Looking for some delicious seafood on a trip from Texas to Disney World and this little joint hit the spot! Started out with a huge helping of fried pickles. Hubby had a big bowl of awesome gumbo and I shared a heaping, cheesy plate of seafood nachos with the kids! Server was great and food came out super fast! Very disappointed in this place! Hostess greeted us at the door with her mask down below her mouth. Server came to table to take our order with their mask pulled down below her mouth under her chin. I requested her to properly wear her mask because I was uncomfortable due to the pandemic. Our server did as requested but all other servers did not have their masks properly covering their mouth or nose. Noticed the tables around were filling up with no concerns in reference to social distancing or or reduced occupancy. At that point we requested to get our food to go and left the restaurant. The food was less than mediocre. They apparently have no concerns about safety or prevention of covid spread. Will not return to this restaurant. read more

My family and I made a last minute decision to give Trapps a try. I am very glad we did. We arrived after 1:30, and there were quite a few cars in the parking lot. The parking lot is in terrible shape. My daughter and I reasoned that a sizable crowd in a rough parking lot could only mean the food must be great. And it was. The fried shrimp were very good--not overly battered. The boiled shrimp were good, too. The seafood nachos--excellent! Our server was super sweet. She was very patient with our kids who spilled a drink. She even tossed a few crackers in the river so the kids could see the turtles. Overall great experience. I expect we will return. read more

The crawfish queso was a different kind of queso and it was good. I got the smothered catfish with toasted corn and my husband got the yams instead. The sauce on the fish was a bit salty but we were happy with the meals overall. Nice river view, and there were plenty of fans outside so it wasnt too hot to enjoy the view. read more

We were greeted by Grecia who helped us navigate the menu. After listening to the description of the appetizers, we ordered the seafood nachos. Crisp homemade potato chips topped with creamy white cheese, shrimp, crawfish, fresh veggies arrived quickly. The portion was generous and delicious. We followed our appetizer with a cup of crawfish etouffee and chicken and sausage gumbo and both were equally delicious. With our bellies full, we brought a portion of bread pudding back to the hotel room. Grecia had explained heating instructions which made the dessert a most delightful treat. One of my favorite places in town. The food is good, consistent and they have good drinks. Atmosphere is laid back and exactly what you want in a place right on the river. The nachos are fantastic as is everything else. They do live music on weekends which can be nice but also make for long wait times especially for the patio. They do great takeout too! read more

Literally stood my spoon up in my "shrimp and corn bisque" -- which MIGHT have had 1 shrimp. More of a processed cheese corn dip. My crab cakes were little circles of burned mush. Mush. Everything was cold. Our friend sent back his crawfish poboy because the fried crawfish were tasteless rocks. Completely over fried. Great service, great atmosphere and fun original food. We ordered nachos with shrimp and crawfish tails - amazing. We also got the jambalaya, gumbo and rice and beans. All were great. I have to say after seeing all the reviews I was excited to go get some good food but was disappointed. I had a crawfish po boy and my fiancé had the shrimp po boy. Neither of them were seasoned and both were very bland po boys. The good thing about this place is the service is absolutely outstanding. Our waitress made sure we always had what we needed. I definitely would try it again and maybe get something else other than a po boy if I'm ever back that way again. read more

Service wasn't the best as we had to ask multiple times for things but it seemed like they were training someone... it happens. Drink service was slow and we weren't served waters as a table. I know, it's completely irrational and my own ignorance is to blame. I avoided this fish for a long time, despite Southerners swearing by its delicacy. But then I went to Trapps, determined to eat authentic Louisiana food, and I loved it! Every element of the sandwich coalesced into a lovely package of flavor and texture. This place used to be amazing...but now it's nothing but lack luster and gross. Over the past year I've eaten Trapps a total of 4 times, and each time has gotten worse. This time, I had DoorDash deliver a order of seafood nachos and Kirsten's ravioli. The nachos chips were a bit stale, the shrimp for the nachos was cold. I don't mean "cooled off on the ride over" cold, I mean "cold like they were frozen shrimp that they didn't heat all the way through" cold. The raviolis are inedible. The are fried so hard you can't bite down into them, and the "crawfish marlee" tastes like watered down milk, with no crawfish in sight. Seriously, trying to bite into one of these ravioli is probably comparable to trying to snack on concert slab. Next time I'll save the $40 and just eat cereal instead. read more

This looked like a hole in the wall place on the outside but it sits on the river. Not fancy but it the food was excellent. I ordered small Filet steak and didn't care for it only because they use a glaze that has Worcestershire sauce in it...but the steak was very tender and juicy.
