This whole time, I really thought this place was inside a cozy hotel about 2 blocks over. Guess you learn something new every day. We pulled up on a Thurs. around 4 with no res. and got seated real quick. Restaurant K. is airy, chic and gives a relaxed vibe. The menu is on the smaller side, but honestly, there's something for every eating style. We kept things light instead of diving into something heavy. Our spring greens salad was really good: hefty mound of mixed greens, lima beans, string beans and a hint of dill to make everything pop. Hubs had the double-stacked burger with white cheddar on a potato bun and loved it. I had high hopes for the hush puppies because they sounded amazing on paper- but they were doughy than corny and threw me off. Then came dessert. Again- sounded great on paper. It kinda feels like desserts get a "reinvented" treatment here(?). For instance, the strawberry shortcake was deconstructed: a few chunks of white cake, some diced strawberries and whipped cream. Totally unexpected. I ordered the 'Fun-Fetti Dunkaroos' with madeleines because they caught my eye, but they're smaller than standard. The food isn't bad at all. We were just caught off guard by how some of our selections were prepped. What really saved the evening were the cocktails. They were beautifully made and had a lot of strength. No watered-down nonsense here! Plus, our server Karina(?) was super sweet. I asked if I could try the passion fruit purée to see if it was the real deal for one of the cocktails I ordered and she brought me a little sample. Passed the test!

The decor is adorable--it feels like a hip, boho living room with beautiful plants and cozy hidden corners. The soft lighting and music created a wonderful ambiance that was enjoyed by the diverse mix of couples and families present. Loved that there were kids there :-) The service and food were equally excellent. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and our drinks arrived quickly. We particularly loved the broccoli cheddar fritters. My burger was delicious, especially the dipping sauce and fries, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the steak. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I look forward to returning soon. Don't forget to check out the merch!

I ordered the Bright Idea cocktail, and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second. My husband had the Warm in the Sun cocktail, which was also delicious. We started with hush puppies, which were more flavorful than your standard hush puppy. They came with a tartar sauce that wasn't typical - it was delicious. We also got the Alabama white wings. The white sauce was good but not my favorite, next time I'd try smoky buffalo or buffalo. The ranch dressing was amazing and herby! I wonder if they make it in-house. On to the entrees - I got the shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy and so good. The sauce was wonderfully flavorful. I would absolutely order this again, but next time I want to try their vegan fried chicken (fried oyster mushrooms)! My husband's burnt ends were really tasty. Honestly, I wanted to try everything on the menu. The service was fairly quick, despite them being busy. I look forward to returning!

A little quaint gem (a bit eclectic) that serves comfort foods in a friendly atmosphere…read more Their menu consists of various chicken sandwiches (fried, grilled or cauliflower), burgers, all day breakfast, soups and salads. We enjoyed the Figgy chicken sandwich (fig jam, plentiful greens, cheese and chicken, bun could have been better quality) with salad (pretty fresh), and the Caesar chicken sandwich with fries. The server (owner?) was very friendly and explained the menu, saying specifically that the chicken sandwiches are made to order. There were only two other occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon and the food took a little while to come out (not very bad but not super fast). It also seems like a place that should be crowded but wasn't. Coffee was self service. They also had a pumpkin pie in a plastic container (didn't look homemade) in the front. There's a little children's play area in the back. And the unisex bathroom was very large. It's located on a street with lots of shops and other eateries (pizza etc).

Our waitress was very nice, really chill, checked in once but if we had flagged her over I'm sure she would have been attentive more but we just didn't need anything. We ordered two different versions of their chicken sandwiches and they both were amazing! I ordered the club and substituted out for the Big Mac sauce, it was ridiculously delicious! The owner/chef I believe came over after our food was served which was really nice to check in and offered some future suggestions that we'll be sure to take her up on. The food was cooked to order, super fresh and a lot of details that made it a perfect bite! Cute place with a variety of seating options, the old brick work pops through in some places which adds a really nice historic charm to the place. We'll definitely be back to give a few more menu items a try!

We recently celebrated a birthday for my brotha-from-anotha-motha, Weez, and the experience was nothing short of legendary. The Starters We kicked things off with a duo of appetizers that set a high bar for the rest of the night: Beet and Burrata: Honestly, the flavors here were out of this world. The creaminess of the burrata paired with the earthy sweetness of the beets was a masterclass in balance. Tuna Tartare: Incredibly fresh and delicious. It's exactly what you want a tartare to be--clean, vibrant, and perfectly prepared. The Main Event The entrees arrived, and the table went silent (which is how you know the food is good). Shortribs: These were untouchable. They were incredibly moist, fell off the bone, and the plating was absolutely beautiful. The Schnitzel: This was the real deal. It was prepared with such heart that it would literally make my grandmother cry. Scallops: Perfectly cooked and served alongside a purple potato puree that was as visually stunning as it was tasty. Herb Butter Steak: A beautifully seasoned cut of meat that proved sometimes the classics, when done right, are unbeatable. The Grand Finale While everything was elite, the Pear and Raisin Bread Pudding was the undisputed star of the show. It's the kind of dessert you'll be thinking about for weeks. Do not leave without ordering this. The Vibe & Service The "dinner experience" here extends well beyond the plate. The mixologist is a true artist; the drinks aren't just beverages, they are a fundamental part of the meal's choreography. A massive thank you to Sergia for the outstanding service. Servers were attentive, deeply knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure Weez's birthday dinner was one for the books. Bottom line: If you want a meal that feels like a celebration, this is the place.

We booked dinner for my daughter's birthday and chose a Sunday specifically so we could try the fried chicken which is only served on Sundays. The restaurant is located in a house in a mostly residential area, with a large parking lot across the street. We had a reservation and were greeted and seated immediately in one of the booths with glass dividers on 3 sides - it felt almost like being inside a terrarium. The overall atmosphere is warm and cozy - leaning towards a modernized Victorian feel with lots of dark wood and dark furnishings. This would be a nice place to take a date if you're looking for an intimate atmosphere. Our party all ordered the fried chicken - which, really, we could have split one and just added some appetizers to feed all three of us. There is easily half a chicken on each plate. The chicken was super crispy, not greasy at all and still moist inside, truly excellent! Sadly the sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw were just average at best. The mashed potatoes in particular were disappointingly tasteless and slightly lumpy which cost the dish a star in our ratings. We opted just to share an apple tarte tatin for dessert and the staff dressed it up with a birthday candle for us. Service was unobtrusive to the point where we had to flag down a waiter for more water. Overall, a good but not amazing meal.
