One of the best basic milk tea spots here in the bay area. TP Tea doesn't have any crazy looking drinks and keeps everything simple. As a result of that, every type of tea they have are equally as good. Their milk teas have a perfect balance of creaminess and tea flavor, while their regular teas also have tons of flavor while not being too bitter. Service is slow at times because of how many togo online orders they get, but I would say everything is worth the wait. Boba Milk Tea: This is what everyone should get when they are craving a basic milk tea. Everything about this drink is amazing from flavors to consistency to the boba. Their boba has the perfect texture, not too big or small and not too chewy or hard. The milk tea is a bit on the sweeter side so I would say adjust the sweetness accordingly. Matcha Tornado: Such a good drink. The creme around the cup mixes well with the matcha flavor without taking any matcha flavor away. I always frequent the Irvine TP Tea, so I wanted to try this location to compare! I recommend downloading Snackpass to place your order ahead of time so it's ready when you get there. :) The strawberry matcha latte was absolutely delicious! This drink does not need toppings and is delicious as-is. I will say the strawberry syrup is pretty sweet already, so I would probably go with 50% sweet for my drink the next time. TP Tea definitely has premium drinks, but their set up/service needs a whole lot of improvement. Came in and they only took kiosk ordering. The user interface is really bad and difficult to use, which is why it creates a huge line. They have minimal seating inside. It is mainly people waiting for their drinks. They used to have a pick up area to the right when you walk in, but they just moved tables/chairs to block the space. It is difficult enough with the smaller space they have. Now to make the experience worse. After about 20-25 min, I check back in, and no update on my order. I check back in at the 30-35 min mark, and they say they are working on it. By 45 min, they had one drink ready, and were ready to complete my order...when I told them they were still missing the other it took them super long to figure out where it was. There was no sense of urgency to complete the order. So it took close to one hour to get two drinks... Again, as I waited inside, I could tell everyone else was annoyed that drinks were coming out so slow. As a safety concern, I did also see staff drop a cup on the ground and still use it. Their main issue for efficiency is that the space for the staff to work in is super small for the amount of workers they have. So they just bump into each other a lot. Again, the drinks are pretty good, but the rest of the experience in long waits and lack of efficiency makes me avoid the location. I got the fantastic fruit green tea with less ice and 80% sweetness. Why was it so sour? I had to wait the next day so the ice melted in order to finish the drink since I didn't want to waste it. My friend got the winter melon oolong at 80% and it was on pretty sweet with not much tea flavor. Service is through the kiosk and then you get a text and a number called to pick up your order. Whatever you do prefer to order at your typical boba shoo, know that TP Tea's forte is indeed their lovely tea flavor so if you're a wonky flavor soldier like my brother you are advised to stick to classics like the Tieguanyin. But if you do, oh is it so good. Order your stuff from them online to avoid waiting in the long long line. There seems to be one at all evening mealtime hours regardless of day of week so be prepared. Their pickup is pretty straightforward, but double check your order as you pick it up. Do not get offbeat stuff like their Thai Iced Tea tornado. It was terribly uneven in flavor and tasted mostly of ice. The "Moo! MyTaro" is similarly missing something as there no tea flavor at all and the diluted cream isn't quite enough without additional stuff on top. Definitely a bit disappointing... However, things like Matcha and Tieguanyin are pretty darn solid. TGY Family has all the fixings you'd want (boba plus two jellies) and is probably going to be my order going forward. Boba was small, but at a nice medium of chewiness and the flavors just wonderfully blended together with a potent tea leading along the harmonious melody. I can't speak for the quality of boba pearls here as I don't often eat that, but I could tell that the green tea was well made: not too bitter while also having a prominent tea flavor. Peach Fantasy with QQ Noodle - QQ noodles are chewy, udon-like noodles and the white version here is much chewier and more flavorful versus our black QQ noodles back home. It actually has flavor because there's some sugar marination and the texture is a standard chewiness (ours lacks flavor). As a chain boba store, this TP Tea location was as expected! Their interior had very minimal seating that filled up quickly while people waited on their orders. To order your drink in store, there is one large tablet to the side of the pickup counter. You can easily navigate to pick and edit your drink order. The process was quick to input the order and receive a text message confirmation. I didn't realize the tablet was available for ordering as people stood in the available spaces. Better or extra signage would've been appreciated. However, it took a long time to get our drinks. The store was juggling in person orders with online order platforms. I saw all their counters full with cups and their two sealing machines working non-stop. While the team balanced the stressful time well, it did still take quite some time. While I watched them make the orders, I noticed that one of my two drinks was sitting for a little while before my second drink was made to complete my order. I wish they could've been finished at the same time rather than having one just sitting there. I got their Tie Guan Yin tea latte and it tasted about the same as any other location I have been to, though. I always enjoy the milk teas here since the quality is really good. I like how they have a kiosk, but the lines can get long here. I ordered the strawberry matcha with whole milk and the Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea with boba and the QQ noodles. I got 50% sweetness for the strawberry matcha and regular sweetness for the Tie Guan Milk tea. Even with regular sweetness for the Tie Guan Yin Milk tea, it didn't taste too sweet. The noodles were chewy and soft. I really enjoyed the Tie Guan Yin Milk tea. I felt like the strawberry matcha was overpowered by the strawberry puree. I didn't really taste the matcha. This is THE boba shop to go to in Cupertino, and my personal favorite. There is plenty of parking around so it's easy to get your tea. I highly recommend ordering online via Snackpass to avoid waiting in the store. Price-wise, the tea costs about the same as the various places. I'll write about my 3 favorite drinks I get from the place. Tie Guan Yin Latte: This is the drink I usually get. I like it a lot due to its simple oolong flavor that I can't find anywhere else in Cupertino. It's a good balance of tea and milk. I recommend getting it with boba or grass jelly to enhance your experience. Black Tea Latte with Red Beans: I like this drink a lot due to its combination of tea and red beans. Not only do the red beans give the drink a more grainy texture, but it also add an extra kick of sweetness to it. This makes this drink quite addictive and flavorful. Strawberry Milk Tea: This is a solid drink for strawberry lovers. It tastes very fresh and gives a good mix of strawberry, ice, and tea. It's also not that sweet, which I really like about milk teas. One of my favorite places for MT. That, and how it's convenient that it's in the same plaza as one of my fav noodle restaurants. Service can be a hit or miss, depending on the day/time. Crazy long wait time on weekends but fast on a weekday, but that's as expected. Highly recommend doing it via Snackpass. My go to drinks from here are: tie guan yin MT and strawberry MT (both drinks are their specialities). One thing about the strawberry MT tho is that it's superrrrr sweet. I suggest doing 0% sweetness, or if you have to, 30%. It can get loud inside but if you catch them on a non busy day, the volume is minimal. Parking is never a problem and staff are always friendly. This is hands down the best boba in the bay. Came here with some friends back in September, liked it so much that we had to come back the next time we visited the bay too. The Tieguanyin oolong milk tea is so delicious. A very strong tea flavor that isn't overpowered by everything else. It also has a very fragrant milky taste too. You can also adjust the sugar and ice level to your liking. The boba was also soft, fresh, and has a nice chew to it. The line does get long so our friends ordered about 30 minutes ahead on this app called SnackPass. It's easy to sign up and order ahead so you can skip the line. To be honest, part of me wishes I never found out about Tp tea because I'm so addicted to it now. Ive gotten it every day this week. I love the tgy family milk tea with 15% sugar and little to no ice. This drink comes with coffee jelly, boba and pudding. I've tried many boba places and this place just does milk tea so so well. Drinks are close to a 5 for me but the service can be hit or miss at times. I first came to this spot back in April 2021 and went back once sometime in the 2021. Fast forward to 2022 where I found myself more often in the Cupertino area again. I often was looking forward to trying out the seasonal drinks here and of course getting my mainstay, Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea. This is the only place where I find myself willing to get milk tea as other places I usually opt for fruit tea or just tea by itself. There are two kiosks to order from, and the one that is at the counter where they make drinks seems to be the one where they announce the number. When I order from the other kiosk (the one that doesn't print the receipt--I think it is the Snackpass one?), there have been times where they do not announce the number and other times where they do. I have to watch pretty intently after 10ish minutes to see if they place my drink on that side of the counter. Wish there was more consistency with that. read more

Unfortunately, I was not a huge fan of the Tie Guan Yin latte. For some odd reason, it tasted watered down and the flavor of the tea barely comes out. I'd come back for boba here. Pro tip: order online!! I ordered in person at the tablet, and everyone else and their mom's orders came out first. They only have a couple tables inside, so people aren't really loitering here. They put all the other tables against the counter to avoid contact. This is the only place I've found that serves milk tea with a strong authentic tea flavor-- it doesn't taste like pure simple syrup and milk. My go to order is the C3 Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea -- it tastes great both hot and iced. Sometimes when I need something caffeine free, I will order the strawberry milk tea but depending on who makes your drink, it may sometimes come out too icey. However, when it's made right, that one is good as well. One of my old favorite drinks was the mulberry drink and I'm not sure why they removed it off the menu but that drink was SO good and I pray one day they bring it back. My cousins suggested TP tea as a really good boba place that you can't get in SoCal. The decal on the store said it was from Chun Shui Tang group which you may know as the originator of boba in Taiwan. I was excited to try it and the line outside showed that it was popular in the area. There's many ways of ordering - DoorDash, through their QR code/website, and in person. As of early July, they still practice COVID protocol - mask, social distancing, ~4 parties at a time inside with instructions wanting one person per party to order for everyone. I tried the black tea with QQ noodle and boba. The black tea is very rich, flavorful, and great quality. The QQ noodle was great as well. It's about 1-2 inches in length and is chewy. The boba was not bad but I thought it would be better - the outside was very very soft however the inside was a little too firm. For lactose intolerant people, the milk tea contains dairy. The only drink options without dairy are the teas itself or the latte with an oat milk substitute for a $1 uncharge. read more
