It was a very pleasant experience getting my first eye exam at Vision Center. Dr. A. Goldstone was very pleasant and easy to talk to. Miguel gave me a lesson on eyewear that was very informative. There were so many glasses to choose from that it took a while to make a decision. Jackie, the office assisstant, made sure that every aspect of my visit was completed as soon it could be. Fantastic experience at this office. All of the staff were super friendly and very helpful. I got exactly what I wanted; in fact, I got even more than I thought I would. Super pleased with the service I received, both of the Doctors I saw were very attentive and listened to my concerns and were able to recommend products that worked excellent for me. I was even told that if I wasn't happy with the contacts and/or glasses that I purchased that they would help me find something that worked. Very helpful while I picked out my glasses and navigated my insurance... just a really great experience. I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews, though the one thing they seem to all have in common is that they are simply reviewing the wait time. Whatever. Yep, it's a busy office. Reason being, the doctors here are great, and folks keep coming back. I also have no experience with the techs on the glasses side - only with the Docs and ordering contacts, so I can't really talk about that, although while waiting I have overheard many glasses consultations, and the techs all seem to be very kind and caring, and seem to be going out of their way to get things right. Back to ME! I've been going to this office for a few years, getting my exam every year for my contacts. Usually I order on line, but sometimes I order here (they will match the prices on 1-800-CONTACTS or wherever you order, and make sure you get any rebates currently being offered). My last exam with Dr. Alan was great. He took a long time with me explaining everything thoroughly and making sure my vision was as good as it could possibly be. He is very personable, kind and thorough. During the exam, Dr. Alan referred me for a LASIK consult with Dr. Tooma - the doctor who did Dr. Alan's LASIK many years ago. I know he gets a referral fee, but he also loses a patient who orders lenses every year, so I thought it was great that he gave me the referral. Anyway, for various reasons, after my consult with Dr. Tooma I decided to put off LASIK and continued to wear my contacts (Dr. Alan also said they would buy back any unused contacts if I got LASIK, which I thought was great customer service). I developed an eye infection because of my own stupidity (wearing my lenses too long), and went in to see one of the other doctors there, Dr. Wong. He was super nice as well and also took plenty of time with me (hint folks - this explains some of the wait - the doctors actually take the time to make sure the patient understands what is happening) and prescribed drops. Asked me to make another appointment in a week, which I did. NO CHARGE for this appointment. Came back in a week, and was told that the infection was persistent, so to keep using the drops for 2 more weeks - ALSO NO CHARGE for this appointment. Really, how great is that? One more appointment to confirm that the infection was clear (again NO CHARGE), and I'm back in my lenses. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, especially if you want to come in on Saturday. Yes, sometimes the front desk staff is too busy to be super friendly, although they mostly are really great with me (maybe it's just you?). But I have had a truly first class experience every time I've been to this office, with various doctors and techs, and would not go anywhere else. Now I'm headed to Dr. Tooma in a couple of weeks for my surgery (finally), and Dr. Alan will be doing all my pre- and post-surgery care. He's the best, I trust him. If you make an appointment, request one of the Goldstones. They are very nice and a pleasure to have an appointment with. Not sure about the other doctors, but I would avoid an appointment with Dr. Terry K. When I went there, he was over 30 minutes late and strolled in slurping on a soda. Then I had to wait another 20 minutes to be seen. He didn't even apologize. He seemed quite arrogant. The office always seems to be chaotic and staff is unprofessional, disorganized. Double check your bill! If you can put up with all that, go for it. read more

Over the past 7 years I've purchased over 7 pairs of glasses for my children at Dr. Goldstone Optometry, and every-time I arrive I am greeted with a smile and exceptional customer service. However, I stopped by Dr. Goldstone's on 07/20/17, and I must say that Ms. Triana Hill was extremely professional, well-groomed and patient with my daughter and I. Triana made sure my daughter's glasses were to her liking, she looked up our account and processed our purchase with ease. Every time I need to pick up a pair of glasses, make a minor repair or adjustment, it would be my pleasure to receive service from Ms. Triana Hill. Great job Triana. Oh, and by the way did I mention we didn't have to wait 2-3 weeks for the glasses they were in stock and my daughter was able to make it to her basketball game and play in the game because we were able to get the glasses repaired immediately. read more

I had a Saturday appointment and waited 50 minutes so I left. The technician did do the glaucoma test, however, I was sent back to the waiting room which remained full. I think they overbook and waste people's time. I will finish the eye exam. I will most likely not return after this examination is complete. I left a message to re- schedule for tomorrow's appointment but did not receive a call back. Then, when I got home there was a message about the appointment so obviously they did not check their voice mail. I just left a second message on their voice mail. Let' s see how long It takes for a return phone call. I am not impressed with the organizational skills of the staff. read more

After not having an eye exam for a number of years, I made an appointment with Dr. Goldstone Vision Centers and it was definitely the right decision. Not only did they get me into an exam room within 15 minutes of checking in, but the technology used in the pre-exam was both advanced and comprehensive During the exam itself, the doctor thoroughly assessed and explained the information gathered during the pre-exam and found the perfect prescription for me. Overall the staff was extremely knowledgeable and helped me find the ideal pair of lenses from their large selection of glasses. I would definitely recommend this place to others! read more

I have been coming to the Carson office for several years now. Dr. Goldstone (as well as the rest of the staff) have always been very professional and courteous. I just had an appointment there last week for both eyeglasses and contacts, and as expected everything went smoothly. I was patiently explained the advantages and disadvantages of different contact lenses and decided to switch to dailies. The prices I got couldn't be beat. Dr. Alan Goldstone has gone above and beyond in taking care of my family. My family has had a number of reoccurring eye infections and he has been extremely responsive, knowledgeable, service oriented, and taken the time to understand our concerns. We have experienced little to no wait time for our appointments which is remarkable for a medical facility . Great all around experience AGAIN- from making the appt to the exam to payment to getting the glasses. Dr. Goldstone Jr. is incredible personable and patient, never felt rushed. It is a busy office, there is a short wait - 15, 20 mins... Nice people, not real smiley but definitely nice and caring, low pressure. My whole family has been seeing Dr. Goldstone and his staff for over 15 yrs. He diagnosed my mother with early macular degeneration, which has saved her eye sight. The staff is so nice and accommodating with time and appts; and getting my glasses of course! Each one makes you feel so comfortable, and definitely explains what is going on with each appt. I moved from the area but still will not go anywhere else for my eye care. read more

I have been there for manys years. One thing I noticed is that their staffs are getting crappy. Half of them are not friendly and the service is eh. I went for my exam the other day and I felt like it was a, "whats up, here you go" experience rather than "hello, how can I help you today with a smile" experience. One of the staff even rushed me about my option of what I would like my lenses to be, i.e. polycarbonate etc, so she can get the heck out for her lunch break. How nice was that... I also feel that their prices are high. I think this will be my last time going there and I might consider going to Costco, where its price competitive, better service, and better quality.
