My dad's truck had a flat, he didn't have a can of fix-a-flat and when he attempted to remove the wheel to put his spare on had a hell of a time making it budge. So he called AAA, they sent someone out and after a few minutes of trying conceded that he'd just tow the truck somewhere to have the flat repaired. Shouldn't have been a problem but my dad's recovering from some heart issues and had to be in town for some tests at MGH at noon. So I ride along with the tow truck, figuring it'll take ten minutes to patch the flat and then I can bring my dad's truck home. Unfortunately AAA sent us to Town Fair Tire, it's where my dad bought the tires two years prior and vowed never to return after spending 4 hours waiting for them to be mounted, where I'd spent 4 hours (mid day on a weekday!) over the summer replacing tires that were under warranty. I spent 3 hours there today, three hours to patch and put air in one flat tire. Additionally I was forced to watch an episode of Wings on the television in the waiting area which only made the passage of time slow down even further. I gave them one star because I admire their dedication, their work probably takes so long because they're removing each wheel lug with their teeth and tapping rubber trees out back to create their own tires. read more

But, I got a flat and they offered free flat repair, so I took my car in mid morning on a weekday and it didn't seem that busy from the people waiting in the store.I was there for 3.5 hours. So thanks to the wonderful roads of Massachusetts I got a flat tire a few weeks ago from hitting a pothole - trying to avoid 10 others. whatever. it sucked. Sooo I went over to town fair tire where I bought the four tires that are currently on my car (or were before one went flat). And I should note I had a good experience at Town Fair Tire in Dedham/West Roxbury where I got the initial 4 tires. So perhaps it's just THIS town fair tire that is terrible. I walk in and a guy starts to help me. We go out to look at my car and he says I need to rotate the tires, get an alignment, and obviously a new tire (and dispose of the flat). Fine. He pulls out a rock (pebble) kind of stuck in the tread and says "I just saved you another flat". Yea thanks... I said can you please put my spare back in it's proper place in the trunk? Yes he says yes of course - that is part of what we do. Great. I pay for this - almost $200 - and he says it will take 30-60 minutes and you will be all set. Fine. I take a seat. and wait. and wait. and wait. 30 minutes. 60 minutes. 90 minutes. WTF... I get up and ask what the hold up is? They told me 30-60 minutes and now we are at 90 and they haven't even taken my car in the back what is going on? The guy says yea we are a little backed up. clearly. 120 minutes later they FINALLY take my car around back to start working on it. My point is: tell people the truth and they won't be so pissed.. If it's going to take 2.5 hours tell me that! Don't tell me 30 minutes!!!!! Oh and as if wasting 2+ hours of my workday didn't suck enough, the chairs at this place were soo awful I had a backache and needed to take advil by the time I was done waiting. My car finally comes back around and I get my keys and can go home. I open the trunk to check if they actually put the tire back under the floor where it screws into the bottom. Nope. Just tossed on top of the stuff in my trunk. I am so beyond bullshit I can't even go back in to make them do this. I just want to not be in their store one more minute. BUT WTF I asked for it, probably paid for it, and don't these people take ANY pride in their work to do it right? Who tosses the spare on top of my stuff in the trunk? When I SPECIFICALLY asked them to put it back and the guy that took my order assured me that is their policy. Whatever. I start driving and it seems to be they never even fixed the damned alignment either! The car is still pulling to the left. And the steering wheel shakes when I get to about 55 mph. ARGH WTF did I pay these people to do? Next time (if there is one) I'm going back to the Dedham/West Roxbury location. read more

I would avoid this place. I went in there with a nail through the tire, pretty standard fix, but the guy didn't look at it for 10 seconds before concluding that there was no way to fix it and I needed a new tire. If thats the case, OK, I understand... and the 2-hour wait...fine. But what really irked me was that they didn't properly put my spare back in my trunk, just threw it in there. I thought it was pretty par for the course for a tire place to put back the spare and the jack properly in my trunk. I just paid $150 for one tire, that probably could have been fixed. Just a lousy effort to try and win a customer. There is an NTB about 50 yards further down the street...I will try there next time. read more

No complaints about the products i was sold at TFT, but they lose 3 stars for the very sub-par service. My story begins, any many tire store stories do, by hitting a pothole. After putting on my spare and making sure the rim was not damaged, i called up the my closest Town Fair Tire. My tires are fairly new, so i just needed to replace the one that had popped. After checking the manufacturer's website, This location was the closest one that carried that brand. I call and give my tire size, brand, and model. They don't have that particular model in their computer system, but have one that is one digit different. I confirm i am reading the model correctly. I am. I search online for the model number and find several websites with that model number (unfortunately no local shops), confirming that the model does exist. They still do not have the model. They offer to call me back in 5 minutes as they "look into it" They do not call back. I call them later in the day, and there is no mention of "looking into" the situation. At this point i have done my own research and concluded that the tires are close enough to not matter, and agree to order that they have in their system. It is early Friday afternoon. The tires are not in stock, and will take "about 24 hours" to come in, from the time i order them. I order them and ask if they can call me as soon as they come in, as i have an appointment from 1-3 on Saturday, and they close at 4, and are closed on Sunday. They do not call on Saturday. I call after my appointment at 3, and they do now have the tire (no mention of why i was not called). Unable to make it in before 4, i resign myself to getting it fixed on Monday. I show up on Monday, and it takes several minutes (and a conversation with a manager) to figure out where my 'order' is. Turns out that it not yet been entered into the system. We enter all my information into the system. The person working with me asks if i was quoted a price, because of course they don't have anything documented. I can't remember, but eventually we get to a number that i'm comfortable with. I pay, they take my keys, and as i wait, i watch them try to find the tire. For all the delays up until that point, it actually didn't take them very long to install the tire. About 30 minutes later i was out the door. So things ended well enough, but the frustration i had to deal with prior to that left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I went to get a new tire for my Cooper today. The rep came out and looked at the tire and said I can't sell you a new tire unless you buy two because you are supposed to have run flats. The last tire I had replace about 3 months ago was a non run flat. It works perfectly. I simply want to replace the now destroyed run flat with one that matches the other tire on the front. Town Fair said it's dangerous. That is complete BS. It is not dangerous. A check on the web shows numerous articles saying it may not be preferable but it is ok to do, especially if you are matching the same tires on the front. Why would the Mini offer a spare tire if they provide 4 run flats? Anyway. This place is always trying to upsell you. Always trying to get you to buy things you don't need. Go elsewhere. read more

Bait and switch... .I called the Everett store to get a quote on 4 tires for a Honda CRV. The price was $576. Once I arrived at the store I was told that the tires I wanted were not in stock. The new price for in stock no name tires was almost $800. Town Fair Tire can keep their tires. Went to Costco down the street and bought brand name tires at a fair price no B.S. A couple years ago I went to a Town Fair Tire store in New Hampshire, it took them about 4 hours to put my new tires on, but the associate apologized and wrote out a free alignment and tire rotation for the trouble. (I probably wouldn't have given that particular store a 5 star rating). Fast forward two years though, and I found myself needing an alignment done, and was having trouble finding a place to do it. Remembering that Town Fair Tire had promised an alignment at any location, I took it to the Everett store, where they did not give me any trouble. They honored the word of the associate from a store out of state, and they quickly finished my alignment in about an hour. I got to the store pretty early, which was probably a good thing because they got pretty busy while I was there, but it seemed like they treated all of their customers well and had a sense of urgency about it. I really appreciate that in a shop. The next time I need to have an alignment and/or rotation done, I'll try my best to come back to this store to thank them for their integrity and quality service. I would recommend it to others as well, but I would recommend getting there as early as possible. If you can't get there within an hour of when the store opens, I would probably plan on either going on a day where you don't mind waiting for a while or arrange to leave the car there for a while, while you do other things. read more

Very disappointed with the service. I purchased a set of tires for my MINI last year at the Woburn location, so when I had a puncture through the sidewall this year I called Everett (closer to my home) to replace it. I spoke with Garrett, who called Woburn to have them fax the tire specs. We discussed repairing vs. replacing the tire and made an appointment for Monday 11:30 am - Garrett said that he'd order the tire. I called Monday to confirm that the tire was in - the person answering the phone said that half the office including Garrett was out at a two day seminar and that he didn't know the status. He said they were extremely busy due to short staffing, so I offered to check back later in the week. I just got off the phone with Garrett - the tire was not ordered and not in stock, he had to call Woburn again for the specs, and rather than apologizing for the error he offered to reorder the tire and said that he'd been out. When I told him that I would prefer to deal with Woburn as they seemed more reliable, he told me that they also didn't have the tire in stock. Still no apology. Pro tip: if a customer is disappointed, say you're sorry. Also, invest in a computer system to track customer orders and information across stores AND USE IT. UPDATE: the VP of regional sales emailed me an apology and sent me a check for my inconvenience. Very nicely handled at the corporate level - just wish it hadn't been necessary. read more

Staff here is just terrible. Had to special order the tire no big deal but asked at the time if I should set an appointment to have it fixed and was told no. Came in on the day it was in and ready and was asked do you have an appointment, no I was told I didn't need one. This was a minimal amount of extra work as I had coverage through allstate on the tire, so they had to call get authorization and submit an invoice. They called on speakerphone which I was there for and allstate asked for 2 things on the invoice, claim number and the vin. They told me they'd take care of it and I'd have to leave it before closing. So I take an uber home and an uber back 3 hours later and they still hadn't cleared payment but after waiting an hour decided they'd fix the tire anyway and try and get me to pay out of pocket. Thankfully I called allstate and got them the copy of the invoice with both pieces of info I heard them request and they got payment. Had an appointment for 8:30am on a sat. Was told could take all day to install 2 tires. Ended up walking home and not having a car all day on a sat. What's the point of an appointment if you just tell people it will take all day? You should tell people you can drop the car off at 8:30 and it will be done that day. There's text proof of the word appointment. Also $175/tire for a tiny economy car 50k tire seems very overpriced. I won't be back and won't recommend this place to anyone. Called yesterday looking for two specific tires. They had the best price so I made an appointment for 11am today. I have been burned with tire stores in the past that my expectations were very low. I got there at 10:50am and it took 1 hour! I was shocked. The two reasons that they do not get 5 stars: 1. On the phone they quoted me a price of 276.00 for everything. Do not mistake free front wheel alignment with 4 wheel alignment. When I got there, they apologized for the miscommunication on the phone and said that 4 wheel alignment was an extra 49.00. 2. A little while after leaving the store, the low pressure light came on my dash board. This unfortunately means that they did not go the extra like to make sure that all tires were at the right pressure. read more

Not getting a good feeling about this place. Granted, it's a Saturday, so even though I have an appointment I've already been here an hour and a half for a quick tire repair. The issue is that I feel like the guy working with me has no clue what's going on. He had to go out to look at my car twice because he kept forgetting the specs, and asked me at least 3 times each what my name was and the make, year and color of my car. Nice guy, he's just not making me feel so good about what's going to happen to my car. At the end, I was there 2 hours which isn't horrible, but when I asked for a copy of the report after they determined what was wrong with the tire, he said I don't get one. 2 hour wait to install one tire!! I was sitting in the waiting area and no one ever called my name to say my vehicle was ready, until I went up to the counter and said I see my car out front, is it ready?" Furthermore when I bought the tires here several months ago, I was sold the hazard protection on each tire. I was never told that I would be charged a prorated charge for a replacement tire. NEVER AGAIN!! I'll go to the Hyundai dealership from now on. They also left that paper mat on the driver seat that says "we kept your car clean" or something like that. This is why I always purchase my tires at Town Fair. I had a tire slow leak and brought my car in for a repair to the Everett MA location. The next morning my repaired tire was again flat. I called and they took me right in. After about 30 minutes, the manager came over to introduce himself and did the following: apologized for my inconvenience, explained what happened with the original repair (made total sense), told me that the damage was not repairable because of its location and said that they happen to have that tire and size in stock and would put it on my car for no charge. 12/4: Outside with the tire off checking on the issue that I have. I get a phone call and its Town Fair. Not going to lie, I was not expecting that. I get a lot of calls from similar numbers because I help a business nearby Everett. Its the manager, and while they believe they are not at fault, they are looking to rectify the situation. Even before they explained the terms I can appreciate that kind of understanding and humility. You got blasted yet you still have a humble approach to try to make a client happy. -5 stars becomes 1 and lets hear what you got to say. The situation is discussed and there is a plan set in place to make me feel valued especially as a first time customer. Okay, its not perfect, and I would have liked to discuss this before I walked out the door of the store, however effort is put forth, 2 stars. 12/6: I act on the plan and its time for me to do my part which I do. 12/7: I go into the store and talk to the manager to close the terms. Overall it looks like both parties get what they want so 3 stars each way. The 4th will come hopefully within the next two weeks but I'll go on a leap of faith and provide it ahead of time. I bought 4 brand new tires in June of 2021, left the car there for 3 hours. When I went to pick it up I noticed the rim was bent on one of the tires. When I went back in to question it, the manager came out and was yelling at me saying it wasn't their fault. When he went back in to talk to the tech. he found out the tech took a sledge hammer to the tire to get the hub cap off. All the while the store manager was yelling at me, the customer, they took it back in and semi fixed it. A few days later I found another tire had the same problem. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Do not go there, they are terrible. read more

It was my first time getting new tires for my car, and I was pretty sure I was gonna get ripped off if I went to the wrong place. I saw a commercial for Town Fair Tire on tv and came in because of all the free stuff they gave away with their tires (free flat repair, free rotations, free front end alignment with 2 tire purchase) and the fact that they'll beat any advertised price for up to 90 days after you buy your tires. As the rating undoubtedly shows, I was really satisfied with the whole experience. My salesman knew what he was doing and was knowledgeable. He did try to push for a bigger commission by trying to get me to buy 4-wheel alignment and better tires than I really needed, but he wasn't insistent to the point of annoyance. He was just doing his job, I'm sure. The service was quick and faster than they quoted (they said the whole thing would take about 90 minutes - it wound up being closer to 60), which was always great. I had a whole bunch of random questions about tires too (like how much tread do tires start with?), and my salesman answered them all patiently. Two quick things about their tire policies - the road hazard replacement program is only valid for 90 days; if you want lifetime protection, it's an extra ~$12 per tire. And you are required to show that you've rotated your tires at least every 6000 miles in order to qualify for the good tire warranty (usually twice the mileage of the warranty that comes "without care"). If you're gonna go, talk to Rome or Pete the manager. They both seem like really nice people. read more

Just reading some reviews of the place. It's insane that some people would drive over potholes and blame the damage on the shop and tire itself! Anyways, I've gotten tires for two different cars here. Both times a painless process. I went online, checked out what tire I wanted, made an appointment, then show up on that day. They check the make, model, and mileage of my car, go over extra/necessary options (if you live in a land with potholes get Road Coverage warranty!!), and then I sit in the waiting area for an hour or two. Staff is nice enough. I've never seen them rude to customers, but I have seen them bend over backwards and shuffle difficult customers ahead in the queue infront of us patient customers who've been sitting there for an hour. read more

I went here the other day to get new tires put in and to have them rotated. My husband already ordered the tires online, but for some odd reason it didn't show up on the computer system. The guy I dealt it was pretty patient with me because I wasn't sure what I needed for my car and I had to keep calling my husband to get everything right. My car is pretty old(a '99) so it took a while for them to put them in because of all the corrosion. It's located near a little plaza, so I went to get some food at Subway's while I waited. I witnessed another Town Fair Tire rep suggesting to another customer a cheaper way to get her tire patched up. I was pretty impressed that he didn't try to up sell her and that he was pretty upfront about what was going on. Overall, the wait was kind of long, but I guess with my car I wasn't too surprised that I would be waiting a while. They were pretty The good thing there are places nearby to eat. read more

You can go in and set up your order and come back when it's nearing your turn, so the waiting time is much less. They even told me a sensor the stealership told me was bad was actually just fine. My experience there this week was more than pleasant. i thank Romundo for making what is usually a frustrating, tedious errand a surprisingly.......nice one! Costco was too busy to take care of replacing the 4 tires I needed so down the road i went to Town Fair. I was greeted immediately by a cordial staff, attended to right away and found i needed another appt. to complete the job--I had had a flat and was missing the rim of that 4th tire. Very easy to schedule the appt, got right in and out, all handled efficiently by my new pal, Romundo. He was as courteous and sensitive to my time constraints as I could ask for. I was here two weeks ago to get a front end alignment and 3 new tires. I only got 2 and the alignment . I got a phone call last night saying my new tire and wheel is still at the shop . Why wasn't it put on the day I got everything else done ? My tire and new wheel were brought in 3 days before I had my service done . I go down today I get my new tire and wheel put in my trunk it's supposed to be mounted on not as a spare? So I go back in and explain then they tell me they're booked. I'm a strong believer in small businesses, the way of the box store has destroyed that small town America feel in my opinion and with that it's impossible for me to give a place 5 stars like this. Please keep that in mind, with my somewhat biased 4 star rating. I right off the bat let them know that my BMW was being traded in, in the next year and asked them if they knew or not If I could just buy 2 new tires for the front rather than all 4. They indicated they were not sure and should check with the dealer, rather than just spurting off an emphatic no. I appreciate honesty, in this world of upsell that we live in, it's nice to not force 4 tires down someone's throat who clearly doesn't give a shit about the car that much. I actually explained that I took my vehicle to my mechanic for most things but even my mechanic said that I was better for at Town Fair Tire or NTB and the fact that they throw in the alignments and balancing, it's just better to go there. This makes me sad to be honest (see prefaced thought) Neighborhood mechanics use to be the go to place for tires and oil changes, now there just another box store victim kid. So I explained to the young kid writing up my work order and who I believe to be the manager (Dennis) also at the counter with the the young man, that I had been here before and honestly wasn't going to come back because I was quoted an hour and a half and it ended up being 4 hours plus. Dennis asked when this was and I couldn't peg the actual year, all I know is that I had an 04 xterra so i assume it was 09' or 2010, he nodded and said it was before his time, but regardless I wanted them to know that I was reluctantly back. Prior to me arriving, I had already been in there, made an appt for replacing the 2 tires with exactly what the BMW came with, so after that phone call to BMW and being told all 4 needed to match or there would be a charge, Dennis found me less expensive tires, (run flats) by the way, and replaced all 4 for $790 when prior to this I was going to pay about $680 for the two BMW would've wanted on there. In theory, he saved me money, I know it doesn't sound it, but Im okay with math, and 4 Continentals would've been $1,360 by my math. This is where it gets kinda awesome. I ended up having someone follow me over and dropped my vehicle off at 11 am instead of my 2 pm apt (they quoted me 2 hours) which I would've waited for. Rather than go back to work, I mean who really wants to do that when Floramo's is around the corner, I decided to go eat lunch at 11:20 a.m. this tells you that I am a hundred years old. To my surprise, while I am eating, I get a text at 11:47 am stating they had started my vehicle and then at 11:58 I get a text stating they are done, which is great because I am also done with my steak tips (lunch size) I wasn't really that hungry. I make my way back around 12:10 and I am told that the system inadvertently states (Your Vehicle Is Ready) when they go to put it on the alignment machine. So it would be another 15 minutes, I'm not mad, just pointing out it's a small flaw in their system. Regardless it was literally 6 minutes later and my car was ready. Everything done the way they promised, my read end needed a small alignment that isn't part of the package, and to the that said no thank you. Suck it BMW and your terrible run flat tires. I think I am truly done with BMW's this my 6th or 7th and that drives my batshit crazy every time I own one. So all in all I am very happy with Town Fair Tire, so much so I am brining my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4X4 there next week to get some big fat tires to compensate for something...... ;) Not gonna lie, I'll probably go to the 603 location, it's on the way to the lake and my own little protest against no tax holiday in Massachusetts. Suck it lawmakers, you take a 40% increase iin pay and then take away this from the people?!?! Shame... Shame.... Shame... keep voting in those Democrats you bleeding heart fools. I got the rims replaced in my car a couple of days ago to stop a vibration that was coming from bad rims. They were installed and I immediately heard a grinding noise before the 25 mile check. We told them at the 25 mile check and they said nothing was wrong. We took the car to the dealership and they said the calipers had ceased on the rear brakes, coincidentally when one day after the rims. I'm not sure when happened here, but we had to get the brakes fixed. I just saw at least one other person whose brakes were also ruined. We were also asked to get the ring centering hub that should've been put on when they replaced the rims. For whatever reason the manager Dennis was super unprofessional, aggressive, and disrespectful to me when we went to pick up the ring. My husband asked for the ring and everything went left with him questioning me angrily like I was on the stand. I don't get it. I didn't even open my mouth to say anything to him until he started disrespecting me. He is absolutely disgusting. I've been trying to figure out why he treated me like this when I didn't even say a word to him. He wreaks of defensiveness. I will never do business here and will be calling corporate. If you like paying hundreds of dollars one day and then having someone raise their voice at you, talk down to you, raise their hand in your face and tell you to be quiet and exit the store three days later, go here. Otherwise, avoid. They're not the only business in town. My husband went in for the 500 mile check and was told they have no record of us making the purchase. Dennis deleted the record from their system. This is crookedness like I've never seen. read more

Town Fair Tire 03/19/2012 John at The Plymouth Ma 02360 store is an exceptional sales person. My price with mounting and balancing was $30 cheaper than BJs Wholesale club pricing "with" tax!
