Oh my gosh, we were out this way, without much breakfast had, so looking for brunch-ish? Ronny's was outstanding! We missed the lunch rush I think, more were leaving than coming in, but I'd say they do a good lunch, or people wouldn't be there. Did I mention they are out of the way a bit? Don't let that deter you, go there, and you'll be like us, will find a way to decide, we need to go to Maple Ridge! I love the interior with a splash of Italia, but decor is full of understanding what the purpose is. It's about feeding people in the traditional sense. You can eat in, take away ready, or take it home warm it up and feed your family. How refreshing it is for us that love the old world mindset. K's Chef's Special with fries was so good. The fries remained hot until the last one was devoured, how do they do that? She ate half the sandwich and had to box the other half. My borscht side with my Turkey BL sandwich was so good I also brought a half sandwich home. I could have finished it, but we would have had to stop for a nap prior to getting all the way home. This might surprise those that have read this far, but we are going back for sure, and you should find a reason to do the same.

The upkeep has been neglected. 50's music, 50's food, 50's ambiance. There's not many old time diners around so if you haven't see one now would be the time. It's a fun theme. Having said that, just because the decor is vintage doesn't mean the menu ought to be too. The sandwiches were slapped together unevenly and tasted unappetizing. The Tuna-salad sandwich needs to be improved. The mustard tasted gross with the tuna. Maybe just go for a couple of drinks instead of food. I loved the crispy exterior with the sea salt on top, and the inside was so pillowy and buttery - then topped with the blue cheese butter... yum! So good. For my entree, I ordered the truffle tenderloin steak and my dining partner had the ahi tuna. We also added the Brussels sprouts and Brie mashed potatoes to share. A really cool feature is they bring over a selection of steak knives that you can choose from. I really love this concept and whoever thought that up is a genius. I chose a gorgeous, elegant-looking knife with a handle that looked like mother of pearl. The steak was easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. They shave black truffle directly on the steak when it's served, which adds such a nice richness. The sauce is also one of the better sauces I've had on a steak. It was so tempting to want to lick the plate! It was a cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender. It's been a long time since I was really blown away by a great steak, but this just hit the mark in every way. The Brussels sprouts were great, but there was something in the dish that was a bit odd - almost like wasabi or something. It wasn't bad, it just had a kick that I wasn't expecting and made me cough a little bit. The potatoes were creamy and buttery but I did think the Brie flavour wasn't coming through enough. Maybe because all the other flavours on my plate were pretty strong. I didn't try the tuna but it looked beautiful and apparently tasted just as good. We finished off with a couple of desserts: the beehive pavlova and the crème brûlée, the latter being my typical go-to dessert. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for the salted caramel flavour here, but can't really put my finger on what exactly I didn't enjoy as I normally love salted caramel. One bite was enough for me. It looked amazing, though. I did enjoy the pavlova, but it wasn't a traditional style as it had ice cream inside instead of whipped cream. It was more like a baked Alaska without the flame. The flavours were good on this dessert, but I probably wouldn't order it again as I was really craving the more traditional pavlova. Service was good, but we did wait quite a long time after being seated before placing our order, and then waited again after dessert before getting our bill. We weren't in a hurry, but I think we were there for over 3 hours. Still a very enjoyable meal and I would definitely return for the steak alone.

We arrived around 3p on a Tuesday and asked to be seated someplace more quiet (Mom is hard of hearing) and we all really enjoyed being seated in the outside (?) covered patio area with the less blaring music. The space itself is thoughtfully designed, with a mix of open-concept dining, lounge seating, and patio areas that give you options depending on your mood. Inside, the restaurant leans into a warm, contemporary aesthetic--think natural textures, greenery, soft ambient lighting, and plenty of visual energy from artwork and large screens. It definitely has that upscale sports bar vibe, where you can just as easily come for brunch as you can for drinks during a big game. That said, the energy can get pretty high, especially indoors, so it's more of a vibrant, social atmosphere than a quiet, intimate one. When it comes to the food, King Taps does a great job of blending comfort classics with a slightly elevated, modern twist. The Steak & Eggs is a standout brunch option--perfectly cooked steak with a nice sear, paired with eggs done just right. It's hearty without feeling overly heavy, and the balance between the richness of the steak and the simplicity of the eggs makes it a satisfying, no-nonsense dish. You can tell they put care into the quality of the ingredients, especially with their meats, which are sourced with a focus on freshness and consistency. The Breaky Bowl is a great option if you're looking for something a bit more balanced but still filling. It's layered with fresh ingredients that come together in a really cohesive way--nothing feels like an afterthought. Every bite has a mix of textures, from crisp elements to softer, more comforting components, and it's one of those dishes that feels both nourishing and indulgent at the same time. It's a solid pick if you want something lighter than a traditional brunch plate but still packed with flavor. The Huevos Rancheros dish brings a bit more boldness to the table. It's vibrant, flavorful, and has that satisfying combination of savory, slightly spicy, and fresh elements that make the dish pop. The components are well-balanced, and nothing overpowers the other--everything works together to create a dish that feels thoughtfully composed rather than thrown together. It's easily one of the more exciting brunch items on the menu if you're craving something with a bit of personality. Overall, King Taps in Langley delivers a well-rounded dining experience. Between the energetic atmosphere, stylish interior, and consistently solid food, it's a great spot whether you're meeting friends for brunch or grabbing a casual meal with a bit of buzz. While it can get loud during peak times, the quality of the food and the overall vibe make it a place you'll likely want to come back to--especially if you enjoy a lively, social dining scene.
