We came here with a lot of kids 23+ and everything was fine with the GSE -Dez was her name and the 2 managers but then the General Manager Vick came in and made one of our kids cry and messed up every order and had a nasty attitude and was very disrespectful man or whatever he is it doesn't make sense to come in and mess these ladies job up and disrespect his employees and customers we spent over $600-$700! tonight and we was fine with the 3 ladies they need a raise and that man need to be FIRED!!!! I'm a visitor to this city from out of state. I read the menu before I walked over from the hotel and decided to try the John Wayne burger, which I cheerfully announced to one of three employees staring at their phones. I was informed the grill did not open for 15 minutes. I looked at the empty building and the six employees standing around and asked if they suddenly jumped into action at exactly 5pm and one of the bored three at the counter said "Yes." I shook my head wondering why they didn't offer to take my order and submit it for when it was time to begin. My 67 year old youngest brother was buying, but before they would let me take my card, I was informed I could not drink unless I showed my driver's license. I am 71 years old with a long white beard and a Vietnam Veteran with two tours and I thought this was perposterous and insulting in the absurdity of it all. I have a Federal Id and two state ID's, one of which is my license to carry a firearm, but I was informed if I did not show my driver's license, they would not sell me alcohol. As astounding as this was, I showed them what they desired, but I would not purchase the John Wayne if I was dying. After I consumed one of the fine beers they offer, I left with a decision to never return. YMMV read more

When you settle your tab, there is an opportunity to tip!? You grab your own glass, pour your own drinks, self serve your plastic ware, pickup your food at the window when you're pager dooflicky lights up, even the menu is a QR code to scan! Next they will be taking up a collection halfway through your evening to help pay the light bill, and hand you a broom and dish cloth to sweep and wipe down after yourself. Talk about entitlement! Top notch service with great food. Everything was hot and tasty. The wings were cooked to perfection and the catfish was the best.

Food is SOOOO good! I love the Daisy Duke chicken sandwich - it's my go to! Their tots with the comeback sauce are to die for! I also like the Hangover burger! Anything with a fried egg is ok by me. The selection of self-pour beers on tap is stellar! What a great atmosphere! read more

We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite while traveling through the area and found this on a quick Google search. It's a great little place with a very laid back atmosphere. It was not too loud and there were a couple families in there as well as some younger folks. They have those automated taps and give you a little card to keep track of your beer and wine purchases which you just turn in when you depart. The food was excellent, with our whole group enjoying their burgers and sandwiches. I tried the lemon pepper hot wings and I was not disappointed, I am normally not a big fan of citrus rubs, but the rub on the wings is delicious and not overpowering, although I think it could have used a bit more in the heat department. The skinny on TTR: it has been open for a few weeks now and obviously they are having growing pains as every new restaurant does. Coming here twice and the same experience here you go: Cons: 1) If you can't pour a beer from a tap, you will pay a lot of money for foam 2) After 32oz of beer (tracked off your beer card) you have to check in with the counter so they can verify that you are not overly intoxicated and they will reset your limit on your card. 3) You pay by the oz, no free samples unless its water 4) Eat before you come, food is less than mediocre and pricey 5) If you are a wino, keep moving! One of our favorite spots for quick, delicious eats and a great beer selection. I wish they were open on a Sundays.

New place in town so my review is an observation based on new business. Fantastic concept and friendly staff... unfortunately the place needs more places to sit! We stood and waited and decided to eat some where else. Never got a chance to try the food... however the menu looked great! Give the place a try... Friday at 6:30 might not be the best time.... we had one beer each and it was perfect! Excited for something like this to be in Montgomery! I'll try again once it's been around a while! This place is basically an endless flight of beer. 50+ taps. You get a card that you put in a slot...then like magic you get to pour whatever beer you'd like and however much you'd like. If you're wanting to try a bunch of different beers, don't make the mistake I did and pour a pint the first time out of the gate. I loved every beer I tried. In town for a business trip. My husband wanted to eat here. I have to eat and drink gluten free which nowadays most places have options. Well not this place they didn't even know what I was talking about, not even the manager. The manager brushed the question off as if it was irrelevant. Absolutely a great experience. The GM was super friendly and so helpful as a local guide. The food....my goodness that was a good burger, I had the John Wayne no onions (those are the devil). This was recommended as "the place to go." So we tried it. The food was good and comparable to similar places (BJ's, etc). The drink cards are better than wrist bands we've had at other places, so that is a plus - however it enables groups to have some members abstain and others drink on their card allocation. Their food menu isn't extensive but you're bound to find something for your pickiest of friends. I ordered the John Wayne burger with tater tots. Very flavorful and not some overloaded monstrosity. Pair it with something off the wall of beers and you have yourself a great meal to enjoy while by yourself or in a company of friends. The staff is super helpful and took time to explain the beer self serve process and demonstrated how it worked. Not into beer? That's ok, they have a small selection of wines and ciders that work off the same self serve principle. I'm really surprised more people haven't reviewed this place. Food is priced accordingly--not too high but not Applebee's prices. It's a very clean atmosphere. If you're in Montgomery and looking for a place to gather with a few friends and a drink, then head over to the Tower Taproom--you won't be disappointed. read more
