On April 14th 2026 AB recovery initiated illegal tow was asked to stop in the continued. The driver did advise me that they were recording the whole process. AB recovery also lied and told Kia finance that they use a flatbed. It has been documented with Kia finance that ab recovery lied. I have filed a complain with consumer affairs. I also found out that their license is in question. I also found out from a lawyer that some of their driver's license to tow are in question. A b recovery lifted the vehicle off the ground while someone was still sitting in the vehicle and they use force. I have reported this company to the better Business bureau and like I said consumer affairs. I even reported the company that appointed them to repo my vehicle which is loss prevention Services. Loss prevention Services post repo team has lied and has not transmitted documents over to a b recovery. That's the only thing that I can say ab recovery did not lie about and that's ..they have not received the proper documents to allow me access to my vehicle. Other than that I'm taking a b recovery to small claims court for a value of 12,500 and I will win. AB recovery needs to be careful and needs to properly train their drivers on how to handle situations. If the vehicle is occupied by a passenger or a driver here in the state of California it is illegal to pick up a car while someone is sitting inside of it. That is called a breach of peace and number two you need to train your driver's not to use Force. The passenger inside of the vehicle at the time when a b recovery repold my vehicle has sustained neck injuries. Kia finance has documented everything. I also contacted loss prevention Services and A/b recovery while on a three-way call with Kia finance so that they can get it documented on their end at Kia finance that AB recovery and loss prevention Services lied about picking up my vehicle by a flatbed. I have a smart car it is a Kia K4 and I have received reports from the vehicle that front damage to sensors and tire system has been messed with or disconnected. On April 2nd 2026 I took my car in for a full maintenance check and came out with all green check marks now I have a warning message from my vehicle saying that the tire system and sensors in the front of the vehicle needs attention. I have contacted the CEO of loss prevention Services I have also contacted the COO of loss prevention Services and now I'm on my way to contact the CEO of av recovery. I'm doing this so that I can share the necessary demand letter. I have all my ducks in a row and I have filed a complaint from Kia finance all the way to loss prevention Services headquarters in Michigan and the location in Mississippi all the way over to Anaheim California. I don't know who you guys think you playing with but I'm not a toy and you broke the law. I am not playing with you I understand my issue with Kia finance but you should have conducted that repossession in a better way than what you did. In the name of Jesus Christ you guys are going to pay. And if you even think about trying to tamper with my car or sell it it is going to be a great big problem. read more

THIS IS FOR THE SANTA ANA LOCATION... Place is kinda shady. Being appointment only is one thing, but they didn't have an appointment until 6 days after they took the vehicle. Kinda odd... Not only that, upon arrival I didn't bring the key as they were able to open the vehicle once they impounded it. However, one of the employees told tried to blatantly lie to my face saying "well, we can't get in the vehicle to open the trunk without the key, so unfortunately we're not gonna be able to help you today". Then proceeded to tell me "we just hooked the vehicle and left. We never gained access to the inside". I then called out said employee stating "that's a blatant lie and you're not about to lie to my face. I have you guys clear as day gaining access to the inside of the vehicle before you towed it away" The employee then had me wait before coming back to give me my ID and my belongings. I know this is such a horrible situation to be in when life throws you curve balls but in reality this is also there job and we can't really be upset. Ok first of all they don't answer the phone, you literally have to call 10 times and then Andres will answer super not only unprofessional but disrespectful. Second, this address is wrong. Their address is 100 S Hathaway St Santa Ana, CA 92701. I'm not entirely sure but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to display false information pertaining to address online, especially when this is an impound place where people have vehicles that contain valuable and personal items. Definitely need to contact the better business bureau about this just to make sure. Anyways, Andres is rude. Super rude and unprofessional like to the point where you feel as though you should contact police. Mind you, he's just an employee, not even the owner so it just doesn't make sense to make another man's business look so horrible. Also, they charge $100 to get your things out of your car and "only accept cash payment" and don't provide receipts. Again, illegal. Every employee gave me a different dollar amount. They tried to say they held my vehicle for 12 days and it was only 4, they had full intent to charge me for 12 until I came with picture receipts of everything. Mind you, they try to tell you that you can only come by appointment and the appointments are a week out but then charge you by the day? But if you pull up to the location they are not busy they are sitting around chopping it up, cracking jokes, & eating hot Cheetos. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because of Ryan. He's nice and helpful. The fact that he's so young and mature enough to represent the business in that manner despite the circumstances is great. He is going to get far in life, I know it. You would think he has a business or communications degree. I get that they conduct business in unfortunate circumstances for people but that's even more so a reason to treat people with kindness and respect. We had to wait to get our stuff from the vehicle but they were very easy to work with and made sure we had everything out of the vehicle. I've called 10 times over 4 hours on thursday October 9 and only got through twice. When I called to schedule a pick up they wanted $375 despite my car having only been there 1 night. When called out on the pice difference I was put on hold for 10 minutes and was told that the new price would be $225 but my car could not be picked up until Monday October 13 at 10 am. Or I could pay $400 and pick it up same day. Also it is impossible to find an adress. When the repo truck came to load the car he hit a car next to mine and knocked a panel of the bottom of my car. read more

To start off with rear wheel car towed by rear wheels instead of flatbed. Guy towing did not have a BSIS license. They came in a personal old pick up truck with no business identifiers. On Tuesday was told only appointment was Friday at 2 unless I pay the after hours fee off $200 cash fee. Called and said I'd pay the fee, all of a sudden ok after hours appointment was set same day at 3:15pm. Their business hours are 9-4. I showed up at 12:45 to wait. At 2pm 5 guys came in with drinks all coming out of my car which was not on a tow truck but was being driven. I have proof from Crevier as they ran a key reader on my car and it tells you the date and miles the lights came on at since two lights came on pedestrian warning a frontal collision lights, this was done while in their possession. They try and force you to sign first before seeing your car. They left food crumbs on my back seat. One guy I asked said it is typical for them to drive cars around. I have the voice recorder of him saying that. Here are two guys that got out of my car. As you can tell from the picture I have the rest of the video. From 1pm-2pm they had zero customers. They push you out days because they are"busy" but it's a scam to get the $200 same day during business hours. They never even did inventory on my vehicle. I tried going back to talk to the young man so they could pay my dealer deductible to get those lights they caused fixed but he blew me off. It's actually the guy in the picture that got out of my car. Now I'll have to go to court, take time off and bring up all this with my lawyer to a judge. read more

Closed on weekends, never answer the phone, and straight up extortion level business practices. They are "appointment only", unless you pay $100s of dollars, then they can magically make it available for pickup same day after you've already paid all the fees. First we had to change a tired and second his car doesn't accelarate, it doesn't reverse and the check engine light with transmission signal turned on right after we left the place. I'm leaving this review based on the company's response to other people's review as well as my interactions with them. The responses blame the people for not paying their bill, which I get but life is hard sometimes, losing the vehicle is hard enough the least they can do is meet their customers with some compassion and understanding. Our car was repoed not because we couldn't pay, the bank wouldn't let us pay, it belonged to my late mother-in-law and despite providing the death certificate and will, the bank wouldn't give us any information about paying the bill or switching it to our name, since we weren't the account holders, but the account holder is dead. A year of back and forth with the bank and the car is repoed. We understand and we're not disputing the repo, but we would like to retrieve our personal items. We tried using the online booking system to make an appointment like instructed and it doesn't work, it just says no available appointments and that's it, I can't pick another day or anything. read more

Let me preface this review with the fact that these guys are in a industry that naturally will attract negative reviews because the nature of the repossession business. So it is necessary to take any negative reviews with a grain of salt as there will be a natural bias against a business such as this. As a business owner myself I understand the impact of a review and how it could negatively or positively affect one's business. Repossession is inherently a challenging and often emotional process. Losing a vehicle--often a critical lifeline--can be angering and demoralizing, but ultimately, the responsibility falls on the owner. Sometimes you just have to say "welp they got me" and handle your business. Take it from me as I had my vehicle repossessed on my birthday . Some jobs are tough and unpopular, but they still need to be done, and repossession is one of them. This company is absolutely horrible. First my car was repossessed on a Friday around 2pm-3pm. They're closed on the weekends and they close up for the day at 3pm so there was no way for me to get my things. My aunt and I called back to back and left messages, no reply. It took me 3 WEEKS to get ahold of someone. Once I got ahold of someone I was told it was appointment based and I'd have to wait a week unless I wanted to pay $100 to expedite my appointment. How am I going to expedite an appointment if you're saying the soonest possible date I can come is a week from the date I called? Okay. So I wait until my appointment date, and when I get there, there was a younger Hispanic man and he was very friendly. He took my information, went to the back, and came back to tell me that I did not have an appointment. He stated "sometimes he forgets to put it in the system" but I showed him the call log and he said he would handle it. I was with my aunt who was on the phone speaking to a friend about what was happening and how she felt they were giving me the run around when another employee walked over and asked her "what the problem is" she explained "you guys are saying she does not have an appointment and I'm just confused as to why she would need an appointment to get her things anyways" he proceeded to get hostile and tell us a bunch of information nobody asked for like the fact that they "repo 80 cars a week" and he's "tired of everyone thinking they're the bad guys" in which my aunt told him that all was irrelevant in regards to my appointment that I set. He belligerently cut her off multiple times and stopped to ask "are you two the ones who posted that review about us". We both looked at each other in confusion and said we didn't know what he was even talking about. My aunt simply stated "we didn't make a review about you but good customer service stops you from getting bad reviews" and that must have set him off because he began telling us that "if we kept on that we would have to come back next week and he didn't HAVE to help us". Mind you, the younger man already stated he would help me during our conversation because he saw that I did in fact make contact with them a week prior. On top of that, I hadn't spoken to this man other than saying I had not made a review. I was already triggered by the way he was in my aunt's space yelling at her like he'd lost his damn mind. He kept saying that he was ready to argue which was wild because he came over to my aunt who is not even the owner of the car to start something. I was not going to wait another week because he decided to insert himself into a conversation my aunt was having over the phone. The entire experience was a shit show. The only reason I could even give one star in good faith is because of the young Hispanic man who remained polite and professional the entire time.
