Get your glasses anywhere else but LensCrafters ay the Northshore Mall in Peabody, MA. I went to LensCrafters on the advice of my Vision insurance provider. I ordered two pair of glasses on December 9, 2022. it's now January 14th, 2023 and I not only don't have my glasses yet, but they still can't tell me when I can expect them. I have spoken with local managers and a regional manager. They were very pleasant but ZERO help. I'm 67 years old. I need these glasses as my prescription has recently changed and my eyesight is poor. Never never again will I go to LensCrafters and I have instructed my Vision Insurance provider not to recommend them to anyone else. read more

Don't like to give just 1 star but its even hard to give this place 1! I came in to buy 3 pairs of glasses... instead of getting service I was told look there, in the past I had bought from Lenscrafters in Saugus and always got excellent service... Finally someone decided to help us after half hour and I spend more than $1500 and was promised my glasses in 10 days... Last week was over 20 days and I called and after 3 calls I finally got to talk to someone who told me they would be there in 2 days, they had been shipped.... Its now about a month and no call... Needless to say there is no lack of service in this place.. there just isn't any! read more

Most of the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Dr. Lyudmila was kind, patient, and explained each step of my eye exam and results carefully to ensure that I understood everything. The assistant who administered the first few steps was also very kind and helpful (I forgot her name but she had curly medium length brown hair and wore scrubs). The ladies at the front desk however were rude and unprofessional, all four were on their phones and when Dr. Lyudmila walked me out and asked them to order a specific trial contact lens for me the receptionist with long grayish blonde hair seemed annoyed and was rude to the doctor repeatedly asking "Why am I ordering these?", "What are these for", "why can't you use one of the lenses we already have?". The doctor was patient and explained several times to the receptionist that they I needed a special cylinder size that they didn't carry. It was awkward to witness as a patient and customer and really would have soured my whole experience if everyone else wasn't so pleasant, I really felt like I was inconveniencing her. Please train your receptionists on etiquette and professionalism, everyone else was lovely though. As for the actual store, the staff was very helpful in looking up my insurance benefits for purchasing frames and was a great help for picking out frames that flattered my face. The selection is kind of small but they usually have good deals on lenses and frames (my Dolce & Gabbana and Tiffany frames were 50% off!). read more

Let me tell you why I did not buy my $400+ glasses here. I tried, I really did. I visited the store on Saturday. The store was super busy. The manager was walking around asking if she could help people. She helped me find some glasses I liked. I came back On Sunday with my wife to help me decide. The manager was not there and the store was very quiet. The two sales people didn't even acknowledge us when we came in. We browsed around trying on glasses for about 15 minutes, still nothing. One of the sales people sat down and started playing on her cell phone. Finally, holding a pair of glasses, I walked up to the cashier. The sitting one looked up from her phone and said "you got a question?" I was so turned off by the whole experience I put the glasses down, walked out, and drove to the Store at the square one mall where I was treated like a valued customer. It amazes me that sales people can't be bothered to help someone who is obviously looking for glasses in the pricier section of the store. The two girls who were working on 2/23/14 at about 3 pm should learn customer service. They should know that they are the reason I left and will not be back. If you are shopping at this store, make sure the manager is in: everyone was so helpful then. However, when the cat's away the mice will chat on their cell phone or text. read more

They weren't. I was told that it might be multiple days before I could get them if they had to be sent out of store) -Customer service follow-up: 4 stars (I got a phone call as soon as they opened the next day to tell me my glasses were, in fact, ready. Kudos to Steve for his help that day!) Overall, this place is not bad. I got great glasses. I do wish prices were better and that they had a better system in effect for when the machinery goes down. I came to LensCrafters to get a new prescription for my glasses. I've used them in the past. They were nice enough to fit me into their busy schedule today. Got my exam done. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. They will fit you and have your glasses ready in an hour. That's the positive about this business. But here's the rub. Their prices for lenses and frames however, are very expensive even after insurance is applied. I'm shopping around before making a purchase there again. I was able to make a same day appointment at this Lenscrafters using their online system and received great service from that point forward. When I got in, I filled out some paperwork and waited about 5 minutes to see the doctor. While I was waiting I had a chance to start trying out some frames and setting them aside. The doctor herself was very friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. The sales person (Amy) was incredibly helpful in figuring out what looked best on me and my options with what my insurance would cover. She actually made shopping for my glasses/sunglasses a lot of fun. I ended up spending a little more than what I expected but I got a pair of regular glasses with great frames and polarized sunglasses. Both pairs of my glasses were ready to go in an hour, which worked out well since I had had my eye dilated and needed some time before I could drive. I would definately return to this location because of the friendly and quick service I received and the ease of making an appointment online. read more

They accuse you of stealing sunglasses that they are "missing" off the wall that were never there in the first place. 4 police officers and two security guards were called. What a joke of a company. This is for the one inside Macy's. I first walked into the one in the mall, because I wanted to try the clarifye test but they were booked the rest of the day so they suggested the Macy's location. The man at the counter was so nice listening to me jabber on about my fears that I'm not doing the regular test right. He assured me that Dr. Neckers knows her s#*t and has been doing this for 30 years and she don't need no stinking clariwhat. Let me tell you he was absolutely correct! Dr. Neckers was very kind and patient with me as I probably gave her carpal tunnel with how many times I made her switch back and forth. She showed me a retinal scan of my eyes and showed me that I had a freckle on one. She also added a reading script for progressive lenses so I wouldn't have to take my glasses off to read or look at my phone. I ordered my glasses online and I really love them! The change to progressive has been amazing though it does take some getting used to when looking down walking, it can make you dizzy and bump into things. Dr. Neckers is the bomb dot com! read more

first, this "store" is in Macy's, which has two stores at the North Shore Mall. I went to the wrong store and a sales clerk directed me to the other store. There are no signs anywhere in either store for Lenscrafters., A sales clerk sent me up the escalator. then I had to ask another clerk where the "store" was. I finally found it, nestled in between other departments. It is not a store, It is a small department\ within Macy's I needed a new set of lens for reading - not the frames- just the lens. Their price WITH a 20% discount, was $378. I then went to Costco, and the price was $120. Why would anyone go to Lenscrafters when for a price of a Costco membership you could save big money on glasses as well as many other items. read more

My husband has needed new lenses three times in the past three years. The first two times we went to Lens Crafters in Peabody. Both time we were told that he needed new frames. This year we went to Walmart and they were able to put new lenses into BOTH frames that we had purchased at Lens Crafters. Last year it cost use $641.00 at Lens Crafters for everything. Used to go to this place, recently went there and had a terrible experience with them. I ordered a pair of glasses and the first time, they gave me the wrong color. The second time, they gave me a pair that was defective so they made another order of glasses and they wanted me to wait for a total of over 4 weeks for just a simple pair of glasses they couldn't simply nail down correctly. I asked for a refund, they gave me that but then proceeded to call back asking me for the old broken pair they gave me and forced me to drive all the way back for their mistake. In total from what they put me through, I had to make 5 trips back and forth to get absolutely nothing from them but a headache and a waste of gas. I do not recommend wasting your time going to this store at all since they put their customers through so much of their own mistakes and they do not care at all. Prior to visiting LensCrafters inside Macy's at the Burlington Mall, I visited four other stores for frames and lenses. LensCrafters inside Macy's has many designer frames to choose from. The service that Richard provided me was exceptional. He listened to what style frame I was looking for and what would look nice based on the shape of my face. He helped me narrow down my selection by what was trendy, price, style, designer name, color, thickness, etc. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He didn't pressure me into a sale or try to sell me any "add-ons." I'm very happy with my eyeglasses. read more

If I could give no stars I would!!!! I am used to an eye doctor/practice that cares about the individual. This facility -in my opinion-cares about $$$. I am a patient and needed 2 days of contacts to carry me over due to an emergency as my other contacts were in another location. They would only sell me 90 days supply even though samples were in inventory. The manager said "samples are to entice clients to purchase." I would never go back, and I hope they realize that treating clients this way is actually detrimental to their business. read more

Recently got new glasses here at the Peabody MA (N.S. Mall Location), and while the frames are rather pricey, they are very nice, and an enormous selection. I needed regular glasses and prescription sunglasses as well. I worked with Bryan, who is just wonderful, he has a ton of patience, and is unbelievably professional, and helpful, make sure you see him when you go, he's awesome. I had to go back a couple of times because I had trouble getting used to both pairs, and he really helped me out. Sometimes it's busy and sometimes there is a nice lull. But, they had both pairs ready for me in just a bit more than an hour. Not bad! read more

Customer service in retails matters, but this store doesn't seem to care. I need glasses quickly so I called to ask their turnaround time for new glasses and frames. Well I call and a representative picks up and immediately hangs up on me. Thinking it was an accident I call back and girl by the name of Amy picks up the phone. I asked my question and was barely allowed to finish when she said "hold on" and transferred me. After it rang and rang someone eventually picked up after a long while then also immediately hung up on me. I prefer to at least be treated with a modicum of respect. I came here one day to purchase contacts because this is where I got my prescription. I gave the man who was helping me my prescription and he said they didn't have my contacts in stock and I'd have to wait 5 days. He didn't bother to LOOK and see if they had any, though. He just told me they didn't. I asked him if he could check and he left and came right back out and said they didn't have them. I suspected that he didn't actually check, so later that day I called the same store and asked if they had my contacts in stock. Guess what? The lady on the phone said that they had 2 boxes. So I drove the twenty minutes back to the store to get them and the same man was there. He was apologetic and I was nothing but nice to him, but it was awkward. "Hi. I know I was just here, but I called and a lady said that you actually do have the contacts I need," I said. "Oh, really?" he said. Then he addressed another clerk. "We have Aquacomfort Dailies?" he asked. "Yes," she said. Then she looked at me. "You want Aquacomfort Dailies?" "Yes." "You don't want Acuvues?" "No." "We HAVE Aquacomforts. We don't have Acuvues," she said haughtily. "Okay. I just want Aquacomforts." I showed her my prescription which clearly said Aquacomfort Dailies. She just sort of grunted and seemed peeved with me, as if I was the one screwing everything up. Now, I didn't want to go through all that crap again, so a few days ago I ordered my contacts online. My order has been heavily delayed because my doctor's office told the company who was confirming my prescription that my prescription was for Acuvues. It CLEARLY says that it's for Aquacomforts. I've worn Aquacomforts for 7 years. Is Acuvue paying you to put me through hell?! Get it together, guys! Incompetent. Rude. A huge hassle. Plus, I now have to pay an extra $20 for expedited shipping because my contacts won't get here on time because of the delay these dingalings at Lenscrafters caused. Skip 'em and find eye care professionals who know what they're doing. And if they try to upsell you on the expensive retinal photography screening -- DON'T DO IT! I paid for it and the optometrist forgot to look at it, and when I reminded her, she looked at it for a total of 3 seconds and said it looked fine. What a mess. read more

I went here because I needed contacts. I waited an over an hour for my scheduled appointment. the eye doctor was unprofessional smacking her gum while she examined my eyes. She gave me contacts I couldn't even see through. when I explained that to her she said my eyes just needed time to adjust and sent me away to drive home unable to see. when I contacted LensCrafters they said it was a franchised store and there was nothing they could do. BEWARE! I had them check if my insurance was okay (in-person) for a new appointment because my prescription had run out after 1 year. They did and said all I needed to pay was a $20 copay. However, the next day they said my insurance didn't cover it and said it would be $120 for a new prescription for contact lenses. AND THEY DO NOT HONOR WHAT THEY SAID TO ME BEFORE. They will not waive the the fee and charge me $20 like they said when they checked it. DO NOT TRUST Dr. Andrew Zodikoff or Dr. Maria Miller. Horrible thing to do to your customer. I've been coming to LensCrafters for years but it looks like they're currently under new management lately? While walking back to the doctors office I had one woman approach me to ask me if I needed any help I said no thank you and kept walking. Another woman again almost sprinted over to me and asked me if I was here for my digital exam and I said I was here just for my annual exam and she proceeded to walk me back as if I wasn't capable of finding them myself. I just had an amazing experience at the Peabody LensCrafters. This is first time coming to this location. I have been looking for a new eye doctor and saw this was a close location to my home. I made an appointment and came in 15 minutes early in case I needed to fill out extra paperwork. The girl at the front desk, I believe her name was Amy, (she had blonde hair) was extremely nice and said she wasn't sure if I had a co pay or not but she immediately called and found I did not for my exam which was a bonus. My doctor Maria Miller was extremely helpful in asking a lot of questions and assured me that my previous prescription was very off which I had thought and she validated. She gave me several options in my next steps toward acquiring new glasses. After filling out my prescription the blonde receptionist escorted me into the store and introduced me to Cheri and Katy who were delightful. My old frames were very warped. Instead of pointing me in the direction of new frames I asked if we could try to save these (seeing that I had never worn them because the prescription was so off). Cheri immediately got to work bending them back into place. She efficiently put in all my insurance information and said my glasses would be ready within an hour and 30 minutes! I am very pleased with the success of this trip and would highly recommend both the optometrist office and LensCrafters at the Peabody location. read more

I previously bought glasses here two years ago. Great service then, glasses in about a week (I'm very nearsighted, so I had special lenses). My most recent experiance has been not so great. My first visit to choose frames and lenses was fine. Not a great frame collection, but ok. Then they misorded my lenses, and I had to wait two more weeks........glasses still not in! And, no one seems to be able to answer any of my questions. Trying to reach a live person at their Peabody location is like pulling teeth. I would highly reccomend you either find a more locally owned, customer service centered location....or find the magical hour when they actually answer customer inquiries. Serious fail on my part....I wish I had gone somewhere more local. Would like to have my $500 investment go somewhere else. read more

I made an eye doctor appointment at this location and was treated very well from the moment I walked in. After getting my prescription, I decided on a pair of Oakley prescription glasses -- I'd worn their sunglasses before, and figured the construction would be solid. A few weeks later, I decided they were too heavy/bulky on my face. This was the first time I've taken advantage of a "guarantee" (they have a 90 day guarantee) and was slightly embarrassed, but they did not make me feel uncomfortable at all. The manager gave me some advice and helped me pick a new pair that fit my face and felt good to wear. It was an easy exchange, and they honored the promotion that was going on when I purchased the first pair. Now I love my new glasses! They usually have a good sale going on; be sure to ask about the AAA discount if you have it!
