These folks have been fantastic. You can get an appointment online (which humans and an automated system confirm with care; also making changes is no issue), and the store is clean and attractive. Every single person I dealt with there was pleasant and professional, and the eye doctor is the best I've had *anywhere* in terms of being clear, open, informative, and thorough. I really feel like I got the best eye-exam of my life, including some fantastic home-eye-care advice and tips, and like I have somewhere to go back for future exams, glasses, contacts etc. for life. This place is the worst. The spam call you for scheduled appointments. Even after you have confirmed the appointment they will call you again and text to ask you to confirm again. And if you don't confirm again.. they just cancel your appointment and give it away. When you call them they place you on hold for a very long time. And if you call to ask for your records to be transfered to another office.. they tell you it's a 2 week wait time. And they just don't do it. You will have to hound them to get it. I don't recommend every going to this place if you value your time. read more

This places sucks. Went here years ago to get a new prescription with my fiancee. Our appointments took a lot longer than we anticipated and it was annoying to listen to people working at the front desk giggling and gossiping while waiting. Now let's get into Dr.I.....who was extremely unprofessional. For an optometrist she was incredibly pushy with where to use my prescription and where to buy new frames and started shit taking other reputable stores for no good reason. My fiancee was told by Dr.I that she had to purchase her new contact lenses through them and was unable to use her prescription anywhere else....which is 100 percent Illegal!!! My suspicion is that they were trying to take advantage of her for being a foreigner which is totally unacceptable. After my fiancee threatened to report her she backed off. I still keep getting spam emails and phone calls two years later, and have made it clear with them to stop contacting me as I find their way of doing business to be unprofessional. Still can't get them to unsubscribe me! The next time they solicit me I will report them and share my experience with the BBB. read more

I had a poor experience with All Eye Care. I scheduled my appointment and then was emailed and called 3 times in two days to confirm. Two of the three times, I was asked if I could come earlier, which didn't work for me. Not the biggest issue, but Its incredibly annoying to confirm something one time and then be called while at work two more times for the same thing. When I actually went for my appointment, the front desk staff was rude and dismissive. I wasn't asked for my insurance card, or any information, just charged a copay of $39. With my insurance company, the co pay should be $10. When I called All Eye Care back a couple of days later, then said its in the fine print that they charge $39 no matter what. Back to the appointment; I was scheduled for 4 pm and wasn't seen until 5 pm. Total waste of time and extremely frustrating. When the doctor finally saw me, I was quite turned off. She was kind and seemingly helpful, but it was apparent that she was trying to make money. She told me to send my whole family in for exams.Once I was done, she said she wanted to see me back in a month to check my eyes again, and that she wanted me to have another type of eye exam as well. I thought to myself, absolutely not. She said my eyes were fine, and that I just needed a pair of glasses for driving at night, so I have no idea why I need to come back in a month to "check them again." When I went to get fitted for my glasses, the girl who helped me was awesome. In fact, she was the one good part of my experience. She sat there with me and let me try 15+ pairs until I found one I liked. When I came back a couple of days later to pick them up, she made sure they fit my face properly and made tweaks to make sure they were straight. So all in all, this establishment gets a 2 from me. Go to a regular eye doctor that doesn't have a store. That way they can't scam you and try to get you to spend money. Shannon gets a 5 though, and she deserves a raise! read more

I was truly surprised by selection of frames they have. I think they are bit pricey but if you are looking for something unique and outstanding, you will find it. I found a beautiful unique pair that fit me well. Doctor was really nice and took the time to do the exam and explain everything. Went to appointment back in September. They have no problem telling customers that if you don't show up on time, there is a $50 fee... meanwhile making on-time patients wait for them. I left after waiting an hour because I had to get back to work. They called to apologize, and ask me to come back. Came back later that day, again a 30 min wait after being promised that it wouldn't happen again. Got my results and felt like I went from a optician to a car dealership, being pressured to buy stuff. Left without buying anything and feeling salty. They even texted me a few days later to see if I would be interested in coming back to look at glasses. Texted back a few weeks later to get a copy of my prescription... Was told they had no record from my visit a month before. Only after a complaint noting I was there and paid, did I get an apology with the prescription. Unprofessional at best. If you don't value your time, enjoy being pressured to buy new glasses, receiving empty apologies and having staff mismanage your health care data, you're in luck with All Eye Care. I am so disappointment in this place and myself for wasting my time. Similar to everyone else, I had to wait 45-an hour for my scheduled appointment. I originally went for what I assumed was a medial appointment for an eye stye. They required that I pay upfront and didn't apply my insurance. By the time I finally saw the doctor, he was so rude and just unfriendly. He didn't end up treating me for anything and pretty much talked to me like an idiot for not knowing that I had a block eye gland. He did however conduct an eye exam, but apparently only for glasses instead of contacts. Why? I don't know, I've always had both and we spent the entire time discussing contact brands and prescriptions. Which speaking of, he belittled me for the brand of contacts that I've worn and my visits (I go annually but have moved/changed insurances so I didn't have my most recent prescription on me at the time.) A couple of years ago I thought I might be having a issue with my eye and my previous eye doctor was no longer in business. I decided to try All Eye Care and am glad I did. Since then I have been back for routine exams with new prescriptions. I have found the staff friendly and the exams thorough. They also have an excellent selection of eyewear but I have never felt pressured to buy from them. This a gorgeous optical shop with amazing customer service!! From the moment I walked in to browse frames, Fadi greeted me with a big smile and asked if I needed help. I was looking for a very specific style of frame, but couldn't quite explain the shape which is when Shannon walked over. She's their lens/frame specialist. She was able to direct me to the right wall of frames and ask me questions on when/how often I wear glasses. Which I really appreciated since those questions aren't always asked, she was trying to get me the best fit. I wound up learning about lots of different lens options. I thought transition lenses were for old people, but now they come in different colors and seem to change faster. I never thought I'd be one of those people to try them, but Shannon convinced me and OMG they are really cool. I can't even tell when they change colors because it's so smooth, all I know is that I'm not squinting in the sun. They are bit tinted in doors for a bit, but I like the look especially with the frames we picked. Very retro. Bonus the frames weren't the ones I was looking for, they were better. I'll certainly be returning with friends to get Shannon and team to continue to give me amazing eyewear. I would recommend this shop to anyone. You're the best!!!! read more

I was supposed to go for a regular eye check up, and I got a call from my insurance saying these guys called them for a referral because I have "a serious eye condition" and the referral would cost me $$$. I wish I had read the yelp reviews versus the google reviews, since some of the reviews reflect a similar sour experience I had as well. I'll liken the experience to walking through the Marrakech souq/ bazaar, you don't know what the price is for anything and you may be up charged. 1. Eye check - so my insurance covers annual eye check and i had explained this to the front desk but they insisted that they don't have a basic annual check, and that I d be require to pay $15 to do comprehensive check using few pieces of extra equipment. Fine, they did it but end up they didn't even explain the results and just made me go into a room to do a few tests and clearly trying to charge extra 2. Similar to everyone here - the appointment was late by 1 hour - I'm not sure how it's possible but the situation is chaotic and despite feeling sympathetic for the Dr at the time of the visit, it seems it is a recurring situation for everyone. 3. During the hour I was waiting for the eye check, I browsed around for glasses and chose a few lens and the store associate was not very transparent about pricing- when I asked for price he would rearrange the glasses in order of high to low theatrically and gave me a range of 4xx and above. I immediately knew their prices were way higher than what I m used to paying for similar brands. It was at this point I knew I was not going to be buying a pair of glasses here. 4. Last but not least is the Dr I s check up experience - I appreciated that she was professional and kept covid friendly procedures however I could not help but notice that she kept on bashing the glasses I was wearing and she said this US eyewear company that has a brick and mortar store as well as online presence does not do a good job on their lens and I should never go there again. I think it's acceptable to have an opinion but like everyone here - she rehashed her point several times to sound like a salesperson that I couldn't take her professional advice genuinely . I have never been for an eye exam before today because I've been lucky. Unfortunately, I've been experiencing some issues with my right eye and because I have limited health insurance, my options were few so I made an appointment here. Over the phone, they told me my exam would be fully covered but then they tried to charge me once I was checking in. The front desk is very unfriendly and the two men sitting across from them who (I think?) help people get fitted for glasses were very unprofessional. One of them pulled out a face mask (COVID times) that said "I can't breathe" which is a statement against the killing of black people and everyone who worked there chuckled. One of them kept pulling his mask down to drink his Starbucks drink and the other reeked of cigarette smoke and his mask kept falling down below his nose and he didn't seem to care. One of these guys used the tiniest wipe ever to wipe down THREE different machines for me to put my face in so that he could take pictures. I would exactly say it felt sanitary. I waited over an hour to be seen by the doctor who had a terrible bedside manner. After the exam, she was adamant about me getting glasses both for computer usage and driving (even after I told her I can't drive due to a disability). Then I told her I needed to think about this and asked if I could please just have my prescription. She said okay but then insisted I meet with the two men at the front to pick out glasses (which weren't covered by my insurance).I asked one of these men if I could have a hard copy of my Rx and he said "Yes. I'll email it to you." Last time I checked, a hard copy was not the same as an email and I don't have a printer so there's that. Finally, while I waited for what felt like forever to be seen, I noticed the license on the wall expired 1/31/2020...today's date is 9/9/20. I came home and immediately called my primary dr so that I can get a second opinion from a place that feels less like a store and more like a doctor's office/medical setting. The end game here doesn't feel like patient care but more like they just want your money. I don't doubt that I need glasses, which is totally possible. I'm just very skeptical about how accurate the Rx is and still don't understand exactly why I need them since it was poorly explained to me and the doctor seemed annoyed when I told her I didn't understand. She was too eager to get me over the men who got the glasses ready for you. I would never suggest this place to anyone. Ever. read more

The other reviews are correct that there's some extra $15 charge for an eye checkup, so just FYI. Everyone here is nice and whatnot, but the glasses are definitely more expensive than other places. Overall, this place is only good if you want to lose 1-2h of your time. Been here multiple times, and they are always "backed up" to the point of being unbelievably behind with your appointment. 1h is definitely being generous with how slow they are, the reality is more like 1.5h. She is so patient with my sons and has helped myself greatly repair my eyes from over use of contacts from previous experiences with other doctors. I went there for the first time yesterday. They were quite backed up with some emergencies that had come up this morning, so ran a bit behind, but Dr. I still was very attentive to me during my appointment and answered all my questions with great detail and courtesy. They offered me a very generous discount to apologize for the delay, and I was able to get my glasses less than 24 hours later! Everyone at the office has been very friendly and helpful, and they have good Covid protocols and cleaning practices in place. All in all a job well done! read more

In the past my husband, mother-in-law, and I have been to your Medford location for exams, glasses, and contacts.  I found the pricing to be high, but the customer service was phenomenal. Due to pricing I gave another company a try, and at the suggestion of my husband I decided to return to All Eye Care. I went in last Friday to make an eye exam, I know my BCBS HMO Blue has a zero cost non medical standard eye exam, no referral needed if in network. I tried to explain this to the gentlemen, but he insisted there would be a referral and co-pay, I knew this not to be true, but I made the appointment.  I went home and verified it was free, but before coming in I cancelled the appointment and verified today with my insurance that it is at no cost. So I called to go over this and again was told regardless I would have to pay unless I wanted blurry vision.   In both case they were rude, talking over me, cutting me off, and over selling.  I did ask for their names, they never offered them, but after their rudeness I forgot them... Not the experience I need or want to deal with.  It is completely unacceptable. For this reason I shall never return to your business. read more

They were certainly nice and professional here and the doctor was great. I would have given them five stars happily but for one thing: they refuse to measure the PD, which you need to get glasses online. They will do it only if they are making the glasses in store. This is a blatant attempt to get people to purchase glasses only at their store and take away purchasing choice from consumers. They gave me some line about it coming back on them if the glasses purchased elsewhere are messed up, but since most opticians provide PD I'm calling BS. Also, I told them pre exam that I was going to order my glasses online and so ended up paying even though they knew they would not be able to provide me with what I needed. The doctor also told me they would be able to provide the PD. Turned what could have been a good experience and made it into a place I won't be able to return. UPDATE: although I still think the PD policy is absurd, to her credit the owner of the store contacted me and offered to make it right with some serious discounts as well as taking my PD. The original policy is a bad one; however I give genuine props to the owner for taking responsibility and doing what she could to make my experience better. I will be considering returning next year and felt that the second time was a much more positive experience. I'll give it 3.5-4 stars given the lengths they went to after my first negative experience. UPDATE 2: the glasses the owner went to all this trouble to give me do not seem to be great quality. actually, they seem to be pretty bad quality. one side snapped off a month into owning them, and although they were covered by the warranty it took over a week; they also fog up and smudge more quickly and easily than any other glasses i have ever owned, including cheapies from eye buy direct and similar. After the owner made such a huge deal out of what great glasses these would be and how much better off I'd be getting them from her shop rather than online, this is...disappointing to say the least. read more

I have such mixed reviews about this place. Ended up coming here from my usual eye doctor because I didn't have access to a car. So I'll list the pros and cons based on my eye and contacts exam as well as my follow-up visit for my contacts. Pros: -great location, beautiful office, extremely nice and helpful staff. Everything seems to have a nice flow. During my exam, they were quick and efficient. Cons: -The doctor was incredibly rushed and I felt like I couldn't ask questions or feel relaxed during the exam because she was a fast mover. -they are also incredibly busy so you don't really get that personalized eye care experience -waited 50 mins to be seen for my contacts eye exam. 50 mins is a waste of my time on a Friday!!! Main reason for 3 stars. -I will also agree with other reviewers that they are very sales driven and a bit pushy. They completed ruined my expectation. The front desk man is always a poker face, I don't feel welcomed there. My eye exam was done by an intern, who didn't even mention her name or title. What's worse, my wife's eye exam was done by a front desk woman. After the exam, it took me three weeks to get my glasses. My last hope was that they could fit the frame well to my face, but they completed failed the job. Truthfully this place deserves zero stars. The first time I came here was back in June of last year, paid a $49 co pay for a comprehensive eye exam. I remember the staff being pushy about selling me a pair of expensive overpriced lens, but I opted to go elsewhere for frames as they didn't have the lightweight ones I wanted. Fast forward to today. I scheduled an appointment for a contact lens exam as I am running low and need to order some soon. I arrived 30 minutes early to the exam, the receptionist at the counter seemed annoyed of my presence before she even said anything to me. I check in, she takes my insurance cards... then proceeds to say things very quickly along the lines of you're due for your comprehensive exam that is covered with your insurance, but the contact lens exam will be $120 out of pocket. Take note... the comprehensive eye exam is covered with my insurance - so why did i pay a $49 co pay last year..? When I asked about the co pay of $120 she replied, "Contact lens exams are never covered in Massachusetts and the fee is all the same everywhere" Thats false. Dr. I is an in network provider for my insurance and it clearly states lense exams are either $25 or $45 dollar co pay. She then bargains with me that I can use my $125 allowance that is suppose to be for the actual contact lenses to pay for the exam if I wanted. Um, no? That would be essentially the same thing as paying for the exam because I will need to order contact lenses regardless. After I declined, I said I would not go ahead with the exam. She visibly was upset, stated, "Well I wish this was communicated beforehand because we held the spot for you". Well I wish that it was communicated to me that the office would try to scam me before I wasted my time to go all the way down there. Just stay away... stay far far away. I used to live in the building just across the street, so I came here since I needed a new prescription - big mistake. I waited almost an hour because my initial appointment was on a Saturday and they seemed to double or triple book patients. I made my follow-up for a weeknight evening, and still waited over half an hour. The front-desk people weren't very friendly, seemed irritated by my presence, and were very pushy (I don't need new glasses, I only wear them right before bed or around the house on the weekends - stop pushing me to get new glasses). I didn't once walk to the wall of glasses even just to kill time, and one of the girls came over to where I was sitting and said, "I noticed you checking out the glasses..." I wasn't. Dr. I was nice enough, albeit a bit gruff for my taste. The big issue I had is that when I came in for my follow-up and came into the exam room, someone else's record was up on her computer screen. As a medical profession myself, I know that this is not only a huge breach of privacy, but illegal. I will not be coming back here. read more

I am kicking myself for not reading Yelp reviews before I made my appointment! I booked using zocdoc which does not have a great user-base for reviews. My takeaway from this place is that I feel completely scammed. I was billed in a super sketchy manner. I was told that because I complained of 'headaches' my visit was not preventative (or covered by my insurance) and therefore I was charged $300+. After my appointment I literally had to sneak away and run to my car to avoid the incredibly uncomfortable and overbearing sales techniques on their outrageously overpriced frames. I think the true sketchiness of this optometrist can be viewed via example on this yelp page. They uploaded a photo as an "important disclaimer!" that through a "glitch" all of their positive ratings are hidden. What the hell? Who does that? You literally have 1.5 stars. read more

The prescription they gave for my contacts really helped my eyes- it definitely needed to be updated. I did wait for around 40 minutes. The doctor was pleasant and helpful. However, the entire time I felt very pressured to be purchasing eyeglasses directly from the store even though I said I did not want to purchase eyeglasses. I was not even given the option to not look at the glasses- I was immediately walked to the glasses after my eye care appt and pressured into buying. They also did not give me the contact prescription after leaving my appointment. I then emailed to request my contact prescription twice to buy from a 3rd party vendor- they then called me instead to get me to buy through their office for $300. I finally got them to send me my contact prescription but would not recommend- the entire process felt slightly shady. read more

The doctor and office manager harass customers with phone calls and emails and then ask for you to take down/edit your review. Luckily the insurance company listened and stepped in. STAY AWAY as what they submit for claims does not match the bill you get. If I could give zero stars, I would! I have insurance and these folks up the price of the frames to make up for that! After reviewing my bill I noticed I did not receive a 20% discount on frames. I was told the discount was already applied. I didn't quite believe them so I called their other office in Cambridge asking about the exact frame. I was quoted exactly what I paid. My experiences at All Eye Care Doctors were all bad. First, Dr I is basically a high pressure salesperson rather than a "Doctor". She was dismissive of my experience with the contacts that she was recommending compared to the pair I was happy with, while trying to push me to change at literally 5 times the price - and brought up the same argument no less than four times during my visit. And yes Dr I., I did find a cheaper source than you online (50% less, even with your rebate). The atmosphere of the office is also tense - I'd hate to work for her! Went to All Eye Care Doctors due to pain in my cornea, was very glad that they accepted walk ins! Very friendly and helpful staff, but the best part was Dr. Dzenana Idrizovic. She was thorough professional and helped me a lot to relieve the pain I had. She handed me free samples of medications (eye drops) which many places normally would not give away. I had several follow ups, which the Dr suggested and each time I had a wonderful experience with the Dr as well as the staff. Very glad that i got my eyes treated here. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who would want to go for an eye check up or an exam. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about All Eye Care Doctors and Dr. I. I have been a patient here for 4 years and have always had exceptional experiences. The staff and doctors are kind, attentive and treat you like a person, not a number. They care about your well being. I have never known a doctors office to call my insurance and sit on hold for 30 minutes because they didn't want ME to pay more than I needed to and also be willing to stay an hour and a half past closing time to urgently see me to avoid having to go to the ER, just to be told I needed to consult my eye doctor.
