We ordered the regular strawberry lycée green milk tea with less ice and less sugar with honey boba and a large lavender black milk tea with less ice and less sugar with honey boba. The strawberry lycée green milk tea was okay. To be honest, I only tasted the strawberry unfortunately. I've had Tpumps in the past in the Bay Area and know that I usually can taste both flavors. Less sweet was still a bit sweet but tolerable. The honey boba was the best part. Tpumps never fails to give good chewy tasting boba which is the one thing I like most of Tpumps. The Lavender black milk tea tasted good but it did not taste anything like lavender. It actually tasted more like caramel. I was not sure if they made a mistake on this or not because the writing says LAV, but the person making it maybe thought it was Car for caramel? (See photo attached). If it was caramel, than it was perfect, but if that is what lavender is suppose to taste like, there was zero lavender flavor to it. Overall, definitely get the boba. But if it doesn't taste like the flavor you are expecting, maybe ask them remake it? I already left the area and did not want to drive back and pay for parking to get the drinks fixed unfortunately. read more

A grab and go boba shop. Their boba texture is very good - big and soft pearls. However, I am not a big fan of the drinks themselves, as the teas taste artificial and syrupy. Used to love this place a few years back. Now it seems to have changed. Quality of the tea and boba has downgraded. The rose vanilla milk tea tasted like super sweet syrup. It was quite difficult to finish the entire drink. The boba was flavorless and kind of hard in the center. Considering it is HONEY boba and not regular boba, I expected there to be some sweetness. I did go in the morning though, so maybe they gave me old boba that was leftover from the previous day. My other drinks were ok. They still have the $2 daily specials, which vary from day to day. These drinks are pre-packed, so you can't add any toppings or adjust the sugar level. It's a good deal if you like the daily tea flavors offered, but none of them ever really appeal to me. Prices here are on the lower end. If you want a cheap drink and don't care so much for quality, then this is your place. I would stick with the fruity flavors. I like the overall customization concept. There are a lot of flavors to choose from. However, many of them appear to be artificial. Tpumps is ok overall. The oolong is not available on the online menu, but is when you order in store and is a $1 extra. As other milk tea aficionados likely know, the strength of the tea flavor often is dampened by the addition of milk. So the happy accident that I forgot to order milk meant I got to taste the full flavor of their oolong tea. Which tasted like black tea. The characteristic nutty flavor of oolong tea was COMPLETELY absent. Their boba were nicely chewy, the honey flavor weak. They happened to have free samples available which was their normal sweetness which was helpful to me to order less sweet. I love their big cup Tuesdays! With this promotion, their Tuesdays are the busiest and I believe they don't take orders online/over the phone since they are busy. When I pass by Pasadena, I always check first if the line is long. If it is, I skipped it and if there's no line, I will stop by. Honestly, parking here is such a pain because you'd have to pay $1 for street parking. I wanted to park, get my drink, and leave. It's just an extra step to pay at the meter but that's the rule. It's not worth getting a parking ticket for. When I tried Tpumps the very first time, I couldn't taste any tea leaf flavor. To me, it's all syrup. I don't mind though. My favorite drink is their Rose Vanilla Green Milk Tea (the first on the customer's favorite list). My only complaint is that the drink is bland when you order a big cup. I think they need to readjust the syrup/sugar measurement when making drinks in the big cup. I noticed it seems to be an issue here and honestly, I won't want to ask them to remake my drink all the time. I just ask for extra sweet when I order the big cup. My adventurous friend kept choosing odd flavor combination for her drink and it came out awful every single time. I told her she needs to stop and maybe just pick out the combination they suggested instead. I do like their $2 specials in the fridge (special of the day drinks). I went into the Pasadena location on 4/29/25 at 11am and had the most unpleasant experience with the manager. I was ordering drinks for my staff at a preschool, and had 11 drinks to order. The young lady at the counter started taking my order and was quite quick and accurate with it. When she was almost finished, the manager (I'm assuming) came up and said to her "what are you doing? no more than 6 orders per person on Tuesdays!" She then scolded her several times while my drinks were being prepared. Asked if I had brought a box to carry them in, then rolled her eyes because I had not (who does that?). Then told ME that I can't order more than 6 drinks at a time. I checked the catering option and the minimum is 15 drinks - I only needed 11. Nowhere on the website or in the store does it state this policy. What are you supposed to do if you want to order between 7 and 14 drinks?! I asked the manager her name, and her response was "Why??" I said "Because you're so rude and I'd like to remember you." She refused to give me her name, but was able to tell me again that I can't order more than 6 drinks.The drinks were actually ready quite quickly (within 10 mins) and I don't think it delayed them too much. I was just shocked at this lady's meanness. I don't ever have to see her again (won't be going back there), but I feel bad for the poor employees working under her. She made everyone extremely uncomfortable - the employees, myself, and the other customers in the store. I will add that before I wrote this review, I attempted to call their main phone number - it rang and rang, then said that voicemail was full. I also attempted to fill out their contact form on the website - no response. So I'm left with this. No one should be treated the way this woman treats people, especially in a job where you have to interact with new customers regularly. read more

It was a really hot day in Pasadena, my girlfriend recommended that we go here for a refreshing drink. I was impressed with how quick the service was and how fast we got the drinks. I wasn't really looking at the prices but when the drink came out to be $5 flat I was shocked with how cheap a drink like this would be. I'm used to getting charged at least $6+ for something even smaller but coming here changed my perspective. We got the POG Green tea with boba and it was very refreshing. Having it sip by sip throughout the afternoon was very nice and relaxing. The sample drink they had out was the raspberry pomegranate black tea and wow I was surprised by how good that tasted. Raspberry almond roca milk tea - I got 75% sweet and it was still VERY sweet. I wish I got 50%. However it was still very good. You can really taste the raspberry and almond. Mango passion fruit green tea - also very sweet but really good. You can really taste the individual flavors although I'm pretty sure they use syrup so it might not be the best for you. Great drinks. They use artificial flavoring syrup in their tea drinks, but it tastes really good once in awhile. I stick to my mango peach vanilla, and got my mom lavender guava peach and she enjoys it. Their drinks come with free boba if you choose to add it. The boba is cooked well and soft and easy to chew. My kids LOVE this place so I decided to come and see what all the hype is about. My kids said to come on a Tuesday because you can get a free upgrade, but there's a line so be prepared to have a little of a wait. They also told me to park across the street for free at one of the malls. It was a short walk, but definitely worth it because trying to find meter parking closer to the shop was impossible. SO MANY CHOICES so I was glad there was a little wait. While waiting I also got to enjoy the free sample which was yummy. I noticed there's no place to sit so definitely order and go. I also found out that they do catering whether it's for a birthday party, wedding, or baby shower. They also do school fundraisers. Enjoyed my large drink with boba. The tea is usually pretty good based on who is making it. As previous Yelpers commented, the tea flavor can be lacking. This could be due to new employees constantly cycling through. Service for the most part is very friendly with the exception of an older Caucasion woman who is horrendously bitter and rude hence the 2 stars. Their employee turnaround seems pretty high as we don't see the same employees after a couple months except for this older woman who lashes out at customers. This is really sad since the customers who frequent this place seem pretty nice and chill. read more

What a delicious boba place! I wanted an after dinner dessert and drove over to Tpumps. There was a small line when I got there on a Saturday night. My one minor complaint about my experience is that the line moved a little slowly. There was 1 register and I saw that the employee was trying to work as fast as possible. But, it seems like the ratio people making drink to the cash register differed. I think that the register was moving slowly because apparently you can buy shirts and they will give you a free drink. One of the people ahead of me looked at variety of shirts and was holding up the line. As for the menu, it was pretty extensive. I love how they give you a choice to build your own boba. (DIY boba). I have been other boba places try this, but it is very limited. This was a full menu of ingredients. The other thing I want to mention is how cheap it was. I got 3 bobas and they were about 12 bucks. I opted for the oolong tea and honey boba. Since there were so many workers making drink, my drink came out very quickly. The drink was delicious. My tea was not over brewed and the honey boba was fresh and chewy. I grabbed my drink and walked around the neighborhood (there is a few stores that you can look around like Ross and TJ Maxx) since there is no seating in the store. On my way back, I saw that there was huge line outside. I guess I came at the perfect time for boba. I will definitely come back here again for my boba. read more

I've been going to TPUMPS ever since it opened in Pasadena years ago. I would say that this boba place is a hit or a miss- a miss if you have no idea what flavors you're mixing together. It's basically a build your own boba drink: 1. Pick a size 2. Pick your flavors 3. Pick your tea 4. Pick your milk 5. Pick your sweetness 6. Pick your toppings I would highly recommend getting their boba. I personally don't like boba in my drinks, but their boba is actually a really good consistency. My personal basic go to would be a rose vanilla black milk tea. But on my creative day, I would order a raspberry marshmallow coconut black milk tea. WHAT?! I know. It sounds like a crazy combo but you really have to try it. The flavor is just indescribable. Also, what if you don't end up liking your drink? Maybe it's too sweet? Maybe your flavor choice was just not it sis? No problemo! They'll make a new one for you! Parking is not the best but not the hardest. Pasadena is just a parking nightmare lol. But I would park on the street right in front. There are two lots around the location, but I'm pretty sure they're not for TPUMPS, so I wouldn't risk it. That was a little surprising since it wouldn't take a lot to make that flavor bhut I do get the pandemic has created some challenges.
