The lighting and modern feel to the place was different from what I am use to, but Laird the owner put me a easy and worked with me to find a pair of glasses that would fit my face and my price range. He was never pushy, but gave honest feedback on how various sunglasses looked on my face. The range and quality of the glasses is wonderful. Although I only bought sunglasses I know I will be back for when I need new glasses. What sold me over all was that he backup is work. Any time I have a problem I can go back and he'll fix them. The place is not cheap, but the overall quality and attentiveness makes shopping there worth while.

I came the following day and was greeted by Melissa who was extremely pleasant and she took my glasses and lens out back and when she returned they had installed the new lenses and tightened up the frames. My opthomologist sent me to Parrelli to try contact lenses prior to having cataract surgery. I…read morevisited PArrelli 3 or 4 times and each time there was a long wait and when I did get to be with Jonathan he got involved with other customers while I was waiting for him. I guess he tries to please everybody without regard to his schedule. Finally, after the exams he was to send a report to the opthomologist with his findings. Despite several reminder calls over about 3months leaving message from me and the optholomolgist's office the report never appeared. The last contact was with Jonathan calling me once to remind him of the diagnosis. I wasn't available at that time and he agreed to calling me later that day which never happened. And there is still no report. Maybe Parrelli is a good business but a total failure for my needs.

I was consistently forcefully ignored, belittled and patronized about my capability to afford anything outside of what my insurance allowed. And the woman that handled my service or lack thereof refused any feedback on the type of glasses I was looking to purchase, she was outright indignant and belittling but yet when other caucasian patrons walk into your establishment they were greeted warmly and talked to respectfully. to make matters worse, the glasses that I picked out weren't even the ones I received in fact they weren't even in the same class. I expressed my budget and willingness of $575 to spend on glasses and yet they charged my insurance for those glasses and they didn't even have the decency to give me the ones that I picked out to purchase defeating the whole purpose of the $575 out of insurance budget, Hence I was more than fiscally able to purchase a pair of my choosing regardless of what insurance covered . I will never do business with this company again, but maybe that was their whole gold to discourage people with disabilities or under insured individuals from returning?? Jim will also entertain you with his many funny antidotes about one thing or another, or he may surprise you and belt out in song. I cant praise these guys enough. They will be totally honest with you in regards to trying on frames. I have relied on her expertise to see me through (no pun intended) a rather serious eye problem that I had previously only trusted an eye surgeon to care for. She has proven herself to be a more thorough and caring provider than the specialist! The staff at AVC is super nice and one of the women who works in the reception area (forgot her name) is especially knowledgable about insurance -- a rare find these days! The waiting area is small and comfy, with complimentary coffee, TV, and magazines. There is never a very long wait. I do not feel overly pressured with sales pitches to purchase glasses or lenses here, which is refreshing. That said, I did purchase glasses for my child, who is very picky and actually found a pair to their liking. On top of all that, this facility has state-of-the art machinery for testing your eyes. (How cool to see a picture of the inside of your own eyeball!)

I spent over $700 out-of-pocket on a pair of glasses, and my insurance paid for the rest. Within a month a lens scratched and Advanced repalced it. Less than a year after my purchase what looked like a grain of sand became embedded in a lens. Also I noticed the red paint was starting to chip from the metal frame. I came in and immediately the person at the counter said something like sorry, we no longer carry that brand. Not understanding why that should be my problem, I asked to speak to the manager. He was pretty rude & said there was nothing that could be done about the paint and then acted like he would do me a big favor - rather than standing by his product - by replacing the lens, while trying to make me feel like this was my fault. He expalained that he had the same brand glasses and multiple children who were regularly grabbing them off his face, yet he never had a problem with these glasses. That's a great story, but I'll never return here!

After my last exam somewhere else a couple years ago, figuring they had to smack the camera to get it to work for my optic nerve picture and handing me my new glasses with a dumb look and no fitting I decided to change optometrists. Visionworks was great in all regards and the exam matched my opthalmologists who are treating my Glaucoma at the BI. Thank you

It makes me sad to leave this review because in I think everyone who works here is very kind and…read morewell meaning, but this was such an unusual and upsetting experience that I hope can be prevented and avoided in future. I flunked my first contact application appointment and I booked a second appointment for contacts at 3:30 hesitantly, explaining I wouldn't be able to arrive until 3:40. I was assured this would be fine. I arrived at 3:40 and went into the doctors' office around 4:10/4:20. I had practiced beforehand and was able to put the contacts in (hooray!). I had an unexpectedly really hard time getting the contacts out though. After trying for a while and asking for help, my doctor Amanda Gannon told me she "didn't know what to tell me" and that if I couldn't get them out by myself or with assistance that I would have to go to the ER and have them surgically removed and that MyEyeDoctor was closing in 10 minutes. She kept telling me that I had to get the contacts out and that they were closing until I started crying. She kindly told me she would wait until I could get them off and after the pressure was taken off, I was able to take out the contacts. She told me I had "gotten myself worked up" and that I would most likely be able to put contacts in at home. I was surprised to see that I left exactly at 5, which is when MyEyeDoctor closes. I can't imagine how hard these eye doctors are working and how much they want to get home, but this is one of those experiences in healthcare that will stick with me. I appreciate the doctor giving me some extra time, but I really feel like this whole thing could have been avoided with different scheduling or with my doctor easing up when she realized I was struggling with the contacts. I did wind up getting them out in time for closing, but I was really scared and upset. Lovely front of desk people, nurses, and doctors, and I've had very positive experiences with my glasses, so perhaps this was just a bad day.
