I've found Ian Scott, who is the owner and principal point of contact, to be courteous, prompt and professional. Jobs with him always start with a site visit, where he looks over the work that needs to be done, makes suggestions, offers advice, and ultimately provides an estimate for the work that needs to be done. His estimates are always accurate (I've never had one go over), and his team is thorough in the work they do. They do all manner of tree work, including removal (including large trees), thinning, even sculpting and trimming. His team is also trained to scale large trees with climbing equipment, so they can thin and trim even in very tallest of trees. I will continue to use Urban Arborist into the future, and highly recommend this local business.

It was sad as it had given us 17 years of beautiful blossoms and plums, but we didn't want it falling on anyone and knew it had to go. My hubs Marcus called Ballard Tree Service for an assessment and they came out quickly. They handled the tree removal permits with the city and we were able to book a removal date a few weeks later. Jake the arborist and his two crew members did a fantastic job removing our tree! They had to remove it carefully while not disturbing the neighbors' maple trees and other plants that were very close to it. They were prompt, friendly, and efficient. They thought it might take three hours but it took them only about 1.5 hours. They also asked if we wanted any of the tree for firewood or projects. We said no, so they took away all the branches, trunk pieces, and debris. We were pleased with how the whole removal process went. A few days later, the office contacted Marcus to see if it went well and if we had any feedback or requests for them before they sent us an invoice. Great customer service! Plant Amnesty only recommends people who are ISA Certified in tree pruning and actively concerned about tree welfare (something about not topping trees?). We have three massive Big Leaf maple trees on our property on a steep hill. Apical Tree Services came by and provided an estimate for our trees to clean-out the deadwood and clear the lower branches that were too close to the sidewalk. They were very conscious of the privacy that we want to maintain with the tree branches. They worked for quite a few hours with a guy crazy high in our trees cutting out the deadwood, and a man below (who had set up cones to keep passerbys from getting hurt) who would send the branches through a large wood chipper. They cleaned out a ton of dead wood, and the trees looked fantastic and healthy afterwards. The guy (maybe Andrew?) also walked around the trees with me afterward to explain the health of my trees, and a few problems that I should keep my eye on in the next 5-10 years. Professional and I would totally work with them again!
