Tremblay Motors (a BCAA approved shop) and even "escorted" me there to make sure my car didn't have trouble on the way. When we got to Tremblay Motors, Jorge explained about the new car battery and the almost-dead alternator. Brad Tremblay said that he wasn't sure he could get it done today (Friday), but that he'd do his best and said he'd let me know in an hour or two. About an hour later Brad called and said that they'd gotten the parts they needed and that if I came by just before 5 p.m. the car should be ready. Sure enough, I got there are everything was done! It did cost me over $700 all in (alternator, belt, labor, tax, etc.) but the car is driving well, so I'm very pleased. Talk about great service!! I'll be recommending this place to everyone. Since my last visit to Tremblay Motors, I've learned that their prices are indeed fair. Sam and Brad take the time to explain what work your car needs as well as how critical/urgent it is. I scheduled an oil change and service and learned that there were three minor issues, so I decided to just have two things worked on for budgetary reasons, even though I was told that they could wait for the next service.
