This is nice Trader Joe's. I don't love it as much as the Tempe one but it's still good. This store just can feel a little cramped, probably because it's a bit of a smaller location, and I feel like sometimes I have to dig for fresh produce behind the ones in front. Judge it for what it is, right? It's a Trader Joe's, and as TJs go, this is middle of the road. Not the nicest location not the worst. Not the best parking, not the worst, not the cleanest store, but not the filthiest. I won't go off here about how I maybe just don't *get* Trader Joe's and I kind of find it a teensy bit annoying when people gush about the place. Nope. You won't hear me say that I think it's a store full of a few things you could use, and a bunch of stuff that no one really needs. Not that I mind superfluous things. Just maybe this isn't my kind of superfluous. What I will say, though, is that other stores have horrible gluten-free bread, and they carry Udi's. Which is maybe not the best bread in the universe, but when you're going to make French toast and you have two gluten-free people eating (and one who is on-again, off-again gluten-free) you probably need to buy a loaf of it. I went to this Trader Joe's on the fourth of July and it was busier than I expected. Overall, I like all TJ because the quality and affordability! This TJ is no different from any other. It is clean, employees are welcoming and nice. They all stock the same items. The items I always love to get from TJ are: +Kale (affordable, pre-washed and delicious and only $1.99!!, such a healthy food!) +Cookie butter (Oh my... Have you guys tried it? I feel like I died and went to heaven buying thing! So unique to TJ!! ) +Crumpets (Cookie butter + crumpets are delicious and both are reasonably priced) +Garbanzo beans - cheap and good, goes great with salad or make hummus with it! +Grape tomatoes - I just love to buy tomatoes from TJ! +Olive oil (best deal in town, seriously!) +Balsamic vinegar +Chocolate covered pretzels - BEST THING EVER! The pinch of salt brings out the flavor There's so many snacks and frozen foods I just love from there... the list might go on and on.... +I used to think TJ was like whole foods, fancy and overpriced but when you stop and look at the prices and quality, a lot of the snacks and frozen foods and some of the vegetables are reasonably price and worth it! read more

Smaller than the one I have back home but still had the garlic bbq Sriracha sauce that I told my brother he needed to try. Their wine/beer selection is nicely labeled. I do think TJ's needs to incorporate U.S made wine, such as from Long Island or Cali, it would definitely help their sustainability image. I also didn't see a very big cheese selection, may my eyes missed it? All in all, there were no lines which I was thankful for and the same friendly service. This is my favorite grocery store! Also, as luck would have it, it's my family's favorite too. They have the little kid/midget/dwarf sized grocery carts which are great! My kids love to push them around to "help" me and my wife get groceries. I can't believe how consistent the staff are here. I swear they are all required to take mood enhancers before starting their shift because I have never had someone working there that wasn't friendly and helpful. No matter how bonkers the parking lot looks, the store doesn't feel crowded and the check out lines (if any) move fast. Great selection of vegan foods and I love so many of TJ's brands for quality and value. Organic items are also plentiful here. Trader Joe's just lost our business. We were wearing clear plastic face masks that cover our mouth and nose. They are also used by doctors and nurses. We were stopped at the door by a rude employee who said that our masks were not CDC approved and we could not enter the store. As we walked away she was laughing and joking about her new found power. Trader Joe's is always amazing! This location has the best staff that is friendly and helpful. They will search in the back if customers are looking for an out of stock item. They ask about foods you buy and really connect with you every time. This Trader Joe's is like my favorite comfortable sweatshirt. Trader Joe's...fun concept, tasty and creative products. Some employees are friendly, caring, and interested in providing good service. Notice how I said SOME employees. That is because I experience employee microaggressions nearly every time I shop there. I've been called a "sorority sister", "cougar", "tradwife", and more. Then, there are the digs at my intelligence and employment status. For example, I often wear an employee lanyard when I stop by after work. Since I am a 64-year-old woman with a PhD and 40 years of work experience, I expect to receive at least minimal respect as a working person. Yet, I am repeatedly informed by younger Trader Joe's employees that they are students headed for "real careers...not secretarial work". Of course, this astounding gender-stereotyping and ageism is framed by the requisite tattoos, piercings, and rainbow hair of a "progressive" lifestyle which they are CERTAIN I do not support. My hair is blonde...clearly I MUST be Republican. Frankly, I'm sick of the ignorant, smug, poseurs who work for this company. Why does my grocery shopping have be a political statement? Trader Jose's is one of my favorite places to shop. It is clean, bright, organized and has just what I need. The employees are friendly and helpful! There are some things that are staples in my home; the meatless meatballs, the Caesar dressing and the chili and lime chicken burgers. All of theirs produce is fresh and I love that I can get a bouquet of fresh flowers while I'm there too. read more

For those who don't know, Trader Joe's is a sort of up-scale market. Their selection is less than one of the big groceries like Fry's, but what they do have tends to be organic, and often rather unique. Their produce is generally 'clean', as are their meats and dairy. They carry uncured bacon, not-from-concentrate juices, natural grain breads, and some gourmet frozen foods too. Among other things. The staff is friendly and helpful, too. Of course you pay for this level of quality. But given that this is stuff you're putting into your body, I think it's worth it. If it were more convenient to my house I'd come here more. This TJs is the best of the best. Last time in with my toddler, they gave her her own free cup of cookies and then a lollipop at checkout. They sugared her up while I shopped, which kept her happy. Opened up a checkout lane for us too so we didn't wait at all. Such kind people here and of course the best treats. read more

Although, I am a loyal Sprouts shopper. I decided to try Trader Joe's as I have been wanting to for a while now. This location is small, and was crowded when I visited. The store is clean and well organized. I liked that right when you walk in the door there are a variety of fresh, fragrant, colorful flowers to greet you. I thought the produce section was well stocked with fresh produce, and I found some things there I can't find at Sprouts. The selection of frozen foods, and boxed health foods are ample. The prices are reasonable for organic food. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I will supplement my Sprouts trip with Trader Joe's. I am a fan! read more

This is the other location I frequent! They are always stocking up everytime I go. It's nice that they rarely run out of the things I come here for. Like the other one in Tempe, the selection of wines, fruits and cheeses are wonderful. Their whole wheat lavash topped with Quattro Fromaggio cheeses, avocado and sliced tomatoes broiled for a few minutes is always a hit in the summer...or whenever we crave it. Good priced organic and seasonal produce keeps me coming back for more. I also pick up some bread, tortillas and garlic naan. Addition to my pantry are Indian and Thai curries in jars, for quick last minute meals. Don't forget their extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, you'll find many choices for your cooking needs at a considerably lower cost than the average grocery store. read more

I started shopping exclusively at Trader Joe's years ago. Well, almost exclusively. If I didn't need a wider selection of produce I'd only shop there. I enjoy that their food has higher quality ingredients than the regular grocery store. I like looking at the back of a package and not seeing 35 ingredients with names I can't pronounce. I also dig the fact they don't use preservatives and that they have dried fruit without sulfites. Their food tastes better, there's not a whole lot of added crap, and everything is fresher. Some food is seasonal, like those specialty shrimp they sell around summertime, which are fantastic! Everything about it makes me happy. I'm in and out in no time and the people working are always friendly and give me good advice on new food. read more

We started doing most of our grocery shopping here. Everyone is super nice. Prices are fair. They have coffee for shoppers and always make sure they have a sample for my daughter who has multiple food allergies. They know me and they always talk to my kids. There are little shopping carts for children. I think what really melted my heart though is when I was running into the store 3 minutes before they were closing and the manager in the front stopped me and told me not to worry and take my time. At the checkout the cashier double checked whether I had everything I needed and offered to wait if I needed to get a few more items. That's customer service at its finest. read more

Cover Story: Speculoos Cookie Butter at the End of the World Did you hear? More than one-third of people are terribly worried that there might not be enough cookie butter to go around (fake shortages). The situation is so dire that there is a 3 jar minimum at most locations. Bad news indeed. Do you know what this means? It means that Trader Joe's is consistently packed with cookie butter preppers, stocking up for the next drought. This means that I sometimes have to park as far as two stores away just to shop at the Baseline Rd location. It's an arduous struggle that I'm willing to deal with. I go about once a week. The efforts are rewarded with: conveniently packaged organic produce, mini pots of fresh herbs, $2 bundles of seasonal flowers, the absolute cheapest nuts and dried fruitbits I've ever seen. Even the processed junkstuff is somehow less junky, less infused with artificial flavors, colors, toxins, and evil gmo monsanto-ness. So, when I do want to buy junk food, I feel a little better about getting it at Trader Joe's. The eclectic frozen foods offerings are also appealing. Predictably, if you cram some Kale into anything, I'll put it in my cart. And the two buck chuck ($2.99 in Arizona) ain't bad either. Did I mention the conversation? On a recent visit, an employee wearing footed pajamas (I am totally not even making this up - it was pajama day for the staff) indulged me in a debate about how to best win if a game of "Supermarket Sweep" were held in the store there. He suggested that it would be best to fill the cart with some of the more expensive cases of wine. I countered by telling him I'd likely risk it by making a bee-line straight to the nut butters and fill my whole cart with Speculoos Cookie Butter. read more

I come here probably at least once a week. The prices are right, there's a good variety of "ethnic" food, the cashiers are quick and friendly, and they're just helpful. I locked myself out of my car when having a space-cadet moment and they let me use their phone to call AAA to bail me out. I don't get a chance to go to Trader Joe's very often so when I do I kind of go all out. This location is located in a strip mall right next to a Michaels store. The parking is kind of crazy and the set up of the parking lot is weird, just be prepared for that. First off I love the selection of fresh flowers upon walking in, it is very welcoming. I made my way over to the cheese and meats section which always has a great selection. I picked up some great organic ground beef to make some tasty and delicious cheeseburgers tomorrow along with a great smoked gouda. The frozen selection is really good here and you can find some unique and easy dinners for a busy week. The wine selection is outstanding and the prices are even better. Today they were sampling Macaron Prosecco which had a great fruity flavor and I added a bottle to my cart to enjoy alongside my burgers tomorrow. Overall Trader Joe's has a great selection of organic products, unique frozen meals and great wine. How can you go wrong? read more

Trader Joe's is unbeatable for price, taste, variety, and healthy options. I love TJ's so much that I drive nearly 45 minutes from southeast Gilbert about once a month for my fix -- they have such unique items that I just can't find anywhere else. Produce and salads are always fresh, their cheese selection is out of this world, and I especially love their frozen entree and side dish selections -- like roasted balsamic vegetables, Korean veggie pancakes, stuffed mushrooms, chicken Tikka Masala, etc., all with healthy, wholesome ingredients and so reasonably priced. And the little treats, cookies, chocolate, and seasonal items are too good for words. The employees are super friendly, too, and although the small store can get crowded, the lines seem to move pretty efficiently. I was somewhat dismayed to see a Sprouts move in literally right next door, because Trader Joe's is by far the superior choice for healthy shopping, and you'll spend half as much as you would at Sprouts. I do wish a Trader Joe's would open somewhere closer to home in the south Gilbert/ Queen Creek area, because I would be there all the time instead of just once a month. I have been going to this Trader Joes for over 15 years. The staff have been amazing, but it is the corporate BS that is really upsetting. Not only do they make their employees suffocate behind face masks (which do nothing to protect people from viruses) they have now ON THE WEEK ARIZONA FINISHED THE LOCKDOWN- decided to put up Nazi Covid rules banners and limit the amount of people in the store to about a dozen. They are now forcing customers who want to shop there to wait in line in the Arizona heat. Thus is beyond stupid as people like me have been spending lot's of $$$$ there keeping them afloat during this planneddemic. They already have a special time for seniors and now this, so triggering!!!!! read more

This place is the best! Prices are decent. They have tons of things to choose from from a vegetarian standpoint. Sometimes the bigger chain stores have a little veg section but not much for me to chose from. These guys definitely have it covered :) A lot of their stuff is fresh and organic which is another plus. They have a big wine selection too! The only downfall to this particular location...its tiny! So even at not so busy times it's a little hard to maneuver around your little cart trying not to bump into to many people while making your way through. This Trader Joe's is just slightly below the Tempe one I love, but I'll give it 5 stars, too. I remember a few years ago when I was a single mom and one of the guys there knew it. He would see me come in there periodically and one day he saw that I was down and stressed. As I was walking to my car with my shopping cart with groceries and towing my young kids, he came out to the parking lot with a bouquet of flowers for me. How sweet. No strings attached. He just wanted to bless my day and he said he knew how hard it must be to be a single parent. I hadn't gotten flowers from anyone in awhile, except my sweet sister. Well, years later, I still remember. This Trader Joe's is also far from me, maybe also close to 20 miles, too. But, I love every Trader Joe's store I've been to.
