Originally meant to be a visit to Cheesecake Factory, Trattoria Amici was my second choice as I did not wish to wait to eat .... so glad with this decision. Initially I was seated in a less than exciting table location but as soon as the complimentary bread, Oil and Balsamic Vinegar arrived, I was very happy. Highlight for me was the delicious Meatballs. Some of the best I've eaten. A Pasta dish (picture included but name forgotten) was a bit lacking in taste for me. Desserts were great. Prices are appropriate for special occasion dining. I'm honestly disappointed with this place, the service has always been great and ambiance is pleasant with a great location in the Americana, but the food... surprisingly bad. I've given this place a few more chances than I should have, only come here for charcuterie/ appetizers and drinks, everything else is mediocre. Some of the worst pizza, dominoes even does better pizza than this. The pasta is not awful but definitely falls short from sooo many other Italian spots. The only thing that's always been enjoyable are the appetizers, they have a great calamari, beef carpaccio, and charcuterie board. In the middle stall in the female restroom, when the toilet flushed it spewed urine toilet water all over my leg/new pants, into my shoe, soaking my sock. There was then a puddle on the ground, thankfully I was standing to the side and only one leg was soaked. If I was standing to the middle I would have been soaked on both legs and feet. It was such a shock - like if someone threw a glass of water on you - you would feel assaulted. It was just as much water as a full glass, except this was urine toilet water. I was literally ASSAULTED by a toilet. My pasta (ravioli) was cold and bland. My husband's food was piping hot so obviously mine sat out while his was getting cooked. We had plans after dinner that had to be cancelled so I could run home and shower the urine toilet water off of me. This place is full of children and dogs; it was like a playground. If you are looking for a romantic night, don't go here and certainly do not use the female restroom middle stall. When trying to run out the bathroom with my urine soaked sock, I was blocked from leaving due to a woman walking into the restroom with a huge stroller - big enough for 2 children - which held just a 10 pound dog in a "Louis Vuitton" jacket. Everyone had to back up into the restroom (and into the urine puddles) to let this obnoxious stroller into the restroom. Perhaps the dog was at home in a urine soaked bathroom. I certainly was not. By the way, I tried to write this feedback privately by sending a message to the restaurant on its website. No surprise - the website contact page doesn't work. You can type your message in (as long as it's 180 characters or less) but there is no button to press to submit your message. So the only way I could potentially reach the restaurant about this travesty is by posting on Yelp. I hope this post saves other women and their nice outfits from the urine assault that I unfortunately had to experience. read more

Did a last minute dinner here Thursday around 8:30 PM (10/27/2022). A girlfriend and I walked in. I had my dog, so they sat us outside of their patio area. It was a bit chilly and had heaters available. I wish I asked for their names, but the service was top tier. From the MOD, server, busser, to runners, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The food was solid as well. I forgot to take pictures of the Agnolotti Al Prosciutto & Rigatoni All'Amarriciana. Calamari and the sauce for dipping were well seasoned (not too salty) (9/10) Meatballs were (9/10) I was talking too much, so I didnt get a chance to try to salmon tartare (NA) Rigatoni was perfectly al dente. (10/10) Agnolotti was solid, but I felt something was missing. The savory and sweetness combo was there. I think it needed possibly more mascarpone. Vibe: Trendy Italian restaurant Service: Attentive and friendly Food: Because it's in an outdoor mall, I assumed it was a hyped-up Italian restaurant serving, at best, mediocre food. Typically, these restaurants must cater to a diverse range of tastes, as the Cheesecake Factory does where the food is good, but nothing spectacular. As a result, I've never bothered to give it a try until one day, my friends suggested we dine here. They're regulars here so they knew exactly what to order and recommend. These were my favorites: carpaccio di manzo al tartufo (antipasta), pappardelle alla bolognese, rigatoni alla norcina w mushrooms only, lasagna classica, brasato di manzo, and of course creme brulee for dessert. I tried everything from picking from my siblings plates and I think yes, very good and very tasty. The salad had the perfect mix of veggies that was well balanced and refreshing. All the pastas are on par and would order again--all of them. The calamari plate was delicious- just the right crunch and we'll seasoned. I only wish the service was more attentive. We weren't asked if we needed more water or had anything else in mind like desserts or something. Otherwise, this place is nice place to get-together with family and friends. Stopped by 5/10/2025. Food was good, only thing is that the cacio e pepe that was prepped on the cheese wheel, i did not see the waiter scrape the cheese wheel before prep. Not to mention the portion was small and did not come with any kind of protein. It was good pasta but a little dry for my taste. I also ordered a side of potatoes at the beginning of my meal and the dish did not arrive until i was done with my dinner. Not to mention I got charged for Evian water and I was given tap water. Loved eating at Trattoria Amici! Sat on their patio which is perfect for people watching and enjoying the ambience of the Americana - especially during the holiday season. Unfortunately downgrading this review because this restaurant has had some major changes. I believe in the summer/fall they shut down to update the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The ambiance is gorgeous. I love the new decorations and the design is beautiful, but unfortunately the food isn't the same. I'm not sure if they have a new chef or if they changed the way they cook the food, but it's not as good. Service is still amazing, but I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon. I've been here two times since they reopened and both times the food wasn't that good. I also used to always get a drink on their menu and they don't have it anymore. Huge bummer. Maybe I'll try again in the summer and see if things have changed for the better. read more

This was our first time here and dang we loved it! We came on a Tuesday around 5pm so it wasn't too busy. We sat outside and the weather was sublime. Our server, Angel, was AMAZING. He had such a good energy to him. Angel was very helpful when we couldn't decide what to order. The food we ate was all delicious! We had the bolognese. Get it. Just get it. Their cocktails were delicious too. Aside from Angel, Luis also graced us with his presence to check on how we're doing. He was super friendly and recommended other items to try next time we come back. We're definitely coming back here. They definitely live up to the Italian word for friend, amici. Trattoria Amici is NOT a great restaurant, but it IS a good restaurant. Staff is friendly and efficient. The ambience is inviting, especially on the patio. The menu is somewhat pricey, but the food is generally good. We had Lobster Ravioli ($28.50); it was a memorable hit, perfectly delicious! Insalata di Barbabietole ($17.25) was mixed greens with roasted beets, pecans, blue cheese, and green apples sliced in a balsamic vinaigrette. Very tasty. Roasted Mushrooms ($10.95) were only okay, inoffensive and unmemorable. Service was super-fast. The layout of the patio is a bit cramped. Some tables are too close, so it's possible to be closer to someone sitting at ANOTHER table rather than the other person at YOUR table. We were fortunate to select a table somewhat apart from the others, and that made the meal much more pleasant. The items listed above including two soft drinks, tax, and tip, cost $85. Overall, there are better restaurants in Glendale to visit if you want a delicious and well-served meal. But if you visit The Americana at Brand, then Trattoria Amici is a good choice for dining. read more

i've been here a few times a few years back and tried some new things this time. the rigatoni was really good, we subbed the sausage with chicken. not pictured is the melanzane alla parmigiana which was eggplant parm and a smaller dish on the appetizer side. we were sitting outside and a spider had fallen into our caesar salad so the staff were so kind to bring a new salad and also take it off our tab. my friend wasn't really a fan of the other salad but if you like blue cheese, it's very refreshing. read more

As a pasta lover myself, 10/10 would recommend, matter of fact I feel unaccomplished not being able to try all the other pastas. The ambiance and service was on point, displaying their wine cellar and an indoor and outdoor bar. My girlfriend got the seafood linguine and I got the rigatoni with mushroom cream sauce and sausage. Odd experience. I was looking forward to having a nice outing with my wife as well as have a lovey dinner at The Americana. There are many great eateries around the area (I am looking at you Din Tai Fung!) but this time around we were wanting to try something new and established. We have been always wanting to give this place a try, so we took the leap. And its safe to say I won't be dining here again. My grudge with this establishment is their lack of attentive service. From the moment we ordered our food, we never saw our waitress again until it was time to pay the bill. Two different waiters came over to provide our food, and twice I requested the alcohol menu and both did not deliver. I mean I am asking for the alcohol menu! That was definitely a buzz kill. Regarding their food, nothing to rave about. Average food for above average pricing. We were content with our food choices. I just wish our waiter offered us some cheese, with most Italian restaurants offering cheese once our food is delivered. But not here. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here due to their lack of service across all avenues (hostess, waiter, etc). Overall a 3 and not higher as due to a few hiccups where they can improve. 4 for food, 2 for lack of service (I'm very fair and reasonable). Food were all actually quite good (standouts we're the Branzino, Truffle Penne and Caprese) but for these high or higher end establishments, I include the service into my ratings as the "totality" of the experience, value, price are what matters. We went after rush hour between 3-4pm and seems like there are plenty of tables, hostess didn't smile whatsoever and sat us at the table by the entrance like a fishbowl (I highly recommend if there are other tables avail, request a change) and I would have except that I tried to be more easy going so held my tongue for sake of family and accommodating - corner of my eye was eyeing another round table for 5 at a corner with wayyyy more privacy. Big boss / manager was our waiter and he seems to be good at what he does. However the orders in which it came out was puzzling, I ordered last way after the fam's orders (including kiddos) went in (I mean at least 15mins later as I tend to be indecisive) and mine came out first. Restaurants should always put kids and seniors first - maybe that's just me but I'm sure others would agree and relate. The bust boys to waiter ratio was way off (granted we're still in the pandemic and tough to get front line workers working) but when a restaurant cares more about cleaning up after a table that has NO MORE customers as opposed to CURRENT still eating customers, that's where I feel that the true attention to detail in Customer Service comes into play. I constantly had to raise my hand multiple times and only bust boys would come over. These bust boys whom are more attentive should either get a promotion and/or raise! Also, they didn't get my Jalapeño Margarita till the very end. It's not rush hour either, it's those off peek hours so no reason to not be better imo. read more

I really really wanted to enjoy this place. Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience. We ordered a Caesar salad- which simply tasted like a salad mix you could purchase at the grocery store. We ordered their salame pizza, which was okay..tasted like a step above Sbarro Service was incredibly slow for a time that wasn't busy and we repeatedly asked to have our heater turned off, it was never turned off. The table next to us even made a joke that they would never get their check. We asked for a box and our check, which took 20 minutes. I never got refills on my coffee. I'd like to come back but maybe I'll check out their little cafe across the street instead. read more

I didn't have it on full volume and I was at the outside patio with tables of people talking around me. It was sooooo delicious and the price wasn't too bad!! My sister is gluten-free and they were accommodating as well. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area (we're not from socal). September 15, around 6-7pm. The host, middle age hispanic man, is acting like he works in White House or special security forces. Had bunch of free tables but told me to wait an hour. I, very politely asked him "why an hour if there is a lot of free tables". Replied with robotic face-"you have to wait an hour". Overall, this was a tasty meal! The ambiance is great for date night. There is free bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which is always nice. I loved the calamari here, which comes in stick form. The seasoning was so fantastic and it is light fried to perfection. Even the fried zucchini that came with it was delicious as well due to the seasoning. We tried the cream of corn soup as well, which really surprised me. It was so good, warm, hearty, and comforting! The flavor was really great. My favorite pasta was the linguine with fresh seafood. However, we asked for the tomato sauce to be substituted for something lighter - I think it might have ended up being a wine sauce? Either way, this change really made this dish phenomenal. I'm not a big red sauce pasta fan, but I really loved the flavor of this dish after the change. The lemon sorbet really hit the spot. I love how it came inside a lemon shell. It was really refreshing and delicious, and I was sad when I finished eating it. I really wanted more! I will definitely be coming back. read more
