Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, the was a policeman perhaps moonlighting a second job. I've seen him about town and he was insistent that I had ordered a pair of glasses only Harry Truman would wear. The moonlighting fellow placed a pair glasses with a line bifocal. I didn't order those ; his tone was harsh and I was uncomfortable. Policemen who need part time income should try to fix cars or lawnmowers Many have terrific manual skills . The are great at helping folks who are stuck. My next visit was just a awkward. The lady waiting on me said she had 43 pairs of glasses . She proceeded to show me all her inventory on layaway . In the city of witches she would scare all the boys and ghouls. However, she did own a beautiful car. I just saw one exactly like it. With the problems I have, I cannot wait for a meter. Parking is tight and restricted. I will always remember the first rate eyewear I would religiously purchase at Banville . The owner is kind and nice. I need them desperately to see. Ordering glasses at most places would take days to come in. Teaches me a lesson not to have a back up pair around. So on a whim I found The Eye Place. First off, on Shelles The Eye Place website, I really liked what she had to say about herself, her background, and how she runs her business. As a person that has spent many years in sales, I believe in transparency and not being pushy with the customer. Shellee has those same values. Transparently speaking I just went in there to see if she had any ideas on how I could maybe fix them. She's quite lovely in person. She knows what she's talking about and treats you like your family. I felt like I had known her for years, the way that we talked. When I finally pulled out my glasses to show her what had happened, she didn't even miss a beat. She found a similar frame and popped out the lenses on my broken pair of glasses and put them in the new frames. The new frames are at a great price point. She made little adjustments on the glasses to ensure they fit my face properly. The transaction was smooth and seamless. I love my new glasses. Shellee has a wonderful selection of glasses to fit any face and designs to fit anyone's unique style. You can tell by the way Shellee interacts with you that she loves what she does and she ensures that her customers leave with a smile on their face and the perfect eyeglass frames. I was consistently forcefully ignored, belittled and patronized about my capability to afford anything outside of what my insurance allowed. And the woman that handled my service or lack thereof refused any feedback on the type of glasses I was looking to purchase, she was outright indignant and belittling but yet when other caucasian patrons walk into your establishment they were greeted warmly and talked to respectfully. to make matters worse, the glasses that I picked out weren't even the ones I received in fact they weren't even in the same class. I expressed my budget and willingness of $575 to spend on glasses and yet they charged my insurance for those glasses and they didn't even have the decency to give me the ones that I picked out to purchase defeating the whole purpose of the $575 out of insurance budget, Hence I was more than fiscally able to purchase a pair of my choosing regardless of what insurance covered . I will never do business with this company again, but maybe that was their whole gold to discourage people with disabilities or under insured individuals from returning?? I could be completely wrong, well I'm just speculating but in any case I will not go back because i'm no longer a glutton for punishment.

They have a fashion forward selection of frames, and the optical assistants will definitely help you to select a frame and offer advice on what looks best. (They wear a variety of fashionable frames themselves, which I think is a good sign!) They are also good at explaining certain technical details about what frames work and don't work for certain types of prescriptions. Also, I had a small problem with a lens in the glasses, and they were very helpful with troubleshooting it and correcting it. Note: Ocean Optical doesn't take VSP insurance, but I think they will help you to meet your price-point.

When I tell her I'm there to pick up contacts she'll tell me she can't help me, step away and stand in the kiosk not assisting other customers, while Kyle runs around frantically taking care of ALL of the customers. Please promote Kyle or at least give him a raise! That said... I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Deanne tonight. I wanted to order a 6 month supply of my contacts. My prescription - which hasn't changed over the past couple of years - is due to expire this month. As all contact lens wearers know, your prescription is good for one year, however my insurance (BCBS) just this year changed their benefit to only allow eye exams once every year and a half. I am a teacher and sadly cannot afford to cover the costs of an eye exam and contact fitting fee out of my own pocket. Since my eyes have been stable, my optometrist's office advised me to order contacts in advance to carry me through the additional 6 months. At first Deanne refused to place my order. Once I explained my situation to Deanne she begrudgingly asked for my card number. I typically order a 3 month supply so i asked her to confirm it woukd be a 6 month. She very condescendingly told me how many contacts would be in each box and said "so yes it will be 6 months." Then, as I began to give her my card number, she rudely interrupted me telling me it wasn't a Visa (it is). Exhausted, I asked if I could just come in with cash. I asked for her name and she proudly told me it was Deanne, and that she was the manager. I'll now be trying to find another discount provider for my contacts. Perhaps BJs has better customer service.

They insulted, literally "insulted" me and my family for coming back and refused to serve unless I took down the review. I was not aware that putting an honest review bars you from going to that place again. I would have removed it anyway or put in a good review but this experience was way too poor. I honestly felt racially profiled, a clear look of xenophobia at the front desk. I stay put and give this place a 0 star and I refuse to take down an honest review.
