I must admit that I always check out the gift shops wherever i go, especially touristy and historic places and Salem fits in both categories. There's some unique stuff in here that you just don't see everywhere like books on witchcraft, witch balls (I'll explain LOL), prayer candles, pentagrams, wiccan jewelry, etc. Okay Witch Balls have been very popular since the 18th century. Hanging those decorative glass balls in a window or on the porch is thought to tantalize mischievous spirits which may be threatening a home's tranquility. Now you know LOL It's a clean and nicely stocked store with lots of cool stuff and some touristy expected inventory with a friendly and helpful staff. That being said, the space is TIGHT, so I would recommend limiting the number of people allowed inside at one time. It was so packed it made it a little difficult to actually take our time and look around. We were at the corner register and constantly getting bumped into while people were trying to shop. The variety is definitely a plus, but the prices were much higher than I expected. Some of the items felt pretty overpriced, $12 for one shot glass is insanity. Overall, it's worth checking out for the selection and unique finds, but be prepared for crowds and higher than expected prices.

They have a nice selection of T-shirts, sorted by size, which made things super easy to find my size. They also have witch hats, which everyone seems to want and have while in Salem, and again, they are affordably priced, whereas others charge $30 or more. This is a really nice shop and definitely a place where you'll find lots of options.

We were told we couldn't briefly use speakerphone while talking, then were told we couldn't even take a picture of a cheap witch hat in the store. The attitude over something so insignificant was ridiculous. Communication was also extremely difficult, and instead of clearly explaining the store's policies in English, she became increasingly rude and confrontational. The final straw was being told that if we weren't going to buy something, maybe we should leave. That is an absolutely insane way to treat people visiting Salem who are simply looking around and deciding whether they want to purchase something. There are countless shops in Salem with friendly employees, better merchandise, and people who actually appreciate tourists and customers. Spend your money literally anywhere else. This was easily one of the worst customer-service experiences we had during our entire trip. Would never return and absolutely would not recommend.
