I highly recommend this Aamco (Arbutus). I own a last generation Honda Prelude which is a much cherished gift from my family. Out of nowhere, my engine oil light went on and smoke was coming out of the hood. Aamco was mentioned to me as the place to go and I just charged over to Aamco. I didn't have an appointment (I don't recommend it) but I was terrified and had no idea what to do. Bryan at Aamco was a godsend. Even though they were completely booked up for the day, he offered to take a look at my car and saw that it was a very bad oil leak. He let me know it was serious and should be looked at right away so they were kind enough to rearrange their schedule to accommodate me. Fortunately it turned out to be fixable with a replacement of an o ring and oil filter which they did right away and were even able to give me the car back within the day. I have spoken to a number of people about this and was told that a bad oil leak can be a very serious problem, don't know the cause or if it is easily fixable or not, but it really is something that can't wait. I really couldn't be more grateful for them taking the matter seriously, for being so responsible, explaining to me what happened and being so dependable. Arbutus Aamco folks I found to b e professional, respectful, fair and honest.I had parked my car for a year and prior to that it had been off road for three years. I visited in person as am hard hearing. Met Alan who took time to hear my story despite the crazy busy pace I walked into at front desk. I had my car towed in the following week. Then they slow charged my battery for two nights as battery was problematic. They drained out 3 litres of excess oil that had been in my car for the year. Ok kids ready...two nights slow charge did you read that? My bill with taxes in was under $125. To keep my car for two nights to help me slow charge a battery then get billed 30 minutes labor only is something I have never experienced. The boys at Arbutus Aamco are great for female vehicle owners. Especially if like myself prior to Aamco I had very little trust. This is the first garage in years where I felt the honesty from the moment I walked in. And after getting my feedback on what they would do etc. I felt safe and so did my wallet. Vic and his entire staff are incredibly knowledgable, efficient, friendly, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Went in with an issue with my civic, they not only found the problem in a timely manner but fixed almost immediately to accommodate my schedule. They are incredibly thorough, and explain everything in layman's terms for those who require it. Noticed other issues that I didn't even go in for ie my brake lights were out, and this diligence really made me feel comfortable taking my vehicle there--they truly care. Car died again the following day, so I called Vic up, he took me in immediately and ran all of the diagnostics free of charge and even gave me a little tutorial regarding ways in which I had been operating my vehicle incorrectly. We have been taking our cars in to Aamco for many years now. Over the years, we, and later our four kids have taken more than 7 different cars into their shop, and never have we have cause for complaint. They always explain in detail what has to be done, and why. We have found them to be exceedingly accommodating, fair dealing, and pleasant to deal with. Always. We have recommended them unhesitatingly to all our friends when the subject of car repairs is raised we both chime in as to where to take their vehicles for service. I must say that it seems such a shame that as hard as one tries, that the old truism holds true, that you can't satisfy 'all the people, all the time'. read more

I've been here three times, and I trust these guys more than anyone with my car. After two visits with my old car and the first visit with my new car, I wanted to write a review. I'm not incredibly experiences, but I can handle my basics (fluids, oil changes, tires, etc.). Maybe that's why I know not to come here to complain about silly things that I can do myself if I have an extra thirty minutes. Most recently, I needed to get my brake rotors replaced, which is something I don't have the skills or the means to accomplish. I brought it in first thing in the morning one day and they were done with it by that evening. Absolutely amazing guys. read more

Again I would like to thank the team at AAMCO Vancouver, BC. The car has been shifting flawlessly since you replaced the clutch and other associated parts. As you know, I was previous fighting clutch disengagement problems down in the States for quite a while. The attentiveness, professionalism and expertise of the team is a reflection of the owner. Losing a clutch a long way from home can be a harrowing experience. Any fear of this happeming was quickly dissipated after your quick diagnosis and repair. Been using Aamco to service my 20-year-old Mercedes S.U.V. I find them, quick, organised, honest and professional. Just got an synthetic oil change, and a 144 point inspection. I figured with a 20 year old car, I'd get a long list of stuff that needed fixing. They added a cup of windshield wiper fluid and told me the car needed nothing. Respect. I like this company. p.s. I'm glad I don't own a public-facing company in 2021. There are Yelp reviewers complaining that the oil - in an oil change - wasn't free. read more

I wrote a negative review about Aamco in general (not this location) As an organization Aamco does nothing if you have a complaint, they allow their franchisees to get away with anything.......Be warned!!!... My review was removed because they say it was not this location where it happened(it was not) .... That should not matter, Aamco is Aamco, just like McDonalds is Mcdonalds, Sears is Sears and Canadian Tire is Canadian Tire.... Unlike my last place, these guys recommend parts replacement based on their condition, NOT the manufacturer's (aggressive) schedule. I once brought in my car because my brakes felt a little sticky, expecting to be told that I needed new pads, and they said nope, pads are fine. And they can usually get me in within a week or so.
