Bought a new tire and tube. Daniel put those in and helped me with a lot of questions. Glad to find this place.

I'll be honest, because of the prices I was very reluctant to spend money here. As a matter of…read morefact, I walked out of that store years ago after perusing a few bikes. I'm glad I came back! I walked in awhile back and dropped off a Shwinn hybrid. Ben did a "tune-up" on it for me. Did 50 miles at Little Miami Scenic Trail with that bike. Damn near killed me. After seeing so many other "real" bikers pass me with ease I made up my mind. My first bike was a Cannondale Synapse. I wasn't too happy with that bike. Went back two weeks later and upgraded to a Specialized Tarmac. Yeah. I went from a $299 Wal-mart hybrid to a $2,100 professional road bike. I see and feel where that money goes. Huge difference. Ben was great at helping me understand what I was getting into and never once pressured me into buying anything. He actually turned me away from a $2,800 bike! It took some time to get use to these bikes. I had pain in my back, knees, butt, neck and wrists. I tried to be cheap and that was a mistake on my part. I got smart and bought biker shorts, shirts and gloves. After just a few weeks of riding and getting my posture correct my body started to adjust. Ben gave me pointers on how to sit in the saddle and a few other little tricks to help. I came in at least once a week and not once did anyone mind me there asking questions. It wasn't long before I started riding like a pro. Best upgrade was purchasing Specialized shoes and clips. I took Ben's recommendations and it paid off. My speed and endurance really enhanced. I was able to do a century on Little Miami Scenic trail. Understand, it takes time, patience and commitment. If anyone is trying to recommend you something, it's because they know you will not enjoy your experience if you lack the proper accessories. It's a serious sport! I've compared their prices to competitors both online and brick and mortar. They are on point with their prices.

They $65 a month later the barrels lost grip and now I still have to get new barrels put on the brake lines. I'm done with Montgomery Cyclery and will take my business to Resor Bicycle in Newport on Monmouth Street and no longer worry about what I as and pay for!!!

Pros of Cincinnati Red Bikes is they have good locations and also numerous locations to rent a…read morebike.. For the most part ebikes were charged and in working condition. Cons, getting a working touch screen was challenging. On Memorial Day!! no one was available to help. If you are riding solo, not such a big deal. I had my 3 grand daughters with me. The chaos trying to get 4 bikes was so irritating they wanted to just ride back home and quit rather than go through this every couple of hours. Permanently setting e-bikes to Turbo in a city with lots of traffic is insane. I have bad knees for walking but with e-bike assist it is much easier to be mobile. I was very disappointed in my week of biking with my grand daughters.

Red Bike is a great way to get around Cincy. If you live here, for me at least, the daily rates…read moreseem too high. However, the yearly membership? Perfect. It's $100 per year for unlimited one hour bike rides (Honestly, i typically only use them for transit and have never had one out longer than 20ish minutes at a time (It's shocking how quick it is to get around on a bike in the city). I live in Covington and will grab one in Mainstrasse and can be downtown in nearly the same amount of time it takes to drive and find parking for a car. I really love their electric bikes as well. Though be warned, once you've taken out one of the electric bikes you will be spoiled. Sometimes the batteries will be dead on them so be sure to check the battery life before you take it out. Be careful when riding, especially over streetcar tracks. Your wheel falling in the track WILL result with you on the ground (self-proven). I do wish there were more stations in NKY in residential areas. Overall, I love Redbike and can't wait for warmer weather to ride again more!

I feel like I need to preface this entry with saying that Brett Hungerford, the owner of Element…read moreCycles, is a friend/client of mine. That being said, we didn't become friends until I visited his shop for the first time and was blown away by the amazing difference in this bike shop. I've been a cyclist & triathlete for about 6-7 years and have always been disappointed at the shitty, egotistical service/attitude of the bike shops around town. Okay, I may be someone who can't afford the best bike (and a woman at that!) but I'm an athlete and more importantly a customer so give some respect already. Brett's service & attitude is totally different. He cares about what you need, not about selling you something. If fact, he prides himself on helping you find whatever you need even if it's not at his shop. He is also interested in making the city a better bike community and not just for the elite cyclist. He and his wife, Kristen put their hearts into this business. The shop is clean & chic. The prices are competitive and he has is certified in retul fitting (http://www.retul.com/) which is sweet. Hands down best bike shop in town.

I thought I had reviewed Element here, but I guess I did not. I am a moderate cyclist ~ I mostly…read moreride on the weekends, on bike trails (ie I don't commute, ride in the road, or cycle that fast - it's strictly a hobby.) Therefore, I'll likely never *need* one of the beautiful high end bikes Element sells. But, last summer, my big-box retail store-purchased Schwinn kept losing air in the back tire, and the brakes seemed wonky. Knowing avid cyclists who swear by this place, I took my bike in, hoping not to be told to get that POS out of the shop. My experience couldn't have been better! The staff held the door open for me, asked lots of questions about what problems I was experiencing, and went over what they were going to do. Two days later, my bike was ready to be picked up. The repairs were incredibly reasonable - only a little bit more than the cost of a new inner tube at the big box store. The owner was there when I picked my bike up, and he explained everything he checked and fixed, asked if I needed help getting my bike out of the store/racked onto my vehicle, and thanked me for coming in. Net, if my Schwinn has any more issues, I'll be back. And if I ever decide to get a fancy bike, this is where I will go!
