Dr. Klaahsen really took the time to find the right contacts for me and WHOA...I didn't realize how much I couldn't see anything before! That's a long story BUT the point is that Dr. Klaahsen is a great Doctor. She really cares about her people in a way you don't often get from physicians. After the exam, I was told I would only receive my prescription if I purchased lenses directly from the provider. When I refused, I was denied my prescription, pressured into a $700 rigid contact lens, and told I would no longer be accepted as a patient. My $200 exam fee was refunded, and the service was terminated instead of providing my prescription. I was also denied access to my medical records. This situation raises serious concerns under the FTC Contact Lens Rule, which protects patients' right to receive their prescription after an eye exam regardless of purchase. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Massachusetts Attorney General. From teaching me how to properly use contact lenses, will was kind, gentle and patient with me. He made my family and I feel comfortable. He took his time showing us frames while we waited and he didn't try to upswell anything, he told me pros and cons of frames as well as pros and cons to contacts. When it came time to add ons he explained din detail what everything cost vs if it was recommended. The Dr himself we love too. He is also very kind and patient with my kids and my mom, my mom whom speaks little English he never talks down on her like previous Dr. they make it easy to check in with the iPads and I see the staff clean thoroughly after each patient. What can I say about Optica Brasil?…read more My Brasillian friends have been raving about this place for months, and after getting totally milked over by one of those mall optical shops, I decided to give them a try when it was time to get new glasses. I called to make an appointment so I could have my eyes checked, and they were so gracious on the telephone. I even got an appointment for the next day. When I went into the shop, it was so clean and tidy, and I didn't get a feeling of being rushed, unlike that mall shop. The doctor was really nice, and spend a ton of time trying making sure i had the right prescription. (I have an astigmatism so it can be tricky to get the settings just right). Ordering new glasses was a breeze. Optica Brasil has a wide selection of different styles and frames, all from different manufacturers! Plus many good looking frames were AFFORDABLE. I actually saved enough money that I was able to buy a pair of prescription sunglasses too! Carolina made the entire process so easy, and she was so friendly and personable. She definitely made me want to come back! And I definitely will. I booked directly with them online for a new patient eye exam as they were one of the closer places to me that actually takes Davis Vision insurance. The place was pretty easy to find and they have a small parking lot in the back as well which was convenient as it had just snowed and street parking were pretty tough at the time. The office is actually on the second floor when the staff kindly directed me when I was at the first floor office and I had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes after my appointment time before the Dr was ready to see me. Mostly because they would reach out to check your insurance beforehand so that was very helpful to cut down the wait time. The whole exam went very smoothly and Dr. Hussoin was very patient in answering all my questions. I was out with my new prescription in hand in maybe 20-30 minutes. I would highly recommend her for all your optometry needs !

They told me my usual contacts were discontinued and found a new brand to try. The lenses they proposed were outdated and super uncomfortable but when I asked for other options they said there weren't. I know perfectly that there are other options so I requested my prescription and went to find other more competent doctors. But I needed to pay for a new eye exam fully out of pocket because my insurance already paid for their useless service. They just took my money and basically confirmed my old prescription and did absolutely nothing! They basically don't know what they arre doing! Plus the office is very old and the instruments they use very outdate! They keep the contacts in ziplock bags on a old wood bookshelf! Never again!
