I went in for an aura picture and reading. It was a great experience. I absolutely love how my picture came out and the reading I received after. The reader was very friendly and informative. Her presentation and intuition was spot on. I can't want to go back and do the couples picture with my husband. The crystal part of the shop was stunning. The store itself is small and crowded. If you're wearing backpack, you'll want to turn it around so you don't knock anything over. I went during October, so you can expect it to be busy. I booked my aura photo online in advance which is probably the smartest thing you can do! The service was very in and out. The best part was meeting Stacey who went over my aura photo with me. It's hard to describe but her explaining my aura photo gave me literal chills. I swear we teared up together at some point. She even gave me advice at the end. read more

Wow, this was such a fun experience! I forgot the name of our reader, I just remember he mentioned he is from Bulgaria originally! But he was so amazing, I truly enjoyed his readings and his presence. What a lovely soul. Me and my husband did individual aura and combined aura readings and he was sooo spot on! I love the vibe of the store too, very cute and magickal! I would go back again! It's a bit pricey, but I feel I got what I needed to hear and it matches the value :) read more

First of all. I dabble in Tarot and have had several other Tarot and psychic readings in Salem and elsewhere. I have some knowledge of what a good reading is. This experience that I had at Ascend was not good. I am not convinced the reader was experienced in reading Tarot. I'm still not clear on what it was that they were trying to convey and the information given to me made no sense. I started to spoon feed them some information just so I could be done with the process. Huge waste of money. Avoid. read more

This is the place to go in Salem for tarot readings or crystals. The vibe is fresh, clean, and uplifting. You can tell everyone who works there is kind, knowledgeable, and take a lot of care in sharing their practice with others. The tarot readings are done in private rooms in the back and both my friend and I enjoyed our first-ever readings. I wish they did palmistry too. Shopping afterwards was enjoyable too. I found a tarot deck that spoke to me from their eclectic and reasonably priced selection and my friend purchased a bunch of crystals and a bowl. Everything had signs sharing the meanings of each which was super helpful. Their jewelry was lovely too. I wish I had grabbed some stackable rings. Definitely a must stop in Salem and worth a follow on Instagram. read more

I did the aura reading, which cost around $70+ for two people, and it was surprisingly accurate. The reader was amazing, insightful and kind. The store itself was very nice, with a great selection of stones and other items. This store, along with one other, had a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, at other stores in Salem, the workers didn't greet me, so I chose not to spend my money elsewhere. ASCEND stood out for its welcoming vibe and quality experience. read more

Professional, kind, informative and such a great unique gift to take back home from my trip to Salem. I booked the Aurora session and 1/2hr tarot card reading online before I arrived since we were going to be there Halloween and it was a super busy time for crowd's I didn't want to miss the opportunity. Website super easy to navigate. Store stayed in communication with me via email. After the experience I definitely feel the price for product was very fair. I chose individual and couple pictures. After photo was developed we met with Michael who took us into a separate room away from general population to give us each a personal information rundown on the colors and meaning. Both individual and our couple photo. For someone who has never met with of us he was ON POINT! Definitely a moment to treasure in time. I came back at a later time to see Liz for my reading. I went to an office building off site for a private environment. Liz was professional, kind and thorough. She allowed me to take pictures of my cards and record our conversation. They have a lot of different services as well. The have so many pretty crystals and jewelry. Worth a stop while you are in Salem. One of my favorite stores! read more

I am not really into the metaphysical / crystal / occult that seems to pervade the air in and around Salem, however in planning a weekend there with my girl, we came across something very cool. * Aura Photography * The reservation process is not the greatest... You go online, choose a day you want to do your thing, pay for it, and then wait for a confirmation response. Eventually you get tired of waiting and call them up only to be told, yeah come in anytime, it's not actually a reservation... Sigh... Once you get there you go in back where they seat you (or you and your partner if doing a couples photo), and you place your hand on some metal sensors, and they take a long exposure photo. Then you get to walk around and check out the things available to buy while you wait for your photo to develop, and then one of the staff members interprets the aura for you. It seems like it costs a lot of money to take what seems to be a Polaroid but giving it the mystical meanings they describe is kinda fun and cool! The shop itself is full of books, and wonderful crystals of every color with nearby descriptor cards explaining what each crystal is supposed to do for you. read more

Cute place! It's small and has a variety of crystals. I booked the aura reading for a few friends and I'm happy I booked in advance bc it gets super busy. They take a picture of you and then you wet outside to get it developed. Once done, you will get a "reading" or explanation of the colors of your Aura. Overall my friend and I got very similar explanations. read more

Y sister and I are on a trip seeing everything Salem and we took our aura picture here. Let me say that the energy from the moment you walk in, is so loving and happy. Everyone is very welcoming and everything is so organized. They have a variety of items to chose from (crystals, rings, purse, etc) the pricing isn't so out of range either. Of course remember that the items sold at this store are quality not quantity, so the price is accordingly. I can't wait to return to Salem and visit them again. Lots of love from Cali. read more

This place was amazing! The shop itself is cute but busy!!! We booked our Aura photos online which indicated that we could come anytime during the day. My bestfriend and I got the individual aura pictures and the one together. I was sooo impressed with how in depth our session was with Alicia after to go over our aura's colors and what everything meant. I felt it was so personal and didn't feel rushed. Alicia was lovely, kind, gentle, and so welcoming. She is a GEM and she made the experience so special. This might be the most outstanding shop in Salem. As a regular visitor of spiritual shops around the world, I know immediately when a place isn't authentic. The crystals here are authentically sourced, the staff are experts, and the atmosphere is immaculate. If you're a baby witch, take it from this seasoned witch that you can feel at-ease you are not getting ripped off in terms of quality, ethically-made, and fair prices. I did the aura photography and had a great experience. I've had multiple interpretations in my life and this was one of the best and most thorough. ASCEND offers online scheduling which is extremely convenient and comforting while visiting Salem during the busy fall season. Aura photography is something everyone should try once and if you're in Salem, this is where you should do it. My connection ran so deep to this store that I signed up for their newsletter and have even placed an online purchase since. I'm envious this isn't in my own city. I think of ASCEND so warmly when I think about Salem. I wish I could have just lived in that store. I was also so impressed with how the owner handled some difficult customers who had unreasonable expectations about a tarot reading (friendly reminder to newbies: tarot taps into helping you explore the answers you already have within you. It's not predicting lottery numbers). The owner handled them with grace, ease, and kindness. This is exactly the type of small business I personally want to give my money to. read more

I have always wanted to do an aura reading and what better place than Salem! My husband and I dropped by and were able to get in relatively quickly. Prices were fair and loved that they do an interpretation of it afterwards. We had to leave for another resy but they were cool about letting us come back to complete it. I did knock it down a star because the blonde lady by the register was a lil rude. Just very short and looked frustrated with any question we asked. I hope she is not the owner because she needs to learn better customer service skills. read more

Obviously, going to Salem can be overwhelming. So when I saw this one store that offered oral photos, I just decided to go in. They took me right away. And KIRSTEN did a wonderful job with a photography and a reading as well. ANOTHER WONDERFUL SOUL I WOULD RECOMMEND IS LUCAS, Who does readings. Other goodies in this place include lots of crystals, jewelry, tarot cards. But you won't find any incense or anything of that sort. read more

My friend and I came to Salem all the way from St Louis, and out of all the stores we've been to, Ascend has been my favorite! The vibe there is light and friendly. Luis was the one who helped us out each of the 3 times we went in. He was very knowledgeable of the stones we were purchasing, and shared his own personal experiences of the stones with us. I'm recommending this store to everyone who visits Salem! (And trust me, there have been some low-vibe/dark stores we visited while here. This wasn't one of them!) Overall a great experience! Staff were friendly and inviting. My best friend and I got our separate aura photos taken and HANNAH the real MVP of the entire process was able to give a clear interpretation of our photos. I can't speak higher of the vibe we got from her and how knowledgeable she was. Also didn't know we would get a free comedy show out of this experience either lol. Went for a group reading / mediumship with Ellen and they Ascend changed it to Lynn week of. Lynn knew nothing and was certainly no psychic or medium. She was wrong with everyone on all counts and basically begged us to tell her things. Go to store for crystals but pass on the readings. Waste of $213.00. read more

i visited on monday (11/18) around 11am to receive an aura photo for $45. i was quite excited to see there was no line & a taller brunette man quickly checked me out without saying my total or offering a receipt. i then had my photo taken by hannah, waited for it to develop, & finally had another gal verbally explain what the colors in my photo meant. while i did not find my reading to be truthful, i still had a pleasant time and was happy to have a unique photo. i later checked my bank statement and was upset to find a $80+ charge. i called ascend to dispute this and found out the taller gentleman did not charge me correctly at all and added a $35 charge due to a 2 page aura reading to my total. whether this was on purpose or not, i am disappointed as i never asked for this page report and somehow the man purposefully never caught the total to be almost twice as much as it should have been ... it was a quick call to be refunded the extra $35, but that conversation would have been completely avoidable. read more

This is a bright, cheery, colorful shop with a surprisingly large selection of jewelry in such a small space. The staff is attentive and kind. If you're having an otherwise wonderful day in Salem and are enjoying the spirit of the town, but want to have this spirit completely disturbed, then take a stroll into this store. I overheard the owner/employee say something rude behind another customer's back. Thought I heard wrong. But then not much later he said something rude to his colleague or friend about me behind my back. Salem is a town of inclusion and belonging. It is a town of people with open minds. This guy is lost. He should move to a different part of the country. Sadly, they do have a wonderful selection everytime I've gone there, but this guy's rotten spirit completely disturbed the aura of this place. Won't be stepping in there again. read more

This lack of privacy was a bit of a turn off for me for getting readings here, personally. They were able to take my friend right away for a reading, though, so getting an appointment in the shoulder season seems relatively easy. I'm told the line for this shop goes down the street closer to fall, so clearly it's beloved, just wasn't the shop in town that most resonated for me.

Last year she bought a beautiful bracelet with large skulls. This year she wasn't able to go with us but I had my orders to take pictures and buy her a bracelet. I got there at the end of the night on a Sunday and took some pictures of the bracelet case and had to call my daughter to talk about which ones she liked. They were actually closing but one of the staff, a very lovely woman with a ton of patience helped me out after I explained that I was trying to do this by phone. Even at the end of the day after a very busy weekend, they still had smiles on their faces and were extremely helpful. We ended up buying a very cool crystal necklace that was a bottle and a bracelet. The staff made what had the potential to be very stressful into a good experience even though I knew that they were probably tired and worn out from the crazy October weekend. It's no coincidence that Artemisia Botanicals was named to a recent Yelp blog of the top 25 herbal shops in the USA! I was immediately captivated by the walls and walls of teas, oils, essences, candles, herbs, spices, incense, tinctures, salves, soaps and more. Whatever you need to enhance your spiritual practice, they carry here. One of the things that surprised me was how deep commercialization of witchcraft had hit Salem. However, Artemisia is the real deal and fully unaffected by the deep capitalism otherwise running rampant through the city. They in no way are sacrificing their authenticity, quality or commitment to the community. One of my main goals while visiting Salem was to have a tea leaf reading...and I was absolutely blown away by the tea leaf reading I received here! It really empowered my desire to want to learn more about it. Tea leaf readings seem to have reduced in commonality in the young witch community, but they had a fantastic young guy here who was trained by elders. You have to stop here and check this store out. I loved it so much... I work here now ! I was one of the first customers when this was just a company doing new moon/ full moon ceremonies and mediumship classes on zoom during the pandemic! I did most of them. Then i became a customer buying the spell jars, crystal packs and some of the first items this brand started carrying . Now I've moved to Salem to work here for spooky season! I also wish the reading booths had more privacy - they are just closed off by a curtain, and you can hear parts of peoples' readings in certain areas of the store. This lack of privacy was a bit of a turn off for me for getting readings here, personally. They were able to take my friend right away for a reading, though, so getting an appointment in the shoulder season seems relatively easy. I'm told the line for this shop goes down the street closer to fall, so clearly it's beloved, just wasn't the shop in town that most resonated for me.
