Tracy Optometry has always given me good eye exams, I think Dr. Yee is really good, and the lady doctor (I can't remember her name, I apologize). So, an extra star for that. However, their customer service has always been absolutely awful. Not willing to help in any way. I've spent hours each time I deal with this office trying to sort everything out on my own. Every time I order through Costco or 1-800-Contacts, they do not want to help me one bit, and have given me the wrong prescription so many times, and it causes such a hassle since I live part of the year in another state. They're just not very eager to give good customer service. You would think they would with all the money we've spent here! read more

I came in with high hopes considering my husband got his glasses from Tracy Optometry. Those high hopes quickly faded when I made my appointment and waited for a good 45 minutes to be seen by the Doctor. After being seen, I was assisted in picking out my glasses (usually my favorite part). He asked me what I was looking for and if I wanted transition lenses. I told him I'm looking for bigger frames and DO NOT want transition lenses because I personally do not like them on myself. I emphasized I didn't want them TWICE. Low and behold, three weeks later my super cute frames were in and of course they had transition lenses. I didn't notice they were transition until the next day when I wore them out. To make matters worse, they had dozens of little scratches! How did no one catch this? How are they able to sell these to me?! I would give one star, but I'll give them two since I did call and they said they can give me a non transitional fresh pair of lenses in two more weeks. read more

I recently came here with my bf to his eye appointment and was really impressed with the Practice and I wasn't even the patient. I was a patient here many years ago and since then they have redone the look of the office. It looks great! Everyone was professional and polite. I walked in just to look at frames. I walked in and no hello or anything. Ok whatever. I walk around for about 15 mins with no acknowledgment still. I see two people sitting at the desks that look like the workers that help people with frames and they are just chatting it up while I'm still kinda just lossed. Finally one of them asks me if anyone helped me. I said no and asked if they had a certain brand. She pulls it out and says here it is but I need to check into the front desk first. Ok no problem. Now I'm at the front desk and I'm told I need a appointment just to look at glasses. Ok maybe it's just me but I have never had to make a appointment just to look at frames. Ok sure whatever. Now she tells me how about a appointment date that's 3 weeks out. Hahahha ok I'm done. Sorry I'm not waiting 3 weeks just to look at frames. Maybe you guys just feel comfortable already with your buisness? But I'm a new member of this city and I'm super turned off about my whole experience. I've been going here for 11/2 years now. They have a covid safe place, great. There staff was nice. There policy has NO exceptions. I have a work voucher for safety prescription glasses. all they had to do is take the already filled out slip and have my glasses made, I already had a current prescription with them. They told me i had to get an appointment. last time it took 2 months. If my glasses were not paid for by my employer I would never set foot in there again. when I walked in for my last appointment they were 15 minutes late and i was the only one there. Evil Alert, I've experience lots better ok; so we walk in...we usually don't take walk-ins...ooook, but we have an opening, lucky me, its $130 for an eye exam, what? ahhh no thanks its less expensive at costo and ....before I could finish... well you get a costco exam, what is that suppose to mean, I've heard the receptionist says the exams are 10 15 minutes, so I said, No... and you know its not nice to talk bad about Dr. Upshaw I have known him for 10 years, he is just out for the next couple a days so I came in to make an inquiry. I continued ... you are free to charge whatever you want but talking bad about another Dr. when its just not true or making a blanket statement like that is just not right. Bottom line; avoid this place its over price, rude, boutique style, who needs it. Hey you've got money to burn, go ahead not me. I've never had a fee like this before. My previous eye dr never charged me a contact lens fee. I've been wearing them since I was in jr high. I am thankful VSP took my complaint and allowed me to get another exam. I will be going back to my old eye dr in San Jose. Worth the trip if you ask me. read more

First, let me say, the staff out front is great to work with. No issues there. Friendly and helpful, they make you feel comfortable. And they have a pretty fair selection of frames and lenses. It's a nice shop to get glasses, as long as you have insurance or a very healthy budget for such things. The area I find to be less than expected was the optometry side. My wife and I were shuffled through the rooms at a breakneck pace, offered testing that was not covered by insurance without a doctor first taking a look at us and our histories to determine if such a test is warranted. This is purely a money-making business. A boutique parading as a doctor's office. The prices and the service make that very clear. They're not in it for the patients' quality of life. read more

Apparently you can't even walk in and look at glasses here without an appointment. Or even ask a few questions about prices without an appointment. I have kaiser and my son had already seen an eye doctor and received an Rx that day. When I asked about pricing I was quoted a ridiculously high number and was told 4 times in a 2 minute conversation I have to make an appointment. So don't go to this jacked up ridiculous place to shop because you need a freaking appointment. read more

We had our son's glassed made here. The gentle men who helped with glasses was nice. When the glasses arrived they were suppose to give us the (so called demo lenses) back but they did not. They told me that demo lenses are never returned. I told them that was what was told to us. So after speaking with lab manager they ordered demo lenses for us and my son picked them up. When I checked them (same day) one lens was defective, and missing coating inside. I called and the girl on front desk was rude. I spoke with another person, she said come back to the office. After few days my son took them to the office, the person I spoke with told my son,"I said to bring them back to the office because your father was getting mad". She also said demo lenses are never returned we already broke rule one time because your father was getting mad. Broke the rule and gave us defective lens. Wow... No one was getting mad, I just called to explain. On the other hand except for one or two women in the office most of them are rude, you go on the front desk, the young girl will ask rudely, do you have an appointment, put your name down on the clipboard and wait etc. Very very rude. I don't need treatment like this and certainly would not go to this place anymore. read more

So on feb 13th I drop my son glasses and they told me it takes one to 2 weeks to get it and the schedule app for the pick up on feb28 th and told they won't call me I have to check for the glasses my self if it's there before the appointment which I did on the 27th of feb after when I call they said ou it's a back order will take another 2 to 3 weeks and try to explain that there is only one laboratory in the state of California that take health plan so that's why? It is taking too long I don't get it ??? That's not the first time I'm getting glasses but I made a mistake to go there and I'm so disappointed because he has to wear it for studying and school requires it for him can't see the bored in the class . Just went to our Saturday morning appointment. First of all, thank you for that convenience my dentist isn't even open on the weekends. Secondly, they not only took care of the 3 out 5 of us that actually had a scheduled appointment but they took care of my daughter and me. We had had an appointment a week earlier but had to rush out and never ordered our glasses. Maria, went ahead and found our information and patiently brought tray after tray of frames for our family of five to pick from, took our measurements and ordered our lenses. She was great. I got new glasses back in July and since I'm still bothered, I am posting today. I asked why I was paying so much out of pocket and I was never told the type of lenses (sapphire) were not covered. I compared receipts/order from the last pair of glasses I got and the only thing that was different was the word sapphire. I again asked the same person if the sapphire lenses were costing me more out of pocket and she again lied and said no. Hopefully she no longer works there. Please beware. As for the reply from Brian Y. In other words, as long as I got the best product possible, it's perfectly fine to offer it in a deceptive manner..right? So the experience was ok. Rushed through the process, they didn't really take time to explain everything. I felt like I was on an assembly line. They said it would take two weeks to get my glasses, so far it's been three and I still don't have them. I am told it isn't their fault, umm yes it is... Okay....I am editing my review. Initially, I gave them 1 star for the rugged experience I initially had....and I was wrong. After giving them another chance, they really showed me how much they cared. Angie was most helpful and when I bumped into her several months later, she remembered my situation and explained why it was such a headache in more detail. Dr. Ng is amazing. After experiencing dry eyes for a few months and going to multiple optometrists, he was the only one to conduct extra tests to better understand what was happening with my eyes. He explained everything and didn't just give me drops (as the prior optometrists had), but gave me insight into how I could help prevent future damage to my eyes. This review is for the optical sales side only not for the doctors. Doctors are great. Sorry this is a long review. I found a specific frame that I really wanted from another optical store but it would be take 4 weeks to get in. So I came here. Optician told me it should only take a week to order the frame. 3 1/2 weeks later the frame finally comes in only after I kept calling week after week. I finally got a call that the frame came in. Great! I made an appointment to come in so I can get fitted etc. when I got in, they couldn't find the frame! Wth? There happened to be a frame sale that day at the office so while they were hunting down frame order I was looking around. And there was my frame.. On display. At this point I'm frustrated. I picked the frame and held on to it. In the meantime the lovely lady comes back and says "here are you frames". She showed me 2 frames that weren't even what I had ordered. Same company diff frame. I told her that's not what I ordered. More frustration. I handed her the frame that I DID want and that should have been ordered but wasn't. We went through the order process fine and I got the hell out. I'm not coming back here to order glasses ever again. Don't come here if you want to order glasses. Go somewhere else. Even Sears optical gives you better service. At least they won't lose your Order and they will call you and keep you updated. read more

I took in my glasses for repair they told me they would be ready the following week. 3 weeks later they called said they were on back-order? they would be ready on the 9th then i get another call still on back-order not ready until the 29th,I theni called today to check status since i have not heard from them they tell me it is still on back order told her i need my glasses she replied it was a manufacture issue not once did she apologize until i got extremely upset she wanted to lend me a pair until my frames came in i got upset again advised her i would pick them up and place tape on them. My family has been doing business with them since 1976 and to be treated in this manner is unacceptable! Beware if you buy lenses from this group.I will never use them again. read more

I have been a patient for a few years. A year and half ago I had an appointment and asked about the bump and inflammation on my eyelid. About 8 months ago I went in for a check up and asked about the irritation again. They claimed it wasn't a problem. I felt they should have referred me to a specialist. I took it upon myself to go to Delta Eye Care. They were very concerned and sent me to a dermatologist for a biopsy. The tests came out positive for cancer and now will have surgery and plastic surgery to repair the eyelid after cancer removal. I am very disappointed I wasn't referred to a specialist in the beginning. read more

No complaints! My husband and I have been going to Tracy Optometry since we moved to Tracy a few years ago and have had great experiences. I've personally been seen by both Dr Molina and Dr Clark and they were both extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The rest of the staff is also very friendly, especially Susan, who was extremely helpful in picking out my newest pairs of frames! Saturdays can get a little busy from what I've seen, but that's to be expected and during the summer months, the farmer's market is right outside, which is an added bonus! The office is extremely clean and well designed and the medical equipment seems very high-tech and advanced (compared to other eye doctors I've been to). Their selection of frames isn't huge but I find that they have great variety and brands in all different price ranges. As long as we're in Tracy, we'll stay loyal to the Tracy Optometry group! read more
