This store analyzed the problems quickly, and got me back on the road. Also, I've been trying to get a saddle that would work for me for months. This store adjusted my seat height instead, and saved me hundreds of of dollars. Also suggested replacing shoes with clips with shoes without clips. Good, helpful suggestions. What a difference! Service is quick - they really do have a 24 hour turn around. The quality of service is just OK. I had paid to have my derailleur adjusted and it doesn't really seem like any adjustments were done, as it still skips. I question the attention to detail as when I got the bike back - the rear shifter didn't shift, turns out I needed to update the firmware, which is fine. - How does done one test derailleur adjustments if the shifter was out of commission (needed a firmware upgrade) the whole time. read more

We were searching for an e-bike, and had narrowed it down to a couple of brands. Without mentioning names, other bike shops were not knowledgeable about e-bikes, could not answer basic questions, and could not explain the $450 tax credit. They did not listen to our requirements, and very little inventory to look at. Enter the new TREK store in Boulder. Bright, tons of inventory, and an amazing sales person named Amy. She immediately started asking lots of questions about my biking skills and anticipated riding plans. She explained the features of a few options, and loaned us helmets for a test drive. She didn't steer us to the most expensive, but instead recommended a model on sale from last year. She clearly was knowledgeable about biking from personal experience, and we trusted her recommendations. And, she was very hands on, even helping to load the new bike into the car. I flew in from Boston with my Fuel EX-e, and the post office lost the battery I had mailed separately (airlines don't allow you to fly with batteries that big). Nobody rents out those batteries so I expected I was hosed. I called up Trek Boulder and spoke to Devon who was extremely sympathetic, pulled a battery out of their rental fleet, let me borrow it for three days, and wouldn't even let me pay for it! I didn't get the sort of advice for my tire problem that I did from two other places I frequent. But I checked here as it is close and we have used this shop location in the past for fixing flats and occasional generic purchases. But that was 2 ownerships and names ago. However, most of the staff was busy selling bikes to new CU students and setting up service orders. They sure had a large stock of bikes but their recommendation for me did not seem logical or in agreement with other places. Great service across the board. If you want to purchase your first bike or upgrade to a better road/gravel/mountain bike this is the place. Their service is impeccable. If its a minor repair they take care of it immediately. My wife had a large nail in her tubeless tire. Since the bike was only a few weeks old they replaced the tire for free. Excellent experience purchasing three new bikes at the Trek store. I called the day before and spoke to Clayton who let me know what we were looking for was in stock (a very rare thing during Covid!). Next morning we hurried over. Alex was a great sales person and got us all taken care of. Two new mountain bikes and our 2-year old got her first bike! Mtn bikes have been impossible to get a hold of due to production delays, shipping issues from Asia and the covid cycling boom. So glad we got everything! read more

I bought my bike from here 3 years ago, and have had decent service since... no real problems... not exceptional either. Came in today looking for a new bike for my gf, and the staff was pretty off putting.. like they were too busy standing behind the register (3 people), and had zero interest answering our questions. I understand it's covid, and low stock of everything. And they prolly get the same questions a million times a day... All of the questions they actually answered were completely false, after calling other trek stores. It felt like they thought they were doing us a favor by gracing us with their rude and uniformed answers. So we went to 3 other bike shops in town, and that's when I decided to write this review. The other shops were all friendly, answered questions well, and we bought a bike at one of the others. I'm done with this shop, they've always had an attitude, sorry I'm not an extreme bike expert... which is why I want and pay YOU to fix things. If it weren't for covid I'd give this place 1 star, everyone has a bad day, we are all burnt out... but mayyyybe get another job that doesn't have customer interaction? I signed up to rent a gravel bike from Trek Bikes Boulder for the two days that I would be in Boulder (Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend) on the Trek.com website, which stated that the bike shop would be open both days. When I arrived at the shop, there was a sign on the door stating that the store would be closed on Memorial Day. I stated that I had to leave Boulder Monday evening and was offered the possibility to return the bike to another Trek store on Tuesday morning. I thought that this might work, but the store manager (Amy) gave me her cell phone number in case I was unable to arrange this. Indeed, I was unable to make this work, so I called Amy on Monday afternoon, who offered to come pick up the bike from the hotel where I was staying. Incredible service far beyond my expectations - will definitely come back to Trek Bicycle Boulder when I return. read more

I brought my old 2017 Trek Slash in (that i have a sentimental attachment to) to this Trek store and James, a bike mechanic at Trek Bikes Boulder, was all about helping us to get my bike back in service. It was obvious that his primary concern was that he was able to get the issue resolved so that we could get back on the bike as soon as possible. This is the kind of service that makes me want to come back to this place over and over again for anything bike related because I know that if I need help with my bike....that the people here at this Trek store will help. Bought a bike here 2 weeks ago; had tires switched to tubeless at purchase time. 2 days later had to return to the shop as one of the tires was not holding air -- at all. Got that redone. Less than two weeks later, back break (hydraulic) completely failed. This is a brand new $1,700 bike. The break part is out of stock in the Golden store and no ETA as to when this will be fixed. No repair appointments are accepted at Golden location. Two weeks after buying a brand new bike - and it is not ridable and is falling apart. Defective. read more

Disappointed to be writing this review. I bought my bike here a year ago, and that was great. Awesome process. And when you buy a bike, it comes with a voucher for a free level 1 tune. Awesome. So last week, I dropped my bike off cashing in that voucher and just picked it back up today. My pivots were noticeably loose (a dangerous detail to overlook) my bike was absolutely filthy (a bike clean is part of the package), and I was charged $15 for a rotor true when brake alignment is also listed as included. Really really disappointed with the service. I usually work on my bike myself and resort to bike shops when there's a service I need that requires specialized tools that I don't have, but after this, I'll bring my bike somewhere else for those higher ticket labor services. read more

Did a full tune-up for my road bike. They didn't call when completing the work (as they said they would) so I picked it up the next day instead of by COB as promised. When I got it back the rear brake squealed like crazy, the power meter didn't calibrate in the normal range (usually a problem with incorrect tensioning) and worst of all the day after pickup on a 200 mile ride (grand loop) the rear derailleur shifted into the spokes and hanger plus derailleur was destroyed, I was in Winter Park and had to get a lift back to Boulder. The shop didn't take responsibility but did replace the parts at cost which I elected to downgrade from red to force to save money because it was going to be about $300 to get it fixed. They also fixed the rear brake and the power meter correctly calibrates again. An employee basically accused me of incorrectly handling my bike and bending the derailleur in the 24 hours I'd had it back, seemed a little far fetched to me as I ride a lot and also race and have always done my own maintenance so I know how to treat my bike with respect (and not put it down on the derailleur). If I didn't then I'd have gone through a lot of derailleurs by now. Overall disappointing experience, first that the $300 tune-up was not flawless and second that they wouldn't take responsibility for the very high probability that the shifting into the spokes was caused by misadjusting the rear derailleur during the tune-up. Of course I can't prove they caused the failure since everything was destroyed, but every mechanic I've talked to (I had 2 hours to kill in Winter Park trying to find a way to get the bike rideable) said that if that happened in their shop they would fix it and eat the cost. I'll be going to another shop for my tune-ups from now on. If you do use this shop, I highly recommend a circle around the parking lot at pickup to make sure they really got it adjusted right. read more

Went in to fix a broken axel. I was told it would cost the same to replace the entire wheel, which would cost around $50-$60. This seems ridiculous considering I could have bought an axel on amazon for $10-$20. Unfortunately I decided to leave my bike there so they could replace the wheel. When I picked up my bike, they had fixed other minor issues unrelated to the wheel that I had not asked to be fixed, and charged me $90. I'm a college student so $90 really hurts, especially when you were quoted at $50-$60. They did a fine job repairing my bike, but the fact that they did extra work on my bike without my permission in order to charge me more money is pretty sleazy. There are other bike shops in Boulder that won't lie to you, don't go here. read more

Took my bike in to fix a flat front tire. Everyone was super nice and friendly. When I got home, I found that it was flat again. I called them and they said to bring it back in and they would take care of me. This bike store is exceptional! I just purchased my third bike through the Boulder Trek store and I highly recommend them. I already had an enduro style bike and needed something that was more of a cross country bike. I was all over the board from light enduro to gravel bike and didn't really know what I wanted. The staff there let me demo all the bikes I was interested in and they really took the time to listen to what I liked and disliked about each bike and used my input to narrow down my selection. They patiently let me work through my indecision over a period of multiple months and throughout all the craziness of COVID-19. They kept me notified of when bikes I had shown interest in where back in stock and even allowed my to cancel an order on a bike I was unsure about after it had arrived at their store. In the end Chris and Nic pointed my to a Trek Top Fuel 9.8 and I could not be happier. This bike is exactly what I needed and honestly I would have overlooked it if they had not listened to my input and pointed me to that bike. The thing that really struck me about this shop is that they are not concerned with making a quick sale or trying to move excess inventory, they really care that each rider is matched with the right bike and they are willing to put in the time and do the work to make sure that pairing happens. read more
