We absolutely love Marblehead Opticians. We started going here a couple of years ago when our oldest son needed to get glasses. Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable, and accessible. The service is exceptional. In the pre-covid days, I had a work trip planned and needed last minute contact lense replacements. Marblehead Opticians got them for me quickly, so that I could travel without worrying. Just today, my younger son broke his glasses, and we went to get replacements. We were in an out in under 15 minutes, and the glasses were under warranty, so we didn't have to pay anything. Definitely have won over our family, and now we all go there. read more

Very kind people. The owner has incredible skills including assessing confirming or producing peoples' eyewear prescriptions. He was able to produce multiple comfortable pairs of glasses for my father who needed prisms and had other difficult vision issues. Also, he has produced glasses and contacts for everyone else in the family with various extreme myopia, astigmatism, farsightedness or combination problems. This business is devoted to their customers in a way that is above and beyond. Gary, the owner of the business, hires people that genuinely care about others and take seriously the job they are doing everyday. Jim could not be more engaging and John and Joanne are also very helpful. They have multiple current stylish designer frames from high end to frames for those that might need something in the lower cost category . They are so kind to children and people with various disabilities and I have often witnessed this care and kindness. They treat everyone with the same respectful attitude . These guys are great. Some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. When I bought my first pair of prescription eyeglasses there, the lenses had some kind of manufacturer defect. I brought them back after a couple of weeks, pointed it out, and received my new glasses 2 days later, no charge. A few months later, my non-prescription sun glasses broke. They had cost me about $250 at Sunglass Hut. I brought them to Sunglass hut and they told me they couldn't do anything to help me but they would give me 15% off a new pair if I wanted to do that. No thanks. I brought my broken sunglasses into Marblehead Opticians, where I didn't even buy them, and they fixed them, while I waited, at no charge! Good as new. read more

I had fun buying glasses!! This adorable boutique carries a huge selection of designer glasses (Chanel, Prada, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Vera Wang, Gucci, etc). The two owners are a hoot and know their trade inside and out. They will be honest and not let you buy glasses that do not fit your face, while not feeling pushy or mean about it. Very professional! I skipped the mall and tried Marblehead Opticians when my favorite pair of sunglasses broke and was looking to upgrade. This was the best experience I've had buying sunglasses. I'm used to the Sunglasses Hut experience where you point to a pair, try them on, point to a pair, try them on etc. At Marblehead Opticians they are honest when a pair aren't a good match for my face shape, which I appreciate. I found a couple pairs that were okay until they started pulling sunglasses out of the back and after a couple tries we found a pair that I couldn't be happier with. I've never seen that kind of customer service at a Sunglasses Hut or department store. I ended the day with an amazing pair of sunglasses within my budget. Thanks guys! read more

I absolutely love Marblehead Opticians. I do not even live in MA, but it's worth waiting unitl I am in Marblehead to make an eyewear purchase. They have the best selection I have seen even compared to any department store, chain or other specialty store. I have a small face and was able to easily find a fabulous pair of Chanel frames. This is not easy for me anywhere, except here. The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!! I am one of those folks who never gives a review but had to praise Gary for the exceptional service I received. After "gently" stepping on and crushing my favorite light weight Alex Miles frame that were several years old, I researched and discovered Marblehead Opticians and was referred to Gary. I contacted Gary from my home in Florida and he quoted me the most reasonable price for a new frame popping in my old lenses. Being mostly a contact lens wearer, the lenses were still in great shape. I wanted the same frames as they are extremely comfortable and lightweight. He was so helpful and customer service centric which is getting rarer these days. Mailed the broken glasses up and was excited to get a brand new pair back in the mail within the same week. If you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend you consider them. best place to buy eyewear. excellent selection. was in twice, first time to pick out my pair which they allowed me to bring home, when i returned them i was awaiting an eye appointment with my personal eye doctor before purchasing the glasses with an old perscription. i arrived at 3 and gary was in the process of closing. he held the store open and gave me an eye exam, buying the glasses that day. they arrived within 24 hours. couldnt have had better service. john was the rep who fit me for the glasses. very thorough and methodical. only advice, go early because the store can get surprisingly busy. read more
