Amazing service, skilled technician, taking COVID seriously with sanitizer + masks + plastic guards/shields. Also my pedicure is still going strong. I would honestly give this place a second try (except I don't live nearby), it may have been a bad batch of dip powder or bad top coat, etc.

I got a gel manicure and a regular polish pedicure. They didn't have a matching regular polish for the gel color I chose, so they had to find a "similar" shade for my toes. After my pedicure, the tech left the toe spacers in and disappeared. I waited about 30 minutes while my aunt finished, and by the time I went to get waxed, the polish on my right foot was already smudged and ruined. The tech came back to fix it, but she only applied one coat to the damaged toes, leaving three of them noticeably lighter than the rest. The receptionist repeatedly told me regular polish takes 4+ hours to dry. At this point I had already been at the salon for nearly 3 hours and needed to get back to my kids. I still paid the full bill -- approximately $120 plus a $21 tip. More than two hours after leaving, the polish on my left foot was also badly smudged and almost completely off my big toe. That night, my feet were literally sticking to my sheets because the polish was STILL not dry. By the next morning, both feet were completely ruined and polish had transferred onto my bedding. I contacted the salon and originally asked for a refund for ONLY the pedicure portion. They refused and told me to come back and have it redone. I wasn't comfortable doing that, especially after spending nearly 3 hours there the first time and traveling with two small children. Then, within just a few days, my GEL manicure also started chipping on multiple nails. I normally get a gel manicure and regular polish pedicure at my salon back home, and they last for weeks without these issues. Because both services failed, I am now disputing BOTH the manicure and pedicure portions with my bank. Very disappointing experience, especially considering I initially only asked to be refunded for the pedicure. Pictures are attached and speak for themselves.

I stopped into Total Nail Spa today and learned that it's under new ownership, and I couldn't be more pleased. Ana, the new owner (who also owns Today's Nail and Spa), was incredibly kind and welcoming. I received a gel tip manicure, and she did an amazing job--truly one of the best manicures I've had. The attention to detail and care really stood out. She also mentioned that the salon will be remodeling soon, and I'm genuinely excited to see the updates. If today's experience is any indication, it's going to be wonderful. If you haven't been here before, I definitely recommend checking it out--and if you've been in the past, it's absolutely worth giving it another chance under the new ownership. I read some complaints about people having to wait a while until they were seated with an employee, so I played it safe and made an appointment for a Wednesday afternoon at 5:00. I got there a little early and was seated immediately as it wasn't too busy at the time. I got a pedicure first. It was very good, and she took her time doing a nice job. I sat and relaxed in the massage chair while she went about her business. The only issue was that before she painted my nails, she used lotion on my legs and feet, which she did not wipe off with any polish remover, rubbing alcohol, etc. prior to using the paint color. My toenail polish usually will last weeks, even when I do it myself, but this started chipping within three days of application :( It seemed like she knew what she was doing otherwise, so I chalked it up to oversight or distraction. Who doesn't have a rough day at work sometimes? Still a big disappointment, but I was just thankful I had the exact shade of polish at home so I could fix what was coming off. Then I got a full set of acrylic done by another employee. She was super friendly and talkative, which I enjoyed. She did a really good job on my nails overall, and definitely took her time. Between the pedicure and the full acrylic application I was probably there about two hours. The only thing I noticed after the fact about my manicure was that she never pushed back my cuticles before applying the acrylics. This seemed to make a huge impact on the wear of the nails, as it looked like I needed a fill much sooner than I should have. If she had pushed them back she'd have been able to start the acrylic higher up and they wouldn't have grown out on me so quickly :-/ Overall, I liked this place. It used to be located in Charlestowne Mall, and every time I would walk by it was the only thing in the mall that was packed and busy. That was one of the first reasons I decided to try it. I figured all those customers knew something I didn't! And as I am relatively new to the area, I had yet to try any nail places close to home. I did have a nice overall experience, but perhaps this should act as a warning for customers to pay attention to what is actually being done while you are there so they don't miss any important steps in the process.

This place never lets me down! Not only do they do a great job, their prices are super affordable. Definitely the cheapest I have seen. The space is clean, they use the plastic pedicure bowl liners, and tools come in those sealed sterilizing bags. I got a winter special pedicure that included salt soak, paraffin dip, hot towel-wrapped leg masque, and hot stone massage for only $55. Phenomenal pedicure. I got a basic manicure (regular polish) with paraffin add on for $25. The best part is that the owners (who are very nice) don't rush services to get as many customers in as possible. I left feeling so relaxed. For me, the nail hygiene and skin care are most important, not the polish/aesthetics. My hands and feet look and feel great. My toe nails were cut and shaped properly. My finger nails were cut short and filed rounded like I wanted. All my cuticles were gently pushed back and trimmed (no pain or cuts). The nice polish was icing on the cake.

The girls who did our nails (I believe one of them was the owner) were friendly and professional and the salon was spotless. We also loved the massage chairs! My mom is coming to visit again next week and the first thing she wants to do is get another pedicure here. Besides having great pedicures, we both felt like they truly appreciated our business!
