EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED,,,,ordered the seafood chowder ( which it is advertised as Lindsey's restaurant recipe,,,,,,the SMALL crock it was served in is at least 4 -5 ounces LESS,,,NOT a piece of lobster in it,,,,shredded fish and 5 tiny shrimp,,,,,this is called a fish chowder appetizer,,,,,,the price was $18 of humiliation and resentment ! Been twice now . Lunch few weeks back when they first opened and again dinner this week . Pros: Food is ok like most bars / tavern food. Good selection of beers (hadn't ordered anything except beers : so can't comment on drinks ) Layout is split : bar on one side and seating area on other Large waiting area - no reservations place, so come when you want. (Preference of mine) Very clean / service is prompt / friendly place / prices are very reasonable / open daily long hours too / jeans , casual feel to the place / various selections of food : burgers / salads / soups and including sushi and bowls Good selections! Cons: The NOISE is deafening due to high ceilings! The acoustics need toning down IMO : they need sound baffles on the ceilings . They can be very decorative and no one would know ;) The clam chowder was room temp. S/b hotter than that Cole slaw is meh . And y'all need to put malt on the table when serving fish and chips Overall it's a good place to stop in for a bite read more

We were seated immediately for lunch at 1 pm on a Friday, despite a crowded event in the adjoining meeting space. Our waiter was mostly attentive. My $36 Ipswich clam plate had a large pile of fried clams, French fries, and onion rings. I was desperate for ketchup and finally resorted to asking a neighboring table for theirs as the wait staff had vanished. I wish the clams had been coated in the traditional fish fry of corn flour instead of a thick batter that was not crispy. I did not finish them. My companions enjoyed their fish entrees but questioned the large glop of mashed potatoes that accompanied them. White fish and white potatoes:odd. The presence of a lottery ticket vending machine in the bar area sets a very "down market" tone. We were happy to find a restaurant open in January with most others closed for the winter. However, the place should improve its approach to cooking and presenting seafood. And always remember the ketchup (even if it isn't Heinz) when setting down a heap of fried food! read more

Only been disappointed once, aside from that everything I've gotten has been great. Burgers, steak and cheese egg rolls, boneless buffalo chicken, chefs rice, and bar pizza are in my opinion the big standouts and why I continue to go back and recommend it. I still remember when this was Lindsay's. Vastly different now, updated and completely renovated. Stopped in to meet friends here this weekend and the bar area is enormous with high tops, booths and smaller two seat stations. Even at 1:00pm this place was busy. The full dining area also looked significantly busy too. I patiently sat and watched as the waitresses brought food out to other patrons and by sight alone have to say their Fish Tacos, Burgers and Bar Pizzas all looked foolishly good! I've been to their North Attleboro location a few times and this spot on Route 28 was equally good. Even with ALL the food options available, I optioned for their boneless Tenders (sorry I'm a lite eater) but my peers had sushi bowls which were enormous. My only gripe was we ordered a Devil's Purse (Kolsch) and a Sam Adams (Lager) and were given 2 Sam's and when i pointed it out she said 'nope, those are different' even though the color and taste were exact. I had been many times when it was the former restaurant. There were some updated and it does have a fresh coat of paint but the room configurations and thing are still a bit hodge podge. There were 4 people at the front station. One asked how many. Then there was some silence. Then one suddenly just said follow me. Seemed too many people and no real greeting. Seemed like we interrupted their social time? We got the table right near the Kitchen door. So quite a bit of traffic, but still ok. The server was there quickly, introduced himself and asked if we had questions. The menu is a little more exciting than the run of the mill cookie cutter sysco servers that are out there. It's hard to tell with pricing now, cause they are all over the place and quality and quantity come into play. there were 3 of us. We got 2 specialty drinks and one draft beer. While the draft was great it seemed pricey. We opted not to get any appetizers. One in the party got a burger, was absolute average for the area. I got turkey tips that are not offeren everywhere and suprisingly were not swimming in sugar coating. They were seasoned and cooked well and the two sides were good. The last of out party got the fish and chips. It was a hit. Good quality and good serving size for this region and for the price. read more

Finally landed here last night after it's opening of about...three months ago? We had only been to Lindsey's once (as we weren't that impressed); but kudos to Towne Tavern for the re-boot - the place looks great overall. The hubby got the steak tips, which were a tad bit underdone for me; luckily he likes rare (in addition to the medium rare he ordered, so no harm no foul). He found them a bit chewy, though. I got the short ribs with the horseradish mashed potatoes. Out of both dinners, this is the one to get! The big hunk of boneless rib was tender, and mixed with the horseradish potatoes in one bite makes a pretty winning combo. The brussels sprouts were just that... brussels sprouts - the meat and potatoes are the star here. We had a lovely desert; a local ice cream maker (Bry's...not sure if the company is under another name), but I'm a big believer in supporting local business - it was a "blueberry patch" ice cream with a lot going on in it; caramel drizzle and a very tasty crust the ice cream rested on. Diabetics may want to proceed with caution here, however...it's big, so split it with someone. The cocktail menu certainly looks adventurous enough. I just had a dirty martini...it was ok. The bathroom area is awkward - the entrance to the men's room is in the middle of the restaurant where the staff goes back and forth between the dining room and across from a cash register...potential for an accident there at some point. Went for lunch today, restaurant was busy. Sat right down in the bar, service was great. Ordered the Shaved Rib Eye sandwich and a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. Salad was perfect, just the right amount of dressing and the chicken was moist and tender. My husband had the Rib Eye sandwich and said it was delicious, the fries were excellent as well. So glad we have another new restaurant in Wareham. Will be going back soon for dinner. read more

First visit since opening. Noisy, only had to wait a few minutes to be seated (15). Wait staff was ok. Chowder wasn't hot, not as good as the Lindsey's Clam chowder. Salad was good. I heard this place was open and the food was great! It wasn't. We walked in and were greeted by a group of young women at the front desk and asked how many in our party. We said "two" then a young man who never acknowledged us started to walk away from the desk and the girls then said "Oh! Follow him" so we did. Afterwards we were greeted by a very nice waitress who took very good care of us. She was prompt , polite and friendly. We ordered the burrata board, it was very good. Then we ordered dinner, I got the baked haddock plate and it arrived cold. I was so hungry I just ate it. My wife got the Tuna burger and it was also cold. We eat lots of tuna cold so she just figured she would tough it out. The problem with the tuna was that it was absolutely tasteless and looked almost unappetizing. We paid, left a twenty percent tip since the waitress was so good. I would say that this place needs to train their greeters to handle the patrons with more efficiency like the waitress did. Also serve the food hot and add some flavor along with a better presentation on the plate. It goes a long way. Finally we both ended up with upset stomach issues later in the evening. Not good. Food is great, especially the fish and chips, burgers, etc. and service is always good. The reservation and front of the house definitely needs work professionally in handling the customers. Kids that work the front need lots of polishing but don't let that stop you from going. The food is always consistent and very, very good. read more

Went in tonight with a girlfriend. We both work in the service industry so we understand that people are busy. It was busy but not as packed as it usually is, as I have been before. We sat at the bar tables for 20 minutes and received no service. I understand being busy but tables that had gotten there after us were getting their orders taken.
