I'm so glad I picked this place for our yearly eye exam. The staff was ver efficient. At no time were we waiting around to talk to anyone. The doctor came in, examined us, explained things well, and was out. He didn't take terribly long where we're wondering when this will be over. One of the girls in the front helped my daughter pick her glasses. She was SO patient while it took my daughter about 45 minutes to pick a pair. The Doctor takes their time going over the results and explains any questions that you have. I would put 0 stars but that isn't an option. My family and I have gone to Tracy Optometry Group for many years. One of my children has special needs, the staff has always been patient with her as well as the doctors. My daughters eyes change often so I take her every 6 months. I had made an apt at the beginning of January and was able to schedule a 1/31 apt. 2 weeks prior to her apt she had fallen face first at school and broke her glasses in half at the nose piece. I called to see if we can get in sooner and nothing. So I glued her glasses and waited for her original apt. 1/30 comes and I call because I hadn't received the usual apt reminder email or call. I was upset when I was told the apt was cancelled. The appointment specialist said it was her mistake and that I never called back with my insurance information. I have insurance but I do have to pay cash too because I take my daughter so often. Insurance only covers for 1 checkup and 1 pair of glasses per year, we go twice yearly. So why would you cancel the apt for no insurance information? Didn't make sense. I was then told they could reschedule for 2/14! I told the specialist I couldn't believe we will have to wait that long and she stated that since my child is special needs, she takes longer and that is hard to accommodate, then she continued to say that it is notes in their system and that is the doctors request. Shame on Tracy Optometry. I am so insulted. Last I checked people with disabilities shouldn't get discriminated against. The last visit we were in and out in 45 minutes-that was with the exam, picking out glasses, getting measured for glasses, plus we had to wait 10 minutes because the doctor was running late. Never again will I ever step foot in Tracy Optometry. read more

Yesterday was my first time at Tracy Optometry. Everyone was very nice, courteous, and professional. Office staff assisted me with paperwork which took hardly anytime. I like the fact they emailed me a patient form to complete. The technician was very thorough and explained everything to me. Dr Clark was amazing she made me understand everything that was happening and results of each test. The eyeglass guy explained my insurance thoroughly and helped me make my final decision on glasses. They made me aware of the pricing of each test and asked me if I wanted one test. Called for appointment and expected to be told that I would need to wait a couple of weeks. I was scheduled the next afternoon. Exam went well. Dr. Moline was professional and knowledgeable yet friendly. A tough balance to be sure. All the staff I spoke with were polite and courteous. Office was busy but there was never an real wait for service. Another poster commented about the $25 fee for eye imaging. I will gladly pay a nominal fee for that instead of having my eyes not work well for 3 or 4 hours. Perhaps he had better insurance than I do but I was grateful for a low-cost option that permitted me to leave and be able to drive safely. I would recommend this business to anyone needing their eyes checked. My glasses will be ready next week! read more

I've been going there for several years. They seem knowledgeable & have all the latest technology to do their eye assessments and a great variety of fashionable frames to choose from. Their prices are ok but the anti glare and scratch proof protection aren't covered by my insurance which make the out of pocket expenses a lot higher. Their staff is friendly but sometimes I feel like they are a bit green out of school so they don't have the personal professional skills needed to work with mature clients. As other yelpers have already mentioned my checkup also felt very rushed. I was charged $200 for a 30 min visit...a majority of which was spent waiting in the lobby. I was told my eye would "probably be fine in a couple days" and was sent on my way...no additional information, no eye drops, no vision testing, nothing. My gut told me that this was just a money grab so I went directly to Berkeley to get a 2nd opinion. Turns out the "black spots" I'm seeing are actually blood on the outside/inside of my eye due to vitreous hemorrhage. My issue is obviously less with the cost & more with the fact that a "professional" would play games with anyones vision this way. Not to be dramatic but worst case scenario I could have lost vision in my eye. Im glad I trusted my instincts & had my eye checked in time by one of the best programs at Berkeley. In comparison to tracy, the equipment/service seemed exponentially better, they inspected my eyes for almost a hour, told me exactly what was going on & gave me drops so I wouldn't get an infection in my eye AND they actually sounded like they cared. The crazy part is all of this at Berkeley cost me LESS then in the middle-of-no-where tracy. I was told at Berkeley that this is a much more serious issue then "probably be fine in a couple days" luckily I should recover in a month or 2. Hopefully this place gets there act together & gives people the help they deserve. read more

The examine was easy and complete. I wanted just some inexpensive glasses, but paid way too much for them. When I made the appointment they called me three times before my appointment and twice the morning of the appointment to remind me. On my appointment day to pick up my glasses, I was there on time and had to wait for 15 minutes only to be told they hadn't come in and they forgot to call me. I live on the east side of Modesto and the time it takes me to go to Tracy is almost an hour and they wanted me to come back in the afternoon. They are mailing me my glasses and I have to have them fitted somewhere else. I am going to try and get my money back and let them keep the glasses. Also I'm letting Medicare know of the treatment. read more

The customer service we recieved from Toni was outstanding, she was patient and thorough. She helped meand two other family members with our glasses. She was able to find a pair that my teenage daughter liked. No small task! Annie was also very helpful with the insurance portion. Great Drs (we saw both between the 3 of us) and staff. The selection of frames was really nice and in a wide range of prices. I can appreciate that even though I have good insurance my daughter needed back up glasses which I paid cash for and received a 30% discount when I ordered them the day of the exam. read more

Tracy Optometry, in general, is first rate. The doctors and staff are excellent. I've seen Doctors Moline and Yee over the years I've been going there, and trust them completely with my eye health. Now, I have to say that the front of the house, specifically the opticians, are very good, but the person I go to every time is Susan. Susan genuinely cares, and her opinion, when asked for, is always honest. She has never tried to "sell" me frames and lenses, but she has guided me and my choices, and explained my options clearly and accurately. I hope Susan never leaves this practice, if she does, I'll either have to find another optician, or follow her to wherever she moves to. Yes, she IS just that good! You won't go wrong with the doctors here, or with Susan (you may have to make an appointment to meet with her, she's always in demand and has quite a following). 9/27/16-Update: picked up my new specs this afternoon. I walked in and asked for Susan. When she was free, we sat down at her desk and she presented my new Ray-Ban New Wayfarers to me. Flawless! Yeah, I know she didn't make the frames, and she didn't grind and shape the lenses (they were done by the VSP lab), but still...ya know? The doc got the prescription changes right, Susan ordered them correctly, she checked them over when they came in, and on the phone she assured me that they looked great...and they do!! Another satisfied customer. And, in case I didn't mention it before, these are my 3rd pair of Rx specs from this joint. So for the past 3 years I have been coming here, but after this last visit on 12/03/15; this will be my last time. So I didn't make an appointment, I show up in the middle of the day and the door is closed; I guess they are having a meeting but how about a sign on the door for your patients? This should have been my sign to go home and come back for some other day. So I decide to go run around and do some other stuff and come back later. I go back and they put me with a new employee, but forgot to tell me about it. And the minute I sit down "The Manager" walked by and then sat right across from us; not a I'm here to help, but way but a uncomfortable way. He finally came over to help this poor girl, which is what he should have done in the first place, no one has all day to sit here. Then I find out somethings has really changed. For example last time when you order your glasses, you put down half of what your your insurance doesn't cover and pay the rest when you pick up. Well Nope not anymore you now have to pay it all up front. When asked "Mr Manager" told me we don't do that anymore; so I said so you guys changed your that in the past year? Did you send out a letter to inform your Customers? Well I was told "No" because they didn't have to do that anyways; so no letter was needed to sent out; they just did it just to help people out and after some people wasn't paying their bill the doctors decided to stop doing it. I paid extra to have an anti scratch put onto my pair of glasses last year and guess what? I had a nice big scratch and when I asked about it; I was told well you will still get scratches; but it's still within warranty so we will send it out and fix it. I thought that's the point of paying not to get scratches??? After this visit, they have lost me as a customer. Costco has better service than this and their prices are better also. read more

Rude staff and they are not personable. Not sure if they are not trained well with relating to customers. Annie was really rude while taking my order for my contacts. I don't feel too comfortable with them taking my card information over the phone. THEY WRITE YOUR CARD INFORMATION OUT ON PAPER AND WALK ACROSS THE OFFICE AND ENTER THE INFORMATION. NOT SAFE AT ALL. There should be an option to pay online or when we pick up. When I had asked if there was a different option, she rudely cut me off and said no. I had asked for a manager, she puts me on hold while I was talking and transferred me off. I was going out of town and I had asked that they contact me as soon as possible when they come in. I contacted every day and they kept telling me it wasnt in. It was taking longer than usual. Finally I just waited for them to contact me. Days went by so I contacted them the day I had to leave to see if they came in or not. I called and they said my contacts had been there for a few days now! I was so upset. I had specifically told them to contact me and now I had to hold my plans because of their mistake. 2nd mistake I made was continuing my stay with them. I left messages to order contacts and didnt get no reply. This happens all the time. The only way you can actually get help is if you walk in only to be greeted at the desk by a rude office assistant. They look like they are having the worst days ever. Worst office atmosphere I have ever seen. I called and they couldnt find my medical information and UNLIKE other medical offices, I just give them my information and they take care of EVERYTHING. Don't waste your time. The staff are not trained well and are rude/unprofessional people. Only plus clean office BUT nasty attitudes. Customers dont have to go through what I went through again. I would go to Eaton Optometric, Dr Balestrery and their staff are really nice. The doctor makes you feel comfortable and staff are easy to talk to. I will be going back to them even if their office is smaller! read more

I wish I could give you zero stars. When I ordered my glasses I specifically stated that I lived an hour away and could only pick them up on Saturdays. I was assured that you were open on Saturdays until 1pm. I left 3 messages with no response. I came to your store 2 times on Saturday to pick up my glasses all the lights were on and you were in there but no one came to the door. If you say that I can come on a Saturday until 1 you need to be open. At least answer your phone so I can talk to a real person and not your answering machine. Also if on Saturdays you only accept appointments you should have told me that when you assured me you would be open. Now I have to wait another week to get my glasses. Someone has to pick them up for me and I have to get them adjusted and fitted by another optometry center since I'm unable to pick them up myself. Your customer service is not up to par and I will never use you again nor will I refer anyone to your business. read more

This place is a total rip off. They'll charge you fees every step of the way. Even with insurance it cost me $70 for an eye exam, and they wanted to charge me $200+ for contacts. Last eye doctor I went to I paid my $10 copay plus the amount in excess of my insurance payment, which wound up being only $20. For $30 I got a years supply of contacts and an eye exam. Tracy optometry has already charged me double that. I took my prescription and ordered contacts elsewhere. Definite opportunists at Tracy optometry. read more

My mom went in today around 10AM. The lady asked what insurance my mom had and my mom replied with her insurance group. The lady then flat out said that they can't take her in today because they only take 2 week out appointments. My mom then tried to make an appointment when the lady flat out said no. AND she had the audacity to say nope guess I can't help you. Excuse me? She was extremely disrespectful and if she can't be nice to CUSTOMERS maybe she shouldn't work for a practice group. The tone in her voice made me question why she would EVER be hired at such a place. The most rude employee I have ever come across. I expected higher customer service from a place like this. Maybe they shouldn't hire people who have low standards. NEVER WILL I EVER LET MY MOTHER GO INTO A RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, DISGUSTING PLACE LIKE THIS EVER AGAIN !!! Also she was trying to make an appointment after the 2 weeks that are 'busy'. All she wanted was an appointment. It doesn't excuse the fact that your EMPLOYEES were disrespectful. I ordered a pair of Oakley eye glasses from Tracy Optometry and about two weeks after I got them I accidentally stepped on them. I thought for sure they were history. I took them back because I had insurance on them; however, I was totally blown away when Susan told me she thoughts she could repair them. I was skeptical, but when I picked them up they looked like new! Incredible! And there were no charges. About two weeks later I couldn't believe it when I dropped them and again a wire holding the glass in broke. Again, the staff at Tracy Optometry didn't hesitate and fixed them in an hour again, with no charge!! The staff here are very helpful and are very sincere about helping the customer. What is impressive is the consistent, professional service you get from each person there!! I am a long term customer!! read more
