The bad news: Two broken cell phone screens on separate phones in one week…read more The good news: Sozo cell phone repair made it all better. I was sure my iPhone 6 Plus was toast after I smashed the screen to smithereens when I fell while running. I literally braced myself on top of the phone as I fell full force on the concrete. Every inch of the screen was splintered. I hardly believed the man at Sozo when he said he'd have it fixed in 45 minutes....for $129. It would have cost $600-$700 to get a new phone (maybe more?). My daughter's phone wasn't quite as bad. She dropped it on a pebbly sidewalk in front of a friend's house-one corner shattered. Sozo only charged $99 to fix her iPhone 6 screen. Both phones now have new screens and screen protectors...thanks Sozo. I hope I don't see you for a long, long while, but I appreciate your speedy service, reasonable prices and honesty.

This is a review I still cannot believe I'm writing. The events that occurred during my visit to…read morethis business are like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. On my initial visit it was a simple as a iPhone screen repair. I usually take my phone to my favorite place in Plano, but figured I'd give this place a try since its in Allen. I foolishly did not look at previous reviews, otherwise I would not have come here. I walk in and explain the problem. The screen won't come one and is just black. They fixed the screen, while they were much more expensive than the place I typically go to, the screen is repaired, and I leave with a working phone. A few days later, the screen goes black for no reason and has a line down the middle. Nothing was done to the phone to cause this. I bring the phone in and show him that the phone screen is blank with a line through it. He immediately starts ranting that I pressed the screen too hard, which makes no sense since the phones being used as normal and has been used as normal. This is pretty annoying, and I let him know that it is not normal for a screen to go bad because you think someone pressed too hard, its a poor excuse. I then look at the receipt and see that the receipt states there is a 60 day warranty unless the screen is cracked or there is water damage. I let him know this. Then he changes his story, and he tells me he thinks my screen is water damaged. At this point, he hasn't even looked at the phone or held the phone. I let him see the phone. While he's holding phone, I take a picture of him... I know I'm going to want to have this picture and I know I'm going to leave a bad review. He tells me don't take my picture or I'll keep your phone. I tell him give me my damn phone back, you can't keep my phone because you're mad at me. At this point, I'm pretty annoyed and I tell him he needs to fix my phone, he walks out of the room and goes back for a long while. Next thing you know the police are there. This is one of those situations where his level of escalation is inappropriate and just shows how far a dishonest person will go to justify their theft. Luckily, Allen Police Department is pretty awesome, I explained to the officers what occurred, they kindly explain to me that there is no recourse other than to have a report with call notes created by them. I got the report with notes from them, and from this point, I will take this to small claims court. So to be clear, I took my phone in for a repair, the repair worked for three days, then stopped, and the repair person tells me that it is my fault the repair did not work. He wouldn't fix the screen or refund me, and insult to injury, he called the police on me. This level of escalation is both irresponsible and dangerous. I will never shop here again, and will review anywhere I can to let the world know that if you have a repair done here, they will not back the product, will lie, and at some point may even call the police on you. What an embarrassment for a location like this to be in Allen.

Listen to Vinay O.'s review of this place. If I could give 0 stars, I would…read more I sent in my desktop computer because the RAM recently failed a boot cycle, which fried the SSD to the point that it could not have been repaired. After doing my own research, I decided that it would be best if I send in to a 'professional' to get it replaced and have the set up done. Once I got it back, everything ran considerably slower - The boot times went from a couple of seconds to 5+ minutes. I had to do my own research to discover that when they put in the new SSD, that was all they did. When they set up the new OS on my computer, they did not even bother to initialize the new SSD. That means that my computer was completely unaware that my SSD even existed. So for about 1.5 weeks, my computer has been running everything on the HDD, which even the most clueless of computer owners know is not right. It took me 30 seconds of googling to discover the proper procedure to follow in order to actually repair the issue from start to finish, and these guys managed to take about 2 weeks to do it, and they did it wrong. Find somewhere else to get your expensive electronics fixed, because these guys do not know what they are doing. Also the place reeked of sewage.

Dr Smart Phones was running an add on fb to fix iPhone 6 - !!!…read moreBUT - I drove to the wrong Dr of cell phone repair - the place I ended up (Dr Cell Phone) offered to match the price. I'm lazy - I had Dr Cell Phone fix my cracked screen - WHAT A STUPID MISTAKE THAT WAS! They aligned the screen incorrectly so that when it was sealed, it was bearing pressure - eventually the screen gave way to a new crack after only a few days. The phone had been cased the whole time and never experienced any sort of impact. Dr. Evil Cell Phone refused to repair or refund - . It was obvious they had no clue what had happened .... Dr Smart Phone knew right away - they were able to clearly see that the crack was a result of a misaligned screen repair. They offered me their same discount (it was expired) - I left knowing the repair had been done right. Thanks, guys, you'll always have my business!!
