I've been coming here for a while, but the service keeps getting worse. The staff are dismissive and act like they couldn't care less that you're dining with them--minimal engagement, little follow-up, and an overall checked-out attitude. On top of that, they were completely out of soda at 7:30 PM. How does a restaurant run out of soda that early in the evening? It's a basic item. What really frustrates me is the expectation of a full 20% tip no matter how poor the service is. Tipping used to reflect the quality of the experience; now it just feels like a mandatory add-on to the bill. Maybe if tips actually had to be earned through attentiveness, the staff would care a bit more about the people sitting at their tables. We didn't make a fuss since we were with kids and didn't want to wait for a replacement. The kids' pastas were brought out first, which we appreciated since they were hungry. However, the rest of our entrées--all pastas--took especially long to arrive. By the time our food came out, the kids had long finished eating and were getting fussy. There's a table at one end of the restaurant that's a little more enclosed that would be perfect for a small private gathering. I enjoyed my salad and my friend's pasta looked delicious. I was able to customize my salad a bit by asking for more chickpeas instead of salami. Surprisingly, I had to take some of the salad home because I wasn't able to finish it like I originally thought. They have complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well. The restaurant looked pretty upscale so I wasn't sure it was the best option for us. When we went inside, it was reassuring that we could see a lot of families. They also chose a table for us that was perfect for our party in an enclosed space, and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. I guess because I went in with zero expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. The service overall was pleasant. They had a kids menu, which was also nice. The food was not overpriced and the truffle rigatoni with sausage that the waiter recommended was fantastic. That was actually what my husband ordered. I wish I had taken the waiter's rec! Been here a few times and it's always good. Today I came and it was very delicious and good customer service. I ordered lobster spaghetti and Caesar salad and everything was perfect!! I even tried my sister pizza and it was very tasty. Food 5/5 for me. The drinks were good as well. I got my usual lemon drop and prosecco. 5/5 for the food ! The service was amazing!!! Alejandro was our server and he was really nice. Exceptional service from him the entire time. He was amicable and very attentive. The hostess and manager was nice as well. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and quality food make for a wonderful experience. We went for lunch on a Sunday. It was fairly busy but we were able to get seating in the patio area. We waited a few minutes for the waiter but once he came, he was very friendly. We tried the Tagliolini Al Limone E Ricotta, Rigatoni Tricolore Con Burrata, Gemelli Regina and Caesar salad. I was not expecting to find such an elevated dining experience in a shopping/residential district in the LA suburb of Glendale! We went in with zero expectations and left completely delighted and satisfied. There aren't many restaurants stateside that can emulate the Tuscan trattoria feel you get in Florence, but this place makes it seem effortless. Warm and inviting atmosphere inside and out with impeccable staff attentive and committed to your dining experience. I was so excited to see seasonal stuffed squash blossoms on the menu. These were amazing. Stuffed with ricotta, lightly battered, deep fried till GBD. Served with some marinara for dipping. A real delicacy not easily found on American menus. Another rare find is authentic cacio y pepe. This translates simply to pasta with cheese and pepper--specifically pecorino Romano. Expertly served table side using a full wheel of cheese and swirling the spaghetti in there to pick up the cheese. This method isn't my personal favorite because it lacks the starchy water element that helps loosen it up a bit. But my wife loved it, it was delicious, and made for quite the show. The Bronzino was truly remarkable. Whole Mediterranean sea bass roasted under a salt dome with aromatic herbs, served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Also expertly deboned and served table side. Excellent selection of classic cocktails and wines available. I find their pricing to be completely reasonable overall. You get great value for what you pay. If I find myself in the area again, Amici Trattoria will be the first place I go. read more

Came on a Friday night and it was a 40 minute wait for a party of two. Seated and immediately served fresh bread that was delicious. Seating was spacious and it was warmly lit inside which was nice. Staff were friendly and quick to assist. Ordered the 14 oz ribeye with roasted potatoes which. The ribeye was perfectly cooked medium rare and was very tender. Was at the Americana and realized, ah three years, I had never been to Trattoria Amici. The outdoor seating had a wait, but indoors we were able to get seated right away, so we sat down and went straight for drinks. We ordered the Amelia and a Mai Tai. The Amelia is a vodka based cook with elderflower liqueur, blackberries and the citron vodka. Actually has really nice flavor. The Mai Tai was also very good. Would recommend both cocktails. For food, we started with the meatballs. The meatballs, themselves, are on the smaller side, in which you get four of them. But they didn't appear too speaking in terms of color, and the flavor was lacking inside. Definitely needed some more seasoning. Covering them with the mozzarella and sauce helps. For entrees we went with the lobster ravioli and the cheese when cacuo e pepe. The lobster ravioli was ok, definitely felt like they needed more seasoning as well. The tomatoes on top and basil sauce, I felt, didn't work as well with the lobster, but maybe that's just me. The cacio e pepe is a fun presentation, but the pasta itself was overly wet, just covered in cheese sauce, making it overly rich. A little less sauce on it would have been bette, and maybe not using spaghetti noodles. It's my first time here, and I came to celebrate my birthday dinner with my friend, and upon arriving, the ambiance was very nice and upscale! When we got seated, we got some complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which free bread is always great haha. Our waiter also asked us if we wanted to sprinkle some parmesan cheese on our pastas, and we said yes. As for my dish, the truffle flavor was prominent, so if you like truffle, this dish is for you. While the pasta was good for the first few bites, it started getting super salty at the end because of the parmesan cheese, so I guess if you're getting this dish, I wouldn't recommend adding the cheese on it. I also tried a piece of my friend's lobster ravioli, and I honestly liked it better than mine lol! However, the portion sizes were pretty small for both of our dishes for the price, but considering this is a more elevated restaurant at the Americana, I can't necessarily complain. Trattoria Amici, simply known as Amici is a bright warm inviting restaurant at The Americana at Brand on the Caruso Avenue side across from familiar outdoor mall goer favorites like Barnes & Nobles, See's Candy and Ray Bans to name a few. They have an extensive menu of delicious Italian style dishes, desserts (lemon sorbetto all day) and an assortment of beverages from Chianti to Limoncello and everything in-between. Having been here many times over the years since 2017 I've had the pleasure of enjoying some of their salads, soups and pasta dishes. Most recently I was able to enjoy a newer menu item... The Beets Pappardelle Ai Funghi which is actually labeled as a vegan item :) - in the past I would ask, inquiry and learn, but it's amazing to see them elevate themselves in new ways. The pasta was phenomenal. I honestly could eat it often. I'd still recommend their Inslatas/Anti-Pastas, especially the Insalata Di Campo. The Zuppe (Soups), like the garden vegetable. Contorni, various side dishes, such as their Sautéed Broccolini, Sautéed Spinach, Roasted Mushrooms, Roasted Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Mashed Potatoes. You can enjoy Pizzas, quite a few, which can also be made gluten free and or dairy-free/cheeseless. Pasta dishes (hand-made) are very traditional with egg based pastas dishes, and the Speciali(s) are the same. Gluten free options available here as well. Loads of signature pesce (seafood) based and carne based dishes. A large assortment of appetizers/to share(s). The food is still exceptional like the service. And the atmosphere very welcoming. They do tend to get busy on weekends and for the late lunch and dinner crowd. You don't typically need a reservation, but it is highly recommended if in a larger group, though your group should all be present before being seated. They use Resy, but have used Yelp reservations in the past. You can dine inside at a table, their bar or on their patios, one directly on the Caruso Avenue side near the main entrance and one of their side exits. They have a larger patio that sits facing the courtyard area not to far from the fountain and neighboring places like the Ombra Wine Bar. They're open from 11:30 AM - 3PM with a break until 5PM and open again from then until 9PM Monday through Thursday. Friday through Sunday they're open from 11:30 AM until 9:30 PM. The ambiance was warm and it had a nice view. We ordered the broccoli soup for our starter, the green lasagna and the spinach ravioli for our main entrees and we shared a tiramisu for dessert. The food was delicious! However, the waiter was OK but not great. He did not pay attention to details. He did not bother to check if we liked our food or asked my wife if she wanted a refill for her coffee. The place was not that full. All in all, we will try this place again since we liked the food. I don't get it; this used to be a 5-star spot. Maybe it wasn't the Polo Lounge, but it was an elegant place with delicious food where you felt truly welcome. I visited a few days ago as a guest for a longtime friend's birthday, and the rudeness started right at the door. The hosts' appearance was appalling, and the waitress never once smiled. I tried to speak to a manager, but he looked incredibly stressed; it seemed like everyone there hated each other--it's possible upper management is fostering a hostile environment. The owner needs to step in and save this place; perhaps upper management needs replacing, or if the owner can't handle it, they should sell the restaurant to another group. The staff kept checking on us to see if we needed anything, which we appreciated. The only issue was that when they packed our leftovers, they didn't include the lobster that my friend didn't finish. She was really upset because she had been looking forward to taking it home. The same thing happened the last time we were there, so I'm not sure why they don't pack all of the food.
