La carbonara

Recently revisited and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Part of our order was submitted incorrectly, so we received the wrong appetizer. We didn't make a fuss since we were with kids and didn't want to wait for a replacement. The kids' pastas were brought out first, which we appreciated since they were hungry. However, the rest of our entrées--all pastas--took especially long to arrive. By the time our food came out, the kids had long finished eating and were getting fussy. Unfortunately, the pastas were also overcooked and definitely not al dente, despite the menu specifying that they would be. The flavors were decent, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, it's a decent place, but based on this experience, definitely not one of my top options in the area.

Food was perfect. The service was meh. The location is stellar. Restaurant is large and can accommodate large groups or an intimate date night. Dont pass on the lemon sorbet.

caesar salad, Truffle Fries, RISOTTO GAMBERI ASPARAGUS
Angie C.

servers are very nice!!! but food is not good. The risotto sadly smells like a warm bathroom on the first smell, it's a slightly cheesy sour smell. DO NOT order the caesar salad, it's not yummy and the potion is tiny, the lettuce is not fresh, and drenched in dressing which doesn't really taste good.... also with the parasite going around right now i'm really scared i shouldn't have ordered this i hope i don't die please no only good item is the truffle fries, very delicious and i recommend!!!

Amici Salad with more chickpeas instead of salami

Came here with a friend recently. The restaurant is fresh, spacious and tastefully minimalist. There's a table at one end of the restaurant that's a little more enclosed that would be perfect for a small private gathering. I enjoyed my salad and my friend's pasta looked delicious. I was able to customize my salad a bit by asking for more chickpeas instead of salami. Surprisingly, I had to take some of the salad home because I wasn't able to finish it like I originally thought. They have complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well. Slightly pricier than what I was expecting but I enjoyed my experience and the food here so I didn't mind paying what we did. Frugal auntie tips: 1) if you're a Caruso rewards member, you can redeem your points to get a discount here. I had enough points to get $25 off my meal here. 2) they validate for parking at the host's station.

Oldie but goodie. Haven't been here in awhile and seems kind of the theme for me, but so glad I did. Great selections, good prices compared to other places at the Americana. Couldn't stop eating the complimentary bread - so good. The Margherita pizza (perfect crust) and handmade pasta (al dente) was delicious! Ambience and service - great for lunch. Kudos to our server, JUSTIN! 9 out of 10 for me. Enjoy!

Great outdoor patio, nice late afternoon breeze , we had wine pasta and salad , service was fast and friendly. May come back and have dinner. Great food!

Been here a few times and it's always good. Today I came and it was very delicious and good customer service. I ordered lobster spaghetti and Caesar salad and everything was perfect!! I even tried my sister pizza and it was very tasty. Food 5/5 for me. The drinks were good as well. I got my usual lemon drop and prosecco. 5/5 for the food ! The service was amazing!!! Alejandro was our server and he was really nice. Exceptional service from him the entire time. He was amicable and very attentive. The hostess and manager was nice as well. The manager even checked on us. The ambiance is beautiful as well. It's located in the Americana and very beautiful. Good for date night or hang out. They even have a bar called Ombré right next to it that's a sister business. You can order food as well, with a nice ambiance. I highly recommend here ! Five stars all around!!! -Marshay D.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere and quality food make for a wonderful experience. We went for lunch on a Sunday. It was fairly busy but we were able to get seating in the patio area. We waited a few minutes for the waiter but once he came, he was very friendly. We tried the Tagliolini Al Limone E Ricotta, Rigatoni Tricolore Con Burrata, Gemelli Regina and Caesar salad. They were all very tasty. The pastas are made from scratch and were perfectly cooked. However, I wish the portions were a little larger for the price. They do offer 3 hour parking validation for the Americana parking structure. The restaurant is pretty spacious and offer both indoor and enclosed patio dining.

I was not expecting to find such an elevated dining experience in a shopping/residential district in the LA suburb of Glendale! We went in with zero expectations and left completely delighted and satisfied. There aren't many restaurants stateside that can emulate the Tuscan trattoria feel you get in Florence, but this place makes it seem effortless. Warm and inviting atmosphere inside and out with impeccable staff attentive and committed to your dining experience. I was so excited to see seasonal stuffed squash blossoms on the menu. These were amazing. Stuffed with ricotta, lightly battered, deep fried till GBD. Served with some marinara for dipping. A real delicacy not easily found on American menus. Another rare find is authentic cacio y pepe. This translates simply to pasta with cheese and pepper--specifically pecorino Romano. Expertly served table side using a full wheel of cheese and swirling the spaghetti in there to pick up the cheese. This method isn't my personal favorite because it lacks the starchy water element that helps loosen it up a bit. But my wife loved it, it was delicious, and made for quite the show. The Bronzino was truly remarkable. Whole Mediterranean sea bass roasted under a salt dome with aromatic herbs, served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Also expertly deboned and served table side. Excellent selection of classic cocktails and wines available. I find their pricing to be completely reasonable overall. You get great value for what you pay. If I find myself in the area again, Amici Trattoria will be the first place I go.

We finally had the chance to try this place. We loved the calamari and zucchini blossoms! The cacio e pepe was also tasty along with the spaghetti and seafood. My son enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. The space was clean and lively. It is a family friendly restaurant as there was a table of children near us. The service was good.

Came here for a family lunch. The service was very good but the food was only decent. Appetizers that was very good was the burrata. Other items we ordered were the lobster ravioli, carbonara, branzino, and gemilla pasta. The food was either a bit salty and very small in portion size. Although we had a good time, the food didn't stand up the par with expectations

This restaurant has a very nice patio but is also very nice inside as well. I had the Rigatoni dish that had sausage and mushrooms. You can definitely tell they make their own pasta here. Then I had the tiramisu and I'll have to say it was one of the best that I've ever had!!!! I was so full from my meal and still was able to finish it that's how good it was! They also have a great wine selection! Service was top tier as well! The entire staff was pleasant and welcoming!!!

I came to Trattoria Amici for a birthday dinner and overall had a really great experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a celebration. I ordered the truffle pasta, and WOW - absolutely delicious. Rich, fragrant, and perfectly cooked. Definitely the star of the night and something I'd come back for. The only small downside was the cheese wheel presentation. Our waitress was a bit skimpy with adding the extra cheese, which was surprising since that's kind of the whole fun of ordering it. It still tasted amazing, but I wish she had been a little more generous.

Ask the Community - Trattoria Amici

Do they validate parking?

I think all of the restaurants validate parking. However, if you park longer than 3 hrs., you will pay full price, regardless of the validation. This is something new, that went into effect last year or so. I learned that this also applies to…

Are they doing reservations?

Walk-ins only! When you call their phone, their automated message says they aren’t currently taking reservations.

Is there a link where to make reservations? Or do we have to call the restaurant to make one?

I just called and tried to make one and They do not take reservations at the moment. It's a first come, first serve basis.

Are there gluten-free choices?

they have gluten free pasta but usually it's one style (for example ony spaghetti gluten free)

Page says "Vegan Options" but I don't see any on the menu?

I haven't seen vegan, it's a true Italian restaurant.

Do they allow you to bring your own bottle of wine and just charge a corkage fee?

Sorry. I have no idea. It's best to call the restaurant and ask. Thanks.

What's the VIP treat in the check in offer?

yummy special flat bread or a Prosecco.

Is dress casual ok?

Yes! I've seen people wear tennis shoes and sandals. I've also seen people wear fancier clothes just because they're there for special occasions.

Our waiter was almost absurdly attentive, making sure my arnold palmer was near bottomless, and literally every dish we ordered, I would have licked the plate were it not considered so crass. However, with every bite of food, I felt myself breathing a sigh of relief there was still so much to try. I could go on and on about how well the plates had their flavors very well planned, and while I would love too, sometimes it's best to let the pictures do the talking this time. The cheese in my burrata and mozzarella pizza paired very nicely with some olive oil and I'll admit I was delighted they had these balsamic vinegar and Oliver oil glass containers to pour from that were so charming. To top it off, the place is beautifully designed. A little summer heat never killed anyone, but it was such a nice day to enjoy good food. There's a reason this place calls itself the divine kitchen... Absolutely try the dessert too, it somehow tastes even better than it looks... Cheers!

I was reading this page and saw mixed reviews, so I decided to try it with my son and make my own determination. They have no parking but thankfully we found a spot on the side street. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an apartment building. They also have outdoor seating, but we sat inside. One restroom each for men/women (and super clean). We walked in and got a pleasant greeting from Mia. She was HANDS DOWN the best part of this experience and provided stellar customer service. She is so young and has a bright future ahead of her. Mia treated us with genuine kindness and was a pleasure to talk to during our dinner. She made sure we were well taken care of and our orders were to our exact specifications. This restaurant is very lucky to have someone as good as her working there. For our appetizers, we got the Cesar Salad ($17), Parmesan on the side, and Bruschetta ($17). I also asked Mia if they bring complimentary bread to the table and she said they do, upon request. She asked if we wanted olive oil or butter and I chose butter. My son and I both enjoyed the Bruschetta and thought it tasted very good. The bread was nicely toasted and the tomatoes were seasoned well. It was also a good portion, easily shareable between 2-3 people. The salad wasn't our favorite and we've definitely had better at other restaurants. The lettuce didn't taste too fresh and the dressing wasn't really that good. The portion size was good, though. For my entrée, I got the Spicy Rigatoni ($22) but I asked for it to be light on the spice and added shrimp (+$12). It tasted fine, nothing really to write home about. I had to ask Mia to microwave it for a minute because it wasn't hot. My son ordered the Chicken Parmigiana ($23) but asked for the chicken to be grilled instead of breaded. He said he enjoyed his dish and the tomato sauce had a good amount of garlic in it. For dessert, Mia was kind enough to bring out a complimentary Key Lime Cheesecake since she found out my son is celebrating his birthday in a few days. She was seriously impeccable. Honestly, the place is just really drab and boring. There isn't much decor and it feels like a slightly elevated diner that serves beer and wine. It was a Friday night and there was no one in there/no pickup orders. We were there from about 7:30pm-10pm when they closed and only 3 other parties came in. There is no music playing, which makes the atmosphere even more drab and lifeless. Its also super cold in there and I asked Mia to adjust the AC and even after she did, it was still cold. It's not an upbeat type of place at all but the food is decent and Mia's service is the best part. She herself is 10/5 stars, but for my overall experience, I'll stick with 4 stars this time.

This seriously old school restaurant, family run and kept beautifully intact as a mid-20th century haven of home cooking, is just about as enjoyable a place as you're likely to find in L.A. these days, regardless of the cuisine. Of course, Scarantino's serves Italian food, but I have no doubt that if these people set their minds to it, they'd make a fantastic meal of any kind. Last time we were here on a weeknight, and were one of only a few tables dining -- now, it was prime dinner time Saturday night and the place was buzzing with couples on dates and families celebrating being families. People were toasting with glasses of wine, laughing, and generally having a terrific time. Our server, Justina, was all smiles and about as friendly as a human can be, all while deftly handling quite a few tables without a problem. She rattled off a memorized long list of specials in detail with far more confidence than I did my college drama department auditions, and that actually changed my mind about my entree. As always, you're brought a basket of Italian bread with butter. Though it would have been nice if the bread had been warmed, the bread itself is old time, NY white Italian bread with a crispy crust and pillowly interior that you just don't get most places here, and it was terrific even if room temp. Also, as always, you're given soup AND salad with your entree. First, a house-made minesterone soup boasting a deliciously rich vegetable broth and all manner of fresh veggies, pasta and potatoes. Just terrific. Then, a mixed green salad with a house-made creamy garlic dressing that takes all the flavors of a traditional Italian dressing and kicks it into the stratosphere. Also terrific. My wife was in a childlike mood, and ordered a simple entree of spaghetti with butter and garlic. But this was no child's dish. The al dente pasta was coated in a lovely butter sauce fortified with pungent, fresh chopped garlic. It was simple but elemental, and very satisfying. My own entree was one of the specials: The Sicilliana. Small pasta shells dressed in a ragout of beef and sausage with tomatoes, olives, capers, green onion and hot cherry peppers. This was hearty, spicy, very flavorful food that grew even tastier with the addition of parmesan cheese. Again, this was elemental Italian cooking: memorably comforting. We weren't hungry enough for dessert, but I can attest that the Tiramisu looked spectacular!!! If I lived closer I'd be there at least once a week -- and even though I'm across the Valley, I'm going to try to get in once a month. It is absolutely worth the drive!!!

Along with wine and sparkling water. Calm ambiance with nice calming lighting. Very clean and well maintained . Highly recommended. We will be back

Brick walls with a couple of televisions showing old black and white silent movies add to the ambiance. Everything on menu looked delicious so the four of us decided to share everything family style. We started our dinner with Wild Mushrooms over Polenta and Heirloom Tomatoes. Both items were delicious. For our entrees we had Rigatoni Timballo, Squid Ink Lumache, Torchetti and Gnocchi. All of their pasta are fresh made in house and you can tell the difference with each bite. They are so fresh and awesomely delicious!! The gnocchi was my favorite. It felt like autumn warmth in your mouth. Service was good overall. One thing I didn't care for if the server semi rudely told us that we could not order our starters before our entrees, everything had to be ordered at once. What?!? Even if that was the case, it could have been said nicer. Our group felt she gave us icy service, not welcoming. The rest of the service staff was very friendly, helpful and on top of all our needs.

From the host to the bartender and our wonderful server, everyone made us feel so welcome. The restaurant has such a warm, inviting atmosphere--it almost feels like being welcomed into an Italian family's home. I wish I remembered our server's name because he deserves a special shout-out! He spoke Spanish, which made the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable for me as a Spanish speaker. His kindness and attentiveness were exceptional--some of the best service I've ever received. We tried the local wild mushrooms (my absolute favorite!), roasted market carrots, beets, squid ink lumache pasta, and torchetti. Everything was delicious, and the pacing of the meal was just right. To finish, our server treated us to complimentary guava and mango ice cream with chamoy. Such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to end the meal! I've only been once, but I'm already looking forward to going back. Union really made an impression. Highly recommend!

We had a celebration of life dinner after a service at Forest Lawn for 70 people. I looked at every…read morerestaurant in the area and selected All'Acqua. If I could give them a 10 instead of a 5, I would. First off, they were more reasonably priced than anyone else and didn't add in any extra fees (other than the expected tip and tax.) The menu they created was fabulous. Something for everyone, like nine dishes, two desserts and everything was so incredibly good. The service was exceptional. They were ready. As soon as people started coming in, they were bringing out garlic bread, salad, meatballs, frito miso, getting people drinks and making them comfortable. Those were just the appetizers. That didn't include the pasta bolognese, the margarita pizza, the braised branzino, or the chicken milanese. And everyone didn't move when it came time for cannoli and tiramisu for dessert. Parking was great. They gave us the entire parking lot. Everyone raved about the food. Everyone had an incredible time. Seriously, if you're thinking of having an event, you won't find a better experience.

I find the $13 for the bread a challenge, but it was great nevertheless. For the Octopus, it was a 6 out of 5. Possibly the best I ever had. I am not a fan of celery, but I loved the salad that came with it. Who ever knows me: Guido bragging about salad? No way. Then we had the Vodka penne, followed by a Prosciutto pizza. We are good eaters, but we had to pass on desert, we were full. As I said, we went yesterday, a Wednesday. Featured item on the Happy Hour List: the Burger. I only saw them flying out of the kitchen. Take my word: next Wednesday. Same place. Happy Guido :-) $150 well spent, I can't wait to go again. Great ambiance, and even greater service. We were surprised that an Italian place offered an Austrian beer and also some carefully selected Austrian wines. We asked - and were told that the owner loves them and went extremes to make them available. Thanks for reading this. Let me share one very personal thought at the end: THIS is a restaurant that shows love and heart by owner(s) and their staff. It clearly differentiates from any chain place. I wish all restaurants I rate with 5 stars were run like this.
