Its been awhile since I have been to Tre Kronor, but this is a hidden gem not far from my house! This is a true Swedish icon in the neighborhood that is full of hygge and fun. I happened to go on a pretty grey and cool Sunday morning so the theme really played out! I actually wasn't very hungry so I just wanted some pastries. I remember this place having good pastries and I was right! All of them were excellent. My mom got two and I got two. While they seemed pretty steep for $5+, they were fresh and filling. The only problem was that the cinnamon roll, something my mom ordered, had raisins in it. My mom is allergic to raisins, but we caught it before she ate it. We forgot to ask so its partially on us, but it was a disappointment to her because it looked so good. There were also so few raisins in there which makes me wonder why even bother. Either way, it was excellent. My favorite was actually the cardamom bread which had a great hint of sweetness, but wasn't overly sugary. My dad got the hash which he really liked with ketchup. Nice and crunchy as well which is a little different. If I was to say there were any drawbacks, I think the prices are a little higher for what you get size wise, but all the food was pretty spectacular. Also, this place doesn't do reservations so there might be a long line for a table. They don't really hurry anybody out which is great if you want to take in the hygge vibe, but is scary if you are the one waiting for a table. They do run a store across the street which is pretty cool and a good time waster while waiting. Will I be back? Of course! The onion soup sounds interesting so I might come especially for that!

Tre Kronor is a longstanding neighborhood gem in Albany Park. We always go for breakfast. All the food is always fresh and tasty, with options to suit both sweet and savory preferences. A great spot for a yummy breakfast and to catch up with family and friends. Service is always friendly! Tak for the consistently enjoyable experience.

Tre Kronor is my personal hidden gem of the Chicagoland area! The dining room is bright and fills with the most perfect light in the morning. It truly feels like you're in a quaint B&B when you dine here. The service is top notch. We have always been seated quickly and served promptly. Your coffee mug will never run empty! I personally love the Anders Hash. It is the perfect amount of food and cooked to crispy perfection. I have also tried many of their quiches and have enjoyed them all! If you are looking for somewhere to treat yourself or a loved one to a beautiful, slow paced morning, Tre Kronor is the best place to start.

Thank you for the welcoming service! It's very cozy inside, that being said they were very helpful when we walked in with our toddler and infant stroller. The food is amazing. I highly recommend adding this to your stop in North Park.

A few years have gone by since I've been to Tre Kroner. Still quant and nice. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll had a lemon glaze and raisins inside of it. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting but taking into account it is a Swedish restaurant I enjoyed it. I have to remember I am eating American/Swedish food. The corned beef hash and eggs were delicious. I enjoyed smearing my toast with the Apple Jam at the table. They serve more Swedish style sausages here and other types of food. Since I don't eat pork, I couldn't partake, but I always find something when I come in. The restaurant is quaint and still very homely. The service wasn't too bad either. I always enjoy my trips to Tre Kroner.

Belgian Waffle

We went recently to eat during their lunch hour. I got myself the Belgian waffle. The waffle was okay, wish it came while it was nice and crisp. The fruit were good and went well with the waffle. I wish they gave me my own syrup but instead I had to reach over to get a family member's syrup that came with their meal. The service was great she was very attentive with us and made sure we got what we needed or wanted. The ambiance is great! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch and breakfast menu is a bit limited items wise.

Found a new favorite breakfast place! Chicago is known to have a history with Swedish American population . Right next to North Park University is Tre Kronor, which very beautifully prepared Scandinavian dishes. Really digged the Anders Hash I had. Very tasty! Great service and a very cozy space that was great for a winter day! #swedish #scandanavian

This breakfast spot has a somewhat limited menu, but the food was good. I had the Vanilla & Orange French Toast, and my husband had Two Eggs, with Fried Potatoes, and Toast. Menu items are pretty straightforward but nicely executed. I'd love to see better coffee options though.

Highlight: Best hollandaise sauce I have had in a long time! Cozy warm little restaurant. We went for brunch and were seated right away in the busy main dining room. We ordered swedish pancakes to share as a group. I felt they were good and I liked the ligonberry jam as it added a unique tart flavor. They were thin and authentic of European pancakes. I ordered the eggs Benedict with spinach and found it very tasty! The hollandaise really made this meal above and beyond the rest was good. Service was good! They come around a lot to give coffee and water.

Very reasonably priced and perfectly portioned brunch plates (not too much, not too little). We tried two danishes, hash and eggs, orange French toast, house sausage, swedish meatballs and ice coffee. Everything was well prepared, flavorful and bright! The food was not heavy and was a total delightful way to start the day. The coffee was a bit more burnt than I like, but that's a personal preference. Service was super friendly and attentive! Decor is very cute and reminds me of a small town in Europe. I can see why this place is a neighborhood gem and why people would travel all the way from the suburbs to dine here.

It's located opposite of the cash register and menu. Service was friendly. Washroom (restroom, bathroom search terms) available. Decent amount of seating, serving as a solid space to study or get work done. Black Sesame Matcha Latte - while the black sesame graininess settled at the bottom expectedly, the matcha was clearly whisked well. There were no clumps of bitterness to be found. Despite sugar adjustments, this was still very sweet so I'd classify the spot as more desserty rather than strong matcha or a cafe. Though I'm happy to be proven wrong with their regular matcha in the future.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.

The taiwanese style popcorn chicken and pork cutlet were super juicy and tender with nicely crisp breading. Finally, the broth of the Sichuan noodles was packing with flavor: sweet, tangy, spicy, umami - truly hit all the spots without being too numbing to your mouth, if thats one of your concerns Would definitely return to try the other menu items, especially their hot sizzling plates and their dessert/drink offerings

Are you guys ready for this review??…read more So my partner decided we are going to china town for lunch with his mom and sister. Family day in the city, DURING A SNOWSTORM!! We arrive, place is closed, will open in 10 mins. Perfect, we go to a near by shop and I spot some demon hunter Stanley cups!! I get them of course! We head to lunch, everything is great! As we are heading out, my partners sister spots Te'amo! I ask if she's ever had mochi donuts. She hasn't, so of course we must stop in because everyone needs to try them at least once!!! We order at the kiask and patiently wait for our order. We get our order and leave....leaving the bag with the Stanley's behind!!! We don't realize this until we are home (45 mins away)! I immediately call, no answer, call again, no answer. I decide to DM their instagram page and guess what??? THEY HAD THE CUPS!!! Here I was thinking $150 in cups were gone. But they had them!!! A miracle!! 10/10 stars!! Anyway! I highly recommend the brûlée ube milk tea and the ube mochi donuts!!
