We recently completed a full solar + battery installation with Treepublic, and overall it was a great experience from start to finish. We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. Installation itself was clean and professional. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. We also appreciated how they handled the more complex parts of the project, including battery integration and working with LADWP for interconnection and net metering. That process can get confusing, but they helped guide it through to completion. System has been up and running smoothly, and we're already seeing the benefits in terms of reduced grid usage and better control over our energy. Updating my review as of June 2026. To Treepublic's credit, they recently reimbursed $707.85 in sales tax that we first brought to their attention in December 2025. Apparently there was "an error in a QuickBooks template," and we appreciate that correction. However, our project remains unresolved. One remaining issue involves a SoCalGas incentive of $3,569.25 (SGIP Project ID #SCG-SGIP-2024-5470). Since September 2024, we have repeatedly asked Treepublic to answer a small number of straightforward questions regarding this SGIP application and its cancellation history. Rather than summarize the matter here, I have attached a three-page timeline compiled from Treepublic's own emails and records. I just wrapped up a fairly extensive solar + battery project with Treepublic in the Conejo Valley and could not be happier with their team. While projects of this scale almost always have hiccups, Omar and his team were communicative with me throughout the entire process and delivered on what they said they would. My project was completed prior to the year end cutoff for the federal tax credit, and I know his guys were slammed with any customers trying to finish during the same period. I had a disappointing experience with Treepublic that I feel others should know about. I reached out to them to expand my existing solar system (with a Franklin battery) after a recommendation from Franklin Battery System. Unfortunately, the surveyor they sent had clearly never encountered a Franklin system before. He even refused to inspect the equipment boxes properly, insisting I do his job. On top of that, he asked my wife to contact Sunnova--the original solar installer--rather than examine the roof panels himself. Following this disappointing site visit, I lost confidence in Treepublic and asked management to cancel our contract. Months later, I received a check refunding my deposit minus the cost of the inspection (per the memo line) with no apology, follow-up call, or explanation. Key concerns: The surveyor lacked knowledge of Franklin systems--a red flag for a "professional" solar company. I had to handle the inspection tasks myself, which is unacceptable. Cancellation occurred only after I asked, and their response consisted of a lone check--no communication, no closure. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Treepublic. Their lack of expertise and follow-through tarnished what could have been a smooth expansion process. read more

This is an update to my original review which was based on mostly the battery installation experience. Post battery installation and subsequent issues with app configuration and redo to include a whole house backup, the company made good on ensuring that the battery system and app were working correctly. I called the Franklin support and they told me the battery controller wasn't set up correctly; but ultimately it turned out to be a Franklin issue not Treepublic issue. I received a personal call and apology from the CEO and he assured me that their customer support and service was indeed very customer focused. He fell on his sword for initially missing the whole house setup and furthermore brought in a dedicated rep to handle my rebate which ultimately came. It all comes down to communication and mutual respect and taking care of the client which Treepublic did. Their sales rep was consistently in touch and worked diligently to ensure that my experience, even if somewhat rocky in the beginning, had a good and satisfactory outcome. read more

We had a terrific experience with Treepublic, doing a slightly complicated expansion of our existing solar system. The whole team was responsive and explained all our options clearly, and they got the system installed on time (very important to qualify us for federal tax credits before they expired at the end of 2025). When the panels they'd put in the proposal were out of stock, they used slightly better panels at no extra cost. They have continued to check in to monitor and ensure the system is working well, and even checked our bills and recommended switching to a different billing plan within LADWP to save us more money. Treepublic installed my solar panels May 2023. Very professional installation with quality components. System has been working well generating plenty of power without any issues. This past December 2025, we had torrential rainstorms around the holidays like we have not seen in along time. Unfortunately a leak occurred in one of our upstairs bedrooms. The drywall ceiling actually separated and water was pouring in. I contacted Treepublic to have someone inspect the leak. They were swamped with work, but Omar did get back to me. Carlos and Gomez worked on inspecting and repairing the leak in and around the solar panels. It was difficult to say if the solar panels caused the leak, but Treepublic did not hesitate to fix the problem. A real test of the repairs was last week when we had three days of heavy rain. I just had a 20kW solar system installed by treepublic. This includes two Enphase E10 batteries (20kW storage) which is what really makes this system special. The Enphase System Controller 2 (transfer switch) forms a microgrid which can operate completely independently of the utility. If power goes out, the sun can power the house and charge the batteries at the same time, and the controller has precise realtime management over the power output of each microinverter installed under every solar panel, making it extremely efficient (a feature not available with other brands). This was a custom install with the REC400AA solar panels completely hidden from street view on the flat part of the roof, with the first row reverse-tilted south, and with the backup loads electrical subpanel matching my Cutler Hammer CH series main panel. What I was most impressed with treepublic's work was the beautiful attention to detail for the electrical installation. All the people involved with the electrical aspect are masters at designing the equipment interconnections, nicely bending conduits, choosing the ideal connector accessories, and doing everything properly according to code, while making everything tidy and neat looking on the wall. I am especially pleased about this because this is the part I was most nervous about going into the project (if a contractor messes up the electrical, it can cause endless nightmares down the road). No such worries with this install. The E10 batteries are awesome because they have LFP chemistry which is more durable and safer than the old style NMC lithium batteries, and the better safety allows more mounting options. In my case I chose to have them mounted up high on the wall where they are shaded by the roof eave. Sales engineer Vladimir was great at helping me design the solar panel layout to maximize every inch of space on the flat roof while complying with the fire code setbacks. The owner, Omar, personally got involved in a lot of the design as well, especially in the later stages of the project. He told me the story about how he first grew his business by designing the solar system at his own house, along with a rainwater capture system, and offering his services to neighbors, so he has a genuine passion for harnessing what nature provides. Based on my experience I highly recommend getting a treepublic battery system for getting the most out of Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plans, eventual changes to net metering policies, and for some independence from future California blackouts with increasing strain on our electric grid. read more

I posted this review for their Hawthorn location already without realizing that the Bel Air location was the office I actually worked with. I'm the kind of person who researches for months and months before taking on a major project. I knew I wanted solar panels on my house but they deliberately make it beyond confusing to figure out. Renting, leasing, financing, reselling -- it's beyond confusing. Then, once you think you figure it out, you try to research different companies for bids and they have multiple websites and names, it's a total mess. Then I found Treepublic. Here's what's amazing about them. First of all, they don't subcontract their jobs. So when you hire Treepublic, you get employees from Treepublic handling every aspect of your install. As you'll see in other companies' reviews, some places subcontract out their installers and then if something goes wrong they just blame the other company and both keep pointing fingers at each other. No one takes responsibility and you're left holding the bag. You don't want that to happen to your home. Also, I knew Treepublic was a solid company because I also needed a roofer to prep our roof before the install and they recommended James Robertson, THE BEST ROOFER in LA, who, by the way, had nothing but nice things to say about Treepublic. I know he's the best roofer in LA because he's been a professional roofer for like 40 years was the only professional who could fix a gnarly roof leak at my house, when three roofers before him could do nothing at all. So, Treepublic is a very solid company. All of their employees are ON STAFF which means no sketchy subcontractors showing up at your house and leaving garbage or doing bad work. The Treepublic folks are super professional. And when they do recommend a subcontractor, they recommend the best guy in town. NOW PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PART -- PRICE. When I was getting bids, I got all sorts of crazy stories from companies claiming to be Tesla, only they're not Tesla. Saying they're offering kickbacks only they're not. One bid was $30,000 higher than everyone else and the guy justified this by saying all of his competition are criminals and to only trust him. BTW, if a vendor accuses his competition of being criminal, that vendor is the criminal. Projection. Treepublic's pricing was super straightforward, and extremely competitive. Their sales rep Simon, the most patient man in the universe, really knows his stuff and was incredibly easy to deal with. Keep in mind, I was talking to him for over a year while I researched and comparison shopped his competition. Regardless, he was always super patient and professional with me. Omar, the man who runs the company is a totally straight up guy and extremely trustworthy. Just read the other reviews. Obviously, if you're already one here, before you hire a company, you probably read their Yelp reviews. There is some super sketchy stuff going on out there with some other solar companies operating under more than one name or selling you a product that won't save you money at all. Treepublic is Treepublic. No bait and switch. Nothing sketchy and real staff employees who are there for the long haul. The day after the new solar meter was installed, I went outside to watch it running backwards. I do that every day now. Since installing solar panels, my electric bill dropped 90%. It went from $650 to $65. And that's in the winter. Plus, I know I got top-of-the-line equipment at a great price from Treepublic, which makes the monthly savings even sweeter. Any time I have a question even now, I reach out to Simon or Omar and they always get back to me. Fast. This is a trustworthy company with fair pricing, professional employees and an excellent reputation for a reason. Trust me, I spent a year researching this stuff. I've already referred two friends who purchased solar arrays from Treepublic, and I've told told more friends about the company as well. Ask the right questions. Do the research.
