Come all, and all are welcome! Standing outside the store front, my children have gathered somewhere for a moment and left me alone. What's not to love about anything in Salem? Every place that an individual turns is far better than the next place. This particular location and business seems similar to other shops that we have been in and around, but the energy is tranquil and calming . The counter individual is respectful and welcoming. She does not seem pushy and lets a customer browse through the shop. The store offers many local flavors and other items that an individual would enjoy as one of a kind too. Looking for a crystal, candle or some sage. Let's see what you might need. Your favorite new trinkets are here and at a reasonable value and rate. I went here last October and finally remembered to write a review because my experience in this store is such a bad memory. I came into the store with 2 friends and we were tourists visiting Salem for the day. The owner stared us down as we entered the store, intruded on our space, and proceeded to follow one of my friends (despite the fact that we had gift bags from other stores and clearly had intentions to purchase). She kept hovering around us and kept asking if we were going to buy every single necklace that we saw. She wasn't hovering to offer help, be friendly, or strike up a conversation. It was clearly to monitor us. Not sure if the owner's behavior is because she didn't believe we were going to buy anything or because she is a rude person. If you are a tourist please find other places to purchase from because customers/visitors don't deserve to be treated and disrespected like this. read more

Good selection, lovely owner Closing this week for good. MANY BARGAINS. Love Arcadia and her art. I will miss you all. read more

I just left the shop after having my tarot reading read. I wish i remembered the man's name who did my reading or find the shop's socials. Everything in the shop was priced well. The store owner was very kind and helpful even when I was looking for my brothers, she offered to walk with me to find them. My tarot reading was very helpful and accurate to my life, and gave me genuine guidance on where to go in life. If I wasn't from Indiana I would come back here regularly. Definitely stop here on your next trip to Salem! read more

The owner was absolutely one of the nicest people I have met. She told my friend and I stories and helped my friend pick out her first Pentacle necklace. Very homey feel. read more

Just avoid it. As a Salem local, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between genuine shops and tourist traps. Not only does this person run a plastic scented phony witchcraft store, but she yells at and smart mouths the paying customers. She's easily one of the most unpleasant people in the town. Everything in her store can be bought next door or online. Just go there. She chased my husband and I out for writing down the name of a book I intended on coming back for. Gross. read more

New England Magic - Gift Shops Near Me - Salem, Massachusetts

We entered this shop not to buy anything but to see around and talk to the owner. The owner has been running this shop for the past 18 years and looking at the shop it feels that she has done a great job. Got to know a lot of amazing stories and her life and what motivated her to run a shop like this. Great Job, do visit her store. read more

Awesome store. Lovely proprietor. My friends and I enjoyed her store immensely. Spend some time here... worth it.

This place is off the charts! When we went here there were so many good things to look at and buy, I nearly fainted. The people who helped me find a souvenir like Carl ( I think that was is name, sorry if it is not) were very friendly and gave the place a happy feel. This place is one of the best places in all of Salem. --a kid who loves magic stuff read more

Wandered in, as one does. ^_^ Was immediately impressed by the choices of inventory - there was a wide range, more depth of knowledge, less pretension than we expected. And the store was clean, bright and full of both local and unique items, as well as more commonly available things. We were glad to see a favorite brand of incense, and after some great conversation with Carl, I found myself buying a Lllewellyn book for the first time in decades. They've got chops and don't need to shove it in your face. The store and the folks are welcoming, friendly and fun. We dropped a lot more money than expected and had a great time doing it. We'll definitely be back when we visit Salem next. read more

If you only visit one shop in Salem, make it this one. We just left after basically buying the whole shop. The owner and her little girl were SOOO nice. My kids played with her little one while we shopped. Everything in the store is beautiful and she was very helpful with the endless questions my 13 year old had and the endless stories she tells. Plus I kept agreeing to let my family buy whatever they wanted because it's really reasonably priced. We're from Vegas and won't enter ANY shops there because of the energy. But this store, we didn't want to leave. Can't thank her enough for such a great experience. read more

New England Magic is a fantastic little shop with incredibly friendly staff and a great inventory. Their selection of books is very impressive, as is their selection of candles, crystals, pendants, oils, incense, etc. Each time my boyfriend and I stopped in during our trip to Salem, the owners were more than happy to converse with us. I'm looking forward to visiting again next year! read more

Was up in Salem in October and was looking for a set of Runes and other items. I found the owners and the people working here to be very friendly and extremely helpful. Compared to a lot of the other shops who seemed bothered by their customers the Folks at New England Magic were terrific . Whenever I am up in Salem I will pay them a visit. read more

This was a very interesting shop. They had a lot of stuff. From books to wands to statues, I was impressed with the layout and design of this shop. It was very different from the normal shop, very family oriented shop. Watch out for the store's guardian wandering around the store. He's a cool dog. read more

Wandered through this shop on a brief break from the family touring while my little guy was napping in the Hotel. I'd made it through many of the shops and attractions and was a little sad about the commercial emphasis on money and love spells that I found, and then I popped into New England Magic on my way back from Gallows Hill. The energy in the store was amazing, and the owner was working with a family of little girls explaining how a crystal ball could be helpful. His explanation made me smile as I looked at the book selection. It was easy to relate to at any age, open, warm, and matter of fact. I enjoyed the selection in the store and felt that it was the best I had encountered anywhere, especially in Salem. I bought a book, and then came back the next day with the family in tow. My husband was also impressed by the store content and the owner. I ended up with a beautiful pair of tree of life/pentacle earrings made by a retired jeweler. I could have spent a lot more time (and money) in that store but we had to high tail it to the airport to catch our flight home. I absolutely will return to visit Salem and New England Magic. They have some cute handmade art, a very nice selection of besoms, wonderful book selection, and several amazing book of shadows on display that I could have spent hours going through. This is what I was hoping to find in Salem! read more

I was originally from Salem I was visiting this week with my mom for my grandmas funeral I haven't been back to Salem in 17 years. All the witch stores in Southern California where I live are gone or just not worth going in. I was super please to find this store today the owner Joanne was very nice and my mom felt comfortable here unlike some of the other stores we went in to today. By far the best store on Essex street!!! I even got a birthday discount and Joanne was the friendliest lady at I've met today! The store was larger than most with a great selection! I will be back on my next trip to Salem! read more

After visiting this shop in late June, I had to go back ASAP. The staff is amazing, very knowledgeable, and now my go to place for just about everything! My boyfriend took me back just to get me a pendant that I had seen while there the first time. Once again, a very wonderful experience today, and I left the shop with a beautiful pendant. Have to say that the reading I had with Linda was also very good...very clear solid insight. Highly recommend making this a stop on your trip to Salem! read more

Stopped in this Shop for some candles & incense and was surprised at the variety of items. From books to crystals to hand made art. Loved the baubles! The atmosphere was alive and magical, not dark and morbid like one I went to nearby. I found more things than i expected and so did my daughter, we were delighted. Lovely jewelry to boot. I found what i wanted and more, at an affordable price, and the staff was warm and helpful as well, very pleased with this one, highly recommend this shop..no morbidity & no selling point here...just magical. read more

Great shop! Nice ambiance and clean. The owners are very knowledgeable in a variety of subject matter and eagerly explained anything we had a question about.
