Who knew a car to AAA for a jump and a tow would end up being on of the worst customer service experience and on of the most terrifying experiences of my life?!? If they try to send this company out, immediately ask for another tow company for your safety. Note: Towman Towing is an AAA vendor. Not actual AAA. Sam at Towman Towing came out to our old home, to tow the car to our new home about 40 miles away. Sam arrived immediately with a bad attitude. Our Benz has air suspension, as in if sits for a little while the car gets lower - but it will raise right up once the car turns on. The car had not been driven since spring 2019, as we were debating fixing it. Sam immediately said he'd passes on the job within 3 minutes of arrival. We asked "if he can't jump or tow a car, what can he do?" Really? He hopped back in his truck and drove off. Note: The prior AAA tow representative had pushed the car partially into the street. The driveway has a slope. The front of the car bottomed out. I called AAA to inquire with them. The representative listened and informed me he thinks I need to file a complaint. So I did. Then I cancelled the service call. Less than five minutes off the phone with actual AAA, Sam angrily pulled up, stopping in the middle of the road with his headlights pointed to us. He hopped out with his phone in his hand. Almost as if he arrived to fight. I kindly informed him his services were no longer needed, as we had cancelled the call. He proceeded to state AAA asked him to come back out and photo our vehicle AND AAA will be cancelling my membership. I informed him that's not true. We did nothing to him. Plus I'm a 12 year former AAA employee who left the company on good standing for a career opportunity. I'm a 15 year AAA member who has used their services less than 3 times, and never on a tow. Boy was I let down. Sam proceed to try to take pictures, with us letting him he needs to leave and that he is on private property. Sam starting shouting at the top of his lungs, confronting me in my face. Then he starting shouting at my fiancé. Making a huge scene in a quiet HOA neighborhood. On a scale from 1-10, he was at a 10. I called 911, the dispatcher heard and recorded everything. My boyfriend recorded the event on his cell phone. Sam was out of control, to the point we were not only verbally attacked... he looked like he was going to physically attack us. He have it recorded. The neighbors have cameras. 911 has the recording. Plus you informed us you have a dash cam - your boss needs to view your actions. Sam you should be ashamed of yourself. I'm addition to acting a fool, he was also yelling lies on the phone to his company. This guy was straight out dangerous and a menace to society. He caused a scene for at least 10 long minutes. He was completely out of line and out of control. He was stepping up and shouting 3 inches away from our faces. Not once did we raise our voices. It was all Sam. He finally left when I confirmed the police were on their way. My heart was beating hard, I was sick to my stomach from this insane guy who had a chip on his shoulder. Was he going to get fired after one more complaint?? Did he not want to drive 40 miles out?? I don't know what was wrong with this man, but he had serious mental issues. Like a person with road rage. We didn't nothing to cause him to act this way. I have filed numerous complaints with AAA. I'm contacting the AAA VPs of membership and ERS. This was a serious issue. The man verbally and physically threatened us. If you're wondering about the Benz. We called a non AAA tow truck company. They arrived in 15 minutes, jumped the car, the car's air suspension lifted right up, had the car connected to the tow truck within 20 minutes and we were on our way. I have yet to contact Towman Towing because I suspect if their employee acted this way, the entire company from the top down is a bad seed. However, I have contacted AAA - where it matters the most. This event will indeed cause an issue with their AAA contract. This company is awful and needs to be removed from AAA's tow service contract. Their worker Sam needs to be let go for a serious customer service violation. This company is lucky if I put them on blast with the news channels and Youtube. Update: AAA has recommend that the tow company let this driver go or they'll loose their contract with AAA. read more

Got to work early and thought I'd stop by the local Starbucks and do my make-up and get coffee. Turned the car off and had the radio on for about 20 minutes while I was contouring and putting on eye-liner. I went to push the button to roll the window down and noticed it was going at a slow rate and when I was done and ready to go, I rolled my window up and noticed the same thing and then it happened...my car wouldn't start. I immediately called triple A at 7:50 a.m. and told the operator I needed someone to jump my battery. She asked how the battery died and I told her my dumb ass was doing my make-up with the radio on and she said, "Yup, I've done the same thing and was early for a party and was doing my make-up and then the car battery died." #WomanProblems She said the tow company would be there guaranteed in twenty minutes but Towman Towing arrived in about 8 minutes. Edgar of Towman Towing was polite, quick and knowledgeable. He offered to do a battery test first but said if I needed to get going he could just jump the battery instead. I figured I was already late to work so what's another 4 minutes. The results were no bueno and Edgar explained them to me and noticed my battery was from Autozone and bought in April of 2014 (I got the car at the end of May 2014 from a private seller) and still under warranty! So good news is I possibly get a new battery (if I remember the old owners phone number) and I wouldn't have known that had Edgar not pointed that out to me! He also knew about my awesome car since he owned a Miata way back in the day which came in handy when I was looking for the battery and then he remembered it was in the trunk. Also, he noticed my lights were on when he turned the car back on which is probably the real reason the battery died. Edgar's a real American hero! read more

Dangerous driver! At 5:50 pm on July 14, there was a stalled car on the Brookhurst northbound offramp. The Towman Towing driver assess the situation, hopped into his towtruck and began driving forward, not even stopping for the ongoing traffic, almost hitting the car beside him. No hesitation! His position wasn't good enough to tow the stalled car, so he thrusts forward again, narrowing missing the car coming off the offramp. Again, no hesitation or caution. I witnessed this from 5 cars back, and when I approached the towtruck, I made extra sure to swerve around him, as he does not seem to care who is in front of him, as long as he gets his tow done. I'm glad the Towman Towing is there for the stranded driver, but I feel the driver is dangerous to the community!! read more

On my way to orange county from the inland Empire got stuck with a flat in the rain. I called my AAA and they sent out Frank from towman towing. Not only was he quick and very helpful, he was friendly and made my anxiety disappear. He also referred me to a local business to help me with this problem in the future. Attention owners and management! your roadside assistance employee Frank is amazing! Coming from a Nordstrom background we are known for our customer service he offered me that as well as just general reassurance because I was having anxiety. My car had a leaking tire. I was tired and grumpy, this could not have come at a worse time but RICO came out to help me and completely turned my mood around. He was super quick, super friendly, and despite my obvious mood he joked and smiled and genuinely made me feel better. Plus he fixed my tire in no time and I was on my way. I have been with AAA for years with nothing but good experience with them: I had battery issued last Friday and Mr. RICO came to change the battery because that was my intention to come and change the battery but all of a sudden he told me that the battery was good is just the connections that the last person that changed the battery dis not connect the wires that is why my car keeps turning off. He connected the wires without charging me anything . I have to say it takes very honest man to do such a thing because he should have just changed the battery just to make money from me that day. Thank you Towman towing for sending the best man in the world to help me out!! No Really!! His name is Gabriel Lima. I am a member of AAA for over 22 years and Gabriel just made it happen. I sat there in Buena Park for over 3 and a half hours on the corner of Orangethorpe and Magnolia. The van just quite on the 5 fwy. And in a dangerous spot. 3 minutes later a nice CHP stop by and push me off the fwy with his car and into a safe parking spot. So things are great up to that point. AAA send a tow truck over 10min later..from Hadley towing .....cool.. But then the tow driver said his truck cant tow it due to my van might to to heavy. I told him I had this van put on a flat bed truck many times. Just get one... Well, 30 minutes later another guy from Hadley tow came, he was nice but his boss said we cant and wont... I said to him Look just get me a flat bed truck this has been carried on flat bed truck many times. His boss just didnt want to help me. I cant just leave it there it was not a good area in fact I even watch a drug deal went down in that 3 and a half hours.... so I was not about to leave my van....I sat there for the next 3 hours contacting AAA over and over. Well I was there I watch that same tow truck company Hadley pass by me over and over with regular tow trucks and flat beds trucks. Not even a care , it was lke being on a raft in the middle of the ocean and watch the same boats and plains go by and just will not help....WOW! But after 3 hours.... alone came Gabriel Lima he was so helpful he push my heavy van out of the parking stall and just did what ever it took. He loaded my van onto the flat bed truck and off we went to my mechanic shop in Huntington Beach. From his call he arrived in 8 minutes and had my van on his truck in 10 minutes includes pushing it. I waited 2 hours and 20 minutes after my initial call. The people, who I assume are the owners were pretty short with me on the phone. the husband seemed impatient when I called after waiting for an hour. After waiting for 2 hours, I called to cancel and he assured me the driver would be there in five minutes. Which ended up being another 15-20 minutes. I was not happy with them at that point. Now the driver, Frank. Wow. He could not be more helpful or hardworking. He pushed my car from the second level of the parking garage to outside the structure. He followed me to the Mechanic just in case my car broke down. Explained to me that my battery terminal was loose and would be an easy fix for my husband (who was our of town this week). In summary: 0 stars for the owner/husband 5 stars for Frank. He really saved their business for me. read more
