What an amazing store with different oddities and amazing smelling soaps. I enjoyed the variety of items, and picked up a beautiful lotus ring and soap. I love stores like this, but sometimes feel the items don't speak to me. This was not the case at hive & forge! Great prices and lovely staff. We were the first customers to arrive as soon as they opened one day and the clerk was so kind. A lot of amazing items to choose from- bones, gems and they even had a section with old antique books. Their section of ingredients was extensive and they sell from a local apothecary (so I was told) and they seem fresh. I will definitely be returning here for ingredients in the future. read more

Yesssssssss! Very eclectic. My husband really enjoy the taxidermy . I found it strange that I once owned a double yellow head Amazon and they had one there as a taxidermy . I did not get mine taxidermy when he passed away but it was heartfelt to see that there . Again Lots of taxidermy but it's okay. I loved the jewelry and very odd items. I purchased a glow in the dark ring for $115. Facility was clean, well lit and decor was well display. read more

Walking in I was overwhelmed by the scents from the items near the door. I did my best to move past this area quickly, as I am sensitive to smells. The shop carries many books and items that I enjoyed looking through. The staff were kind and welcoming. read more

Loooooove this store! Very eclectic mix of work from local artists, all sold in one spot. I'm not knocking the Salem sweatshirts and touristy souvenirs; I definitely have a solid collection myself and I love them all, but if you're looking for an unusual piece to remember your trip by, this is a great place to treasure hunt. There's genuinely something for everyone in this shop, for all price ranges. The employees do a great job of making gorgeous displays. Things are easy to see; you don't have to dig, but I do recommend making several trips around the store because I saw something new each time. After looking at a bunch of shops on market street I was pleasantly surprised by this store. It has way more unique items than the other shops nearby. The soap smell with blow you away when you first walk in but you get used to it haha. They had cool taxidermy, really beautiful jewelry, some art by local artists, antique books, bulk herbs, very unique soap scents, and lots of other odds and ends. read more

This is a neat pace to peruse. The pricing is a bit steep but they do sell eclectic things. Certainly most of what they sold, I haven't seen anywhere else, so they have a bit of a monopoly. I'm not really into the witchcraft stuff but the scented candles and soaps they have are divine. They have some old books that would make something nice and decorative. This is the best, most authentic, and cool "witch" store in Salem! They have a huge variety of cool artisanal gifts. The kind woman behind the counter told me the store was a collective of about 20 local artists which I found really cool. You could tell tok because all the items felt homemade but of very high quality. The stuff in the store is really awesome. They have all sorts of herbs, oils, art, jewelry, and amazing taxidermy! I particularly liked a lot of the jewelry and taxidermy. There are so many great gifts for eccentric people here. I also found the prices extremely reasonable, you could get some amazing accessories for like 20$ or a nice necklace for around 100$. read more

I would never have ventured into a shop like this on my own, but my pals and I had met a self-proclaimed wizard the evening before who claimed to be a psychic. When we made an appointment to have a psychic reading with him, he gave us the address to this shop and asked us to meet him there. There were some very eccentric items that are not for the faint of heart: kitten specimens in jars, dried up frogs, random animal bones, and several pieces of taxidermy. I understand why a self proclaimed witch and/or wizard would enjoy frequenting this place. They also had a lot of incredible smelling candles and soaps, and it appeared that you could make your own soaps and herbal mixes. They had a usable counter space where you could cut and mix various herbs and plants they had. In addition to the more bizarre items, the store also had some neat cards, fun gifts, pretty jewelry, and awesome art. Spoiler alert, but the wizard never showed up. We waited for about half an hour, and he just never came. I will say though, if you're going to get stood up by a wizard, this is a great place for that to happen, as there are an incredible amount of items to peruse, and you can buy beer a couple doors down. read more

This is the coolest store in salem. Definitely something in here for everyone. From upcycled fashion to taxidermy to crystals.... there's a lot to look at. I could spend hours in here. the best part is that everything in the shop is locally sourced and supports artists! Sam Pao has great upcycled one of a kind fashion items on display here and they have really nice, high quality crystals and rocks on display now. There's a plethora of handmade jewelry and art... and soooo much amazing soap!!! It's so hard not to blow all my money here before work. I love it here!!! read more

Went a few months ago and forgot to leave a review! Easily the most magical place in Salem! Such a warm and inviting environment to step into. The people working were very knowledgeable and helpful, not to mention overall nice and good people! We had the pleasure of meeting the store dog ( I assume one of the associates pup) which made it all the better! Fine jewelry and art for reasonable prices, most homemade by small artists and not to mention the beautiful array of herbs and such. Cannot recommend enough!
