Superb assistance yesterday (and choices of Frames) at Stockton CA Kaiser Permanente Vision Center. I learned you don't have to be a Kaiser member to purchase eyeglasses at Kaiser Vision Centers! I met named Patricia who helps customers select/price and evaluate their options. She was top notch from start to end. I showed her photos of a lens style I liked brought with me, and we reviewed my frame size measurements and my new lens RX. She knew exactly where three frames of my size and lens style/shape were, among the vast array of frames inside dozens of large display cabinets. Kaiser carries SO many choices from extremely affordable to upscale designer. She suggested that I try two additional pairs to simply experiment with different lens shapes. Her input was helpful. I took photos of my four favorite pairs each in a selfie, and then a photo of the four frames lined up by numbers on a nifty template (large white table pad she had made in advance). This allows customers to match to corresponding "numbered" prices/notes she recorded on the Estimate Form with the photo-by-number. This helped me compare choices at home and decide which to purchase. Two hours later, I called the Vision Center, made an appt. for the end of the same day to see Patricia again and ordered my favorite pair! A great experience! read more

Do yourself a favor and chose Costco. I made a mistake and went to Kaiser on Grant Line thinking my appointment was there and they redirected me to the correct place on Naglee. I arrived 9 minutes after my scheduled appointment time of 11:10am. The woman at the check- in Kaur was completely rude and showed no customer service at all. She stated awe thats too bad we're going to have to reschedule you. 9 minutes is crazy work. I should have went anywhere else to begin with. My mistake. Sharing with others now. read more

Vision Essentials by Kaiser Permanente - Building front - Optometrists Near Me - Tracy, California

I had a great experience with Vision Essential, especially with Ms. Suji Eskridge. Her service was both informative and straightforward. The process of selecting and processing my order was so simple that it reassured me that choosing Vision Essential was the right decision for my vision needs. If you're fortunate enough to have Ms. Suji and the wonderful receptionists assist you, you'll receive top-notch service. Thank you once again! I look forward to maintaining my membership with KP Vision Essentials. read more

Terrible customer service at Vision Essentials on Naglee Rd, specifically from Rosalyn. I was told by her employee--after double checking--that I was eligible to receive my prescription glasses. My benefits showed active/green, and my Kaiser app confirms they are active. It has been over 24 months, so eligibility should not have been an issue. The moment I declined the warranty and sunglasses protection, Rosalyn's attitude completely changed. Instead of helping resolve the issue or explaining what the problem was, she repeatedly said "No, you can't" with zero explanation or effort to investigate--despite her coworker clearly seeing my benefits as active. It felt like customer service was shut off simply because I didn't agree to unnecessary add-ons. My time was wasted, and I left with no glasses and no answers. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

The checking in for appointment is decent and eye exams are quick and efficient. BUT the ophthalmology department where you get your fitting of new glasses and lens after your eye exams is terrible. Customer service could be a lot better. Over the years it has declined drastically, you could over hear the workers whole entire personal life dramas and conversations, you can't help but listen because they're so loud and it's a small area; make it for an uncomfortable office setting. And when you ask them anything they have attitude like you're bothering them. You have one job! Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional to say the least. It's like they can't be bothered and they are just sitting there talking to one another like they are not at work?! Don't bother calling because they never answer their phones it's so hard to get ahold of anyone in that office. This particular facility has gone down the drain drastically. I think it is time to find a different place to go. read more

I made a visit here a while back to get a new prescription for my contacts and glasses. The optometrist that helped me was Dr. Chi Ngo, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating to my needs. My visit was completed in a matter of 15 minutes or less, and Dr. Ngo answered every question I had with complete detail. If I could rate just his services, I'd give him a 5/5. The customer service on the other hand, even as seen in the multiple reviews before mine, is incredibly poor. During my visit, they didn't seem very welcoming at all and the person who had checked me in to my appointment seemed rude and in a bad mood. COVID-wise, they're pretty decent in enforcing a safe environment. Chairs in the office are spread apart widely and there's a single hand sanitizer pump when you check in. The staff all wear masks too. My other short-lived experience, I called in to schedule a second appointment to get new glasses with my new prescription, and the woman on the phone who was scheduling me also was incredibly rude. I asked if it'd also be possible to get the lenses of my older glasses replaced, and she responded with a long yet condescending "yes...". Her responses to my other questions were brief and unhelpful. This alone made me cancel my appointment and schedule an appointment elsewhere after reading the other poor reviews regarding the eyeglasses shop. Unless you have Kaiser insurance, I'd recommend going elsewhere for glasses. Otherwise, I would highly recommend Dr. Chi Ngo. read more

Love this place and how well they take care of me! I never feel uncomfortable when I'm here to get my eyes checked

I went in the office thinking the worse and scared out of my mind. Come to find out it was as simple fix. What I thought was cataract surgery was simple dry eye!! I will forever be grateful!!I btw, the eye drops are a game changer!! read more

Was told by the associate that we had a VSP plan that would reimburse us for their VERY overpriced frames and lenses--only, when we submitted the forms, we found out it was nothing more than a six hundred dollar lie. When we inquired, they couldn't care less. Then, when the child's frames broke, we asked if we could replace them or have them fixed. The only option presented was to buy them again at full cost with no option for a warranty-protection on the brand new frame. Their answers to basic questions are inconsistent from one associate to the next, their prices are double what we found elsewhere, and they seem to be so short-staffed that nobody there seems to care if customers are happy or could be repeat customers. It's all about getting through the shift and getting home. No pride in their work. No appreciation for customers. No competitive pricing. GO ELSEWHERE!!! read more

Stopped in today to get an eye exam knowing that they are part of Kaiser. Warmly greeted and even though I didn't have an appointment, since they weren't busy they took me right away. It was a relief to know that I don't need glasses or have any prescription for my eyes. The optician was very professional. I will be back for my next eye exam in 6 months or so. read more

Went here on a Saturday to order glasses. The girl who greeted me at the door was very nice. After doing a temperature check (due to COVID precautions) and having my daughter and I hand sanitize she let one of the other ladies know that I was there to order glasses. I'm believe she's an optical technician. She greets me then immediately says in a condescending tone that I was late for my appointment and that they want to finish this fast. I found out that my appointment was at 3:10 instead of 3:50. Ok I'll take ownership of the fact that I got my appointment time wrong (however I will say that no appointment reminder was sent AND it's not an appointment that you can view on KP.org). Honest mistake. But I understand the frustration when people are late for appointments. HOWEVER my daughter and I were the ONLY ONES in the place besides the employees. I would've understood if there were others waiting but there weren't and if there were I would have happily rescheduled or waited. She rushed me through selecting my glasses. She seemed to be a little nicer once she was working at the computer....maybe because she saw that I have an employee discount. Yup, I work for KP. Anyway we finished with my order and we left....with no new patients arriving after me. Oh and it wasn't like they were closing anytime soon. It took maybe 10, 15 minutes max. Work on that customer service! We get tons of training on that for work. 2 stars for cleanliness and the friendliness of the other employees. read more

Needed to get reading glasses for just reading at home because my progressives weren't working well enough for small print reading even though it's only been a year. The earliest appointment I could get was THREE months out. I went to another optical, got a good exam for free the next day and will have a pair of reading glasses and fine print reading glasses in two weeks.... all for $69. A couple of days later I noticed that one of the nose cushion piece on my progressives had come off. I went to Kaiser Gilroy to have them do the 2 minute job of putting a new one on and was told I had to have an appointment and was given one for a couple of hours later which meant another round trip. read more

Excellent service! Although I have VSP, Davis, and Kaiser coverage I always go to Kaiser for my eye exam. We visited yesterday and our favorite person helped us find glasses, Rosalyn is so helpful, kind and patient. My 7 year old just got her first pair of glasses with Rosalyns guidance and we couldn't be happier. The doctors are knowledgeable and gave great advice regarding the use of glasses moving in to the new school year. Love this place! Tip: YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! read more

This was actually my second visit unfortunately I didn't write a review on the first visit! Everyone is very welcoming. Dr. Rohini Madala is super nice, very efficient and extremely easy to work with. To my surprise, I received an follow up email regarding my appointment. Dr. Madala was kind enough to email me suggestions with preventive health reminders pertaining to my vision. I am still in need of a higher prescription of eye glasses, I felt extremely good about the care that I received during my visit at Vision Essentials by Kaiser Permanente. And will continue to put my trust in Dr. Madala and her staff. read more

Don't come to this optical center unless you are on Kaiser insurance. Zero star if I could. A so-called specialist fit my 3 year old with a huge oversized frame, that keeps falling on her. When I went pick up and adjust the frame, another specialist questioned me why did I pick such a large frame for my kid. Speechless. We did asked to be readjusted and order a properly fit frame. We will have to pay for that 2nd pair, instead of just returning the first unfit pair. Never again!!!!! read more

I'd give Jay a 5 star rating for sure, that being said I have had the absolute worst experience with this place and it's because of the 2 ladies thst work up front. First the lady breaks my glasses and I had to wear the broken glasses for 2 weeks so about a month it took for me to get my first pair of glasses ever. The first set of lenses had a weird drip effect in the middle of the lenses, they finally got me another pair but that paid had a crease in the lense so the lady sent them back before I got them so I wait another 2 weeks and now they refuse to give me my pair of glasses because they wanted my back up pair of glasses that I was wearing. The one lady thst broke my glasses the first time was extremely rude and seemed almost petty and like an ex girlfriend and treated me like as I have done something wrong. Here I am waiting on this pair of glasses and now that they know me they make the situation so much more worse and awkward. Not sure if it's because of my ethnicity or the way I look but I work as an HR Professional and I can definitely tell you that the way they treat "certain" people is not Professional and comes off extremely offensive. They argued with me (mainly the lady that broke my glasses the first time) I'm blown away on how I have been treated. Keep in mind I didn't have insurance at the time and paid full price out of pocket. The actual optometrist I would highly recommend her because she did her job and didn't let what's going on outside of work interfere with her work ethics and thst goes for Jay as well. Hopefully they clean shop up because those 2 ladies really need an attitude adjustment! read more

Vision Essentials by Kaiser Permanente - Also I didn't order blue light but look what I got!! The reflection was so bad I could see my own eyeballs I the reflection. - Optometrists Near Me - Tracy, California

I booked an appt online for contacts only since my rx is expired. My glasses rx is current, so I wore my glasses to the appt. Dr Pamela Murphy asked me why wasn't I wearing my contacts, that she couldn't help me all bc I wasn't wearing contacts! I've been wearing both glasses & contacts since I was a child & I've NEVER been told this before! She also asked me why I didn't get my contacts rx from the same optometrist who prescribed me my glasses, as if it's any of her business! She asked me "didn't they tell you you have to wear your contacts and bring in the box for your appt?" Uh no bc I made my appt ONLINE for contacts ONLY! Anyway, requiring a person to be wearing his/her contacts is ludicrous! And telling a person that your hands are tied just bc your pt isn't wearing contacts is ridiculous. Good thing I have other options, never again will I nor my family go here again! read more

It gets worse. June 5, 2017 and another update: I finally got a call last week to come and get my glasses on Friday. I was out of town and told them I'd be there first thing on Monday, that's today. I drove 25 miles there to find the old broken frames in the case instead of the new frames and lenses. Evidently, the lab still had them. But they said they were ready last week. So, I lost it. I yelled at everyone. Went postal with a tad jihadist too. I mean to say I got righteously righteous. BOOM! Wouldn't you? When we pieced my calm back together again they said the glasses were on their way from the lab. When? This afternoon. I'm not waiting here with a bunch of morons who can't shoe me a little bit of professional know how. So, I said call me. But make sure they are ready. I have to drive 50 miles round trip and you're taking 100 miles of my gas money today already. They called at 1PM. Hesitantly I drove back. I got my glasses. They are finally fixed. They worked I am still wearing them. I can see again. Hardly a word was spoken this time. Adios! No! I am NOT going to apologize for anything I said to them this morning. In fact, I am still working real hard to keep my trap shut. I want to follow up with what I am thinking. BAD! BAD! WRONG! NO! As I write to you, my fellow consumers, about the worst care I have ever received from optometry, I must warn you too. Kaiser's eye care business is no longer a good topic around this guy. In fact, I think this is my last word on being in a room full of people who act like they are doofests. read more

The OD was great and took all the time needed. The eye glass shop people was terrible the person trying to help me get some glasses never looked up. Absolutely disappointed! I called and made appt earlier in the week really need a eye exam, and new glasses. I went to Tracy Kaiser facility to find out that it is a different entity and location. So I drove to the location as directed. A pon arrival (10 min late) the receptionist was rude, and basically told me I was sh*t out of luck! If I wanted I could wait but no promise I'll be seen this day. So reschedule or wait! Now I look around and there's 2other employees at there desk talking and I'm the only person in the lobby! I asked..... Are you that busy were I can't be seen still? Yes we are she said! Wow¡ I left pissed a total was of my time and gas! I have a family of 7 we all wear glasses or contacts. Also I have double coverage of VSP along with being a Kaiser member for over 30 years.... And I wouldn't patronize this business if it was free! read more

Very nice area & building, very rood and ghetto staff, lots of mistakes made. You make an appointment and your spot is given away to whom their rood staff desires. I've been having a similar experience with Kaiser Vision Essentials frames and lenses. My last pair I'm stuck with now. I have blurry vision at night through the lenses Ive also noticed they didn't fit the lens in the frame correctly and it sticks out. Very disappointed!! They also charged me an additional $15-$20 on a frame that I previously bought from them (double-dipping) and decided to use again and not purchase a new frame. When I asked if they could waive that fee I was told no, however, I was there on a different day and over heard "Gary" tell another member that he would waive her fee once she decided to purchase her eyewear. I can go on and on but I won't. Just not read more

Seen by Dr. Madala yesterday and she is soooo nice. Friendly staff and optician who helped me pick out glasses right then and there. Got all the snazzy anti-reflective, polycarbonate transition lenses and she told me 8- 10 days. Sounds good to me. I'm sitting on a pair of glasses that are like 3 years old. Super duper time to upgrade. If you live in Tracy and have Kaiser. I'd highly highly recommend Dr. Madala! I was in and out in an hour with the exam and my purchase. read more

Not happy with Kaiser's Optometry. Went to get new glasses, First pair I received where the wrong prescription. My distance was blurry. Took them back. Next pair I received had horrible glare at night with oncoming cars. Said I didn't ask for antiglare. Who wouldn't want anti glare. So I paid $40 for antiglare. Well i figured third time is charm. Wrong. Still have glare at night. My last glasses I received from Walmart. Got the prescription from Kaiser, frame and lenses from Walmart. No problem, no glare at night. And they where cheaper. Paid over $350 at Kaiser with a $150 discount. I learned a expensive lesson. Kaiser has overpriced frame and lousy lenses. Do yourself a favor. Check out Walmart, or any other place before you get glasses at Kaiser. This review was ment for Napa Kaiser. But imagine they all about the same. Over price for what you get. read more

A so-so place to go to if you don't have another option. Fortunately I can go elsewhere... which I will do. After getting my eye exam done, I asked if they could measure my pupillary distance and the woman told me it's a $20 charge! Ridiculous. read more

First time here today and I was called into the exam room pretty quickly. I hate the air shot to the eye balls! But it had to be done. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. I had to have a retenal exam so as my eyes were dilating, I was checking out frames. Once I was no longer able to read the prices, a helpful employee read them off to me. The dilation took about 25 minutes, while the eye Dr seen other people. All together, I was in there for a little over an hour for an eye exam and review of my results. read more

When it first opened, about six years ago, I viewed the technical evaluation was skillful and trustworthy, but the selection of frames for men was minimal, and the prices for lenses were astronomical--I had my Rx filled elsewhere. But, a few years ago, I returned for my free checkup and found a HUGE CHANGE: far more men's frames; far lower prices on frames and lenses; more discounts offered. THIS was the kind of professionalism coupled with value which I expected from Kaiser. Today, in the midst of Covid CRAZINESS, I found continued outstanding, and thorough, evaluation provided by Dr. ELLEN McCRARY and expert advice from Optician MICHAEL HAGGLUND (Navy Vet Corpsman [pronounced "core-man" not "corpse-man"]). Quite simply, the CLEANEST medical facility I have ever visited in this city. Staff was constantly circulating to disinfect and reorganize every tool and space. Dr. McCRARY was meticulous in her examination based on a series of risk factors I bear, including diabetes, history of retinal detachment, and more. Her recommendations regarding lenses, coatings, and so forth were translated into a new set of superior glasses by Mr. HAGGLUND--and the price was fair for "superior value received". Sure, I could pay less at some "fly-by-night" store, or "save" with some unknown "online, by mail" service, but as a senior concerned about retaining all of my sight, I would not go anywhere else. Kaiser again came through for me. read more
