My friends and I stayed up until 11:59pm, 7 days in advance, to score this reservation-- with a level of dedication that can only be applied to events in the realm of Eras Tour tickets. We were told that we could have a sommelier come to the table and help us out, but we chose to trust the advice of our amazing server David-- and he did not steer us wrong all night! The schiacciata bianca (focaccia bread) was light and fluffy, the type to melt in your mouth. MUST try. The bruschetta classica was fine-- very good, but not groundbreaking. Rigatoncini all'arrabiatta was a pretty classic dish with the perfect amount of spice. I wish I had tried one of the more unique options (and as a vegetarian, I was happy to see plenty). To be fair, David did recommend a couple others like the gnudi di spinaci, so I'll have to come back to try it. Would definitely return to try the other pastas! We started with the gnocchi fritti and the panzanella salad. Both were great, just wish that the gnocchi had a little more sauce. We were only able to grab table in bar area, but I snuck over to the main dining area and wow is it beautiful. Would be the most beautiful spot for date or proposal! This place was hopping on a Friday evening. Like I mentioned, we sat in bar area, which they do offer full dining menu there. Drinks were excellent, I had the Tre which was perfect. Other drinks we loved included the espresso martini and we also had the Som help us select a bottle of wine for dinner. In regards to food, we shared several pasta dishes. We started with the burrata and panzanella, both delicious. Pastas included the pappardelle with duck, spaghetti and clams and the cacio e Pepe. All truly excellent. Pastas are made in house! I received 4 different responses from their managers. Very positive feedback from all except the last one (finalizing the process). Tre Dita is a beautiful restaurant in the St. Regis, which focuses on design and decor that is meant to exude ambiance. While only located on the second floor, it also offers great views of the downtown skyline. The service is also top notch, from the experienced bar staff to the knowledgeable servers. As for the food, it was solid, but in a city full of great Italian restaurants, it didn't have the wow factor to put it ahead of the pack. A solid four stars for sure. We ordered some appetizers (anchovies and burrata with prosciutto) and pastas (tagliatelle, rigatoni and pappaardelle). All the pastas were executed well and tasted like great handmade pasta should. Only complaint was the rigatoni was overly salty likely because of the guanciale, but otherwise the pastas were fresh and had good flavor. The portions are generous and designed for sharing. The price point was high but consistent for this class of restaurant. Expect to pay almost $40 for a pasta and about double that for a protein. While we wanted to try to veal chop, I thought $84 was pretty high so we didn't order it. Cocktails are also not cheap, as we got two martinis made with Titos and they were $24 each. The server noted the burrata didn't come with any bread but offered to bring some toasts with it, which we saw was a $6 charge on the bill. They really push people to order their focaccia but we didn't want to be stuffed since we were having pasta, but I'm sure it's good since a lot of tables were ordering it. read more

This was the best meal we've had in Chicago. My boyfriend is from Sicily and said all of the flavors were spot on and nostalgic to that of Italy. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The flavors of the sauces were incredible. The burrata was cut tableside and drizzled with olive oil, leaving us excited for more. The vermouth we were greeted with when we were seated was delicious and the house drinks were perfectly balanced. The zucchini flowers were fried perfectly crisp without being oily. Our server, Mason, was awesome. Everything came out super quick, Mason was knowledgeable, kind, and professional. Waters were always refilled, plates removed promptly, and we were always tended to. This is a hard reservation to get, and worth all of the competition. The building itself is gorgeous art deco and luxurious. The atmosphere of Tre Dita is beautiful. After seeing the St. Regis just from the outside for so many years, it was awesome to see the structure from the inside. That aside Tre Dita is not worth the price tag. Our waiter requested we order all at once, as they will pace the meal coming out of the kitchen. They brought the first four dishes all out within about five minutes. We asked our waiter if we could slow it down as our table was overflowing with food. His response was that was our first course. I understand this point, but at the same time, if I were to order as I was ready I would not have requested all four "appetizers" to be brought out at once. We had: 1. The Schiacciata Rossa Foccacia. Our waiter informed us that the chef took five years to develop this pillow-y focaccia. To me, it tasted exactly like the bread at Il Porcellino, another Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, and didn't seem like something worth five years of development. 2. La Panzanella. Good. Panzanella is a hard thing to mess up. The burrata was good. 3. Fiori de Zucca. These just taste deep fried with no real flavor. Of course people are going to think they're phenomenal when all they can taste is deep fry. I don't think they're worth the $24 price tag. 4. Battuta di Manzo. This was alright. I think it lacked something unique and a depth of flavor. I've had better tartare elsewhere. 5. Linguini al Limone. I liked this dish and I think it was probably my favorite thing that we had. 6. Cotoletta Fritta. Too salty. Overall, the atmosphere is beautiful but the food is underwhelming. I recommend going elsewhere. read more

HOWEVER, the bar area was fun and my waitress was really nice and accommodating. She even brought me the main menu to order from so I really didn't need the dining room seating anyway. I started out with the alcohol because I was in Chicago on vacation and I do whatever I want when I'm on vacation . The restaurant has its own version of the French 75 where they use a whisky instead of gin. One of those had me feeling myself more than Beyoncé in 2016. I moved on to something more basic and ordered 3 espresso martinis All three were life changing For dinner I had braised beef meatballs, focaccia and lamb stuffed pasta. Everything was delicious! I have now been here twice, once in the bar table seating and once in the dining room seating. Both room have great views of the lake and city. The cocktails are good though quite expensive. The food is phenomenal. I have tried the bruschetta classica, fiori di zucca, gnocchi fritti, alici marinate, linguine al limone, and trofie al pesto. Both pastas were some of the best I've had in the city. Fiori di zucca is a must to try at least once and if you love anchovies, definitely get the alici marinate. I graduated from college this year but Tre Dita was hands down the highlight of my year. When I search for a good memory, I cry every-time I think about how delicious that meal was. Let's start with the Focaccia Bianca. It was simply the most delightfully fluffy piece of bread. We also ordered the Bruschetta Classica and Oh Mon Dieu!!! The tomatoes were ridiculously fresh and bursting with flavor and I was so pleasantly delighted with every bite. I stuffed a fork full of the Focaccia and Burratta E Crudo and ascended into heaven. What's essential for your experience is the ability to appreciate simple, decadent, and fresh food. The Linguine Al Limone was very tasty. It had a strong lemon flavor which again you can actually taste the quality of the food. Same for the pesto and the Rigatoncini All'Arrabbiata (which I butchered the hell out of pronouncing). Very tasty and simple fare with a hefty but honestly worth it price tag. We had the NY Strip too (the less expensive one) and it was beautiful. The starwas that Godsend Tiramisu. And to think I didn't get the chocolate cake too. Get everything don't be like me get it all twice. It was so dreamy. The Espresso was top notch and I will never forget the flavor so long as my taste buds remain in tact. Honestly can't wait to go back in the new year. The views from the moment you walk in are breathtaking. We started our meal with the very light and airy Bianca Focaccia oh soooo good but don't fill up on bread we have a long way to go. Then soon after came our beautiful salad MISTICANZA DEL CAMPO! The edible flowers, the herbs that shine through the olive oil dressing delicious. For dinner I had the linguine al limone and he had the 8oz filet mignon. Sharing the two was a match made in heaven for the taste buds. At this point nothing we had consumed was "too heavy" the flavors, presentation and portions were right in line. Let's take a moment to mention the wait staff, we arrived 40 minutes late due to our uber driver getting us lost in the lower Wacker area but despite that, the hostess showed understanding and a shortest she would get us seated as quickly as possible. We had the bread and squash blossoms to start but didn't really enjoy them - they were both really oily. For our mains, we ordered the Arrabbiata and lemon pasta. My favorite was hands down the Arrabbiata and it was actually spicy and seasoned very well. The lemon pasta was okay but paled in comparison.
