The communication is awful. Customer service is hit or miss. Quality is lacking. Definitely would not recommend.

I have since received an eye exam here, and the physician was very thorough. If you value your eyes/vision, you must come here.

I've needed her help with glasses a dozen, or more, times, and she never disappoints. My wife went to a Boston Opthamologist, who wrote a prescription she had filled by the Optometrists next door. The prescription was wrong, and the frames didn't fit. It took a year for them trying to get it right. She finally gave up, and took her script to Shellie. Within days, she got the glasses back, and EVERYTHING worked the way it was supposed to. I would never hesitate to recommend Shelli. In her profession, she's as good as it gets. Ten stars!,,

I need them desperately to see. Ordering glasses at most places would take days to come in. Teaches me a lesson not to have a back up pair around. So on a whim I found The Eye Place. First off, on Shelles The Eye Place website, I really liked what she had to say about herself, her background, and how she runs her business. As a person that has spent many years in sales, I believe in transparency and not being pushy with the customer. Shellee has those same values. Transparently speaking I just went in there to see if she had any ideas on how I could maybe fix them. She's quite lovely in person. She knows what she's talking about and treats you like your family. I felt like I had known her for years, the way that we talked. When I finally pulled out my glasses to show her what had happened, she didn't even miss a beat. She found a similar frame and popped out the lenses on my broken pair of glasses and put them in the new frames. The new frames are at a great price point. She made little adjustments on the glasses to ensure they fit my face properly. The transaction was smooth and seamless. I love my new glasses. Shellee has a wonderful selection of glasses to fit any face and designs to fit anyone's unique style. You can tell by the way Shellee interacts with you that she loves what she does and she ensures that her customers leave with a smile on their face and the perfect eyeglass frames. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful Optician that takes pride in their work and delivers high quality care.

I flunked my first contact application appointment and I booked a second appointment for contacts at 3:30 hesitantly, explaining I wouldn't be able to arrive until 3:40. I was assured this would be fine. I arrived at 3:40 and went into the doctors' office around 4:10/4:20. I had practiced beforehand and was able to put the contacts in (hooray!). I had an unexpectedly really hard time getting the contacts out though. After trying for a while and asking for help, my doctor Amanda Gannon told me she "didn't know what to tell me" and that if I couldn't get them out by myself or with assistance that I would have to go to the ER and have them surgically removed and that MyEyeDoctor was closing in 10 minutes. She kept telling me that I had to get the contacts out and that they were closing until I started crying. She kindly told me she would wait until I could get them off and after the pressure was taken off, I was able to take out the contacts. She told me I had "gotten myself worked up" and that I would most likely be able to put contacts in at home. I was surprised to see that I left exactly at 5, which is when MyEyeDoctor closes. I can't imagine how hard these eye doctors are working and how much they want to get home, but this is one of those experiences in healthcare that will stick with me. I appreciate the doctor giving me some extra time, but I really feel like this whole thing could have been avoided with different scheduling or with my doctor easing up when she realized I was struggling with the contacts. I did wind up getting them out in time for closing, but I was really scared and upset. Lovely front of desk people, nurses, and doctors, and I've had very positive experiences with my glasses, so perhaps this was just a bad day.

As I noted to Shannon, and to Dr. Miller - the folks who worked with me - their services were faster, more complete, and provided me with much more information than my previous optician. Also, the eyeglasses I purchased were half the price of my previous glasses - $326 from Peabody Eye Assoc., as opposed to over $600 from the previous optician. The best? My new glasses work perfectly, especially the bifocals! In fact, the bifocals work better than my $600 glasses bifocals. In other words, I was a stupid lady. I wasted money and time (old glasses took 2 weeks to complete, new glasses took about an hour). The customer service was superb. Everyone - including the young ladies behind the admin desk, were attentive and responsive. I have no idea why Janice C. had such a problem - and by the way, HIPPA regs do not apply to the walk-in optician in a mall. In any event, no one texted through my check-in, each admin did her job, and when one of the girl's computer went down, they all helped her get through her work. So - half the price, a tenth of the time, and 10X the customer service.

When I tell her I'm there to pick up contacts she'll tell me she can't help me, step away and stand in the kiosk not assisting other customers, while Kyle runs around frantically taking care of ALL of the customers. Please promote Kyle or at least give him a raise! That said... I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Deanne tonight. I wanted to order a 6 month supply of my contacts. My prescription - which hasn't changed over the past couple of years - is due to expire this month. As all contact lens wearers know, your prescription is good for one year, however my insurance (BCBS) just this year changed their benefit to only allow eye exams once every year and a half. I am a teacher and sadly cannot afford to cover the costs of an eye exam and contact fitting fee out of my own pocket. Since my eyes have been stable, my optometrist's office advised me to order contacts in advance to carry me through the additional 6 months. At first Deanne refused to place my order. Once I explained my situation to Deanne she begrudgingly asked for my card number. I typically order a 3 month supply so i asked her to confirm it woukd be a 6 month. She very condescendingly told me how many contacts would be in each box and said "so yes it will be 6 months." Then, as I began to give her my card number, she rudely interrupted me telling me it wasn't a Visa (it is). Exhausted, I asked if I could just come in with cash. I asked for her name and she proudly told me it was Deanne, and that she was the manager. I'll now be trying to find another discount provider for my contacts. Perhaps BJs has better customer service.
