Let's see - visited salon on 7/21/25 before vacation. Paraffin wax for pedicure was too hot. Ended up with 2nd degree burns on my left foot. Burns on right foot as well and massive peeling. I have been going here for years. What is extremely disappointing is that when I reached out to the owner to let her know, there was minimal concern and more importantly there was no accountability. I had to seek medical care and take steroids for swelling and for burns. Will NEVER return. read more

Last night I went to DK Nails for a manicure and pedicure. Careful with the very older lady. She was very rough. I did not find my manicure relaxing at all. I then proceeded to do my nails. I mentioned I did not want a no chip for my nails. I usually get the dip. The old lady was absolutely clueless, and so the owner of the salon continued to assist with the no-chip; finally, after a continued argument, I said I wanted a regular manicure; looks like that bothered the old lady cause she sure made it noticeable. She then began to do my nails and she legit nicked me. I was bleeding a lot. That old lady, sorry to say, should not be doing nails! I was very upset. I said I'm done. I will only pay for my pedicure, she was lucky that I gave her a tip. I will never go there again; ladies. STAY AWAY FROM OLD ASIAN LADY!!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! read more

What's the point of making an appointment when you have to wait one hour anyway? Poor customer service!

I've had a hard time finding a good suburban nail spot as my go-to. Spending some time at my moms over the summer and this city girl was in desperate need of a mani/pedi. Pricing was fai.. I've never been a fan of places that offer various types of manicure and pedicures for different prices a little gimmicky for my taste, mainly because I feel that a good mani/pedi should be good no matter what one you select. I opted for the $45 green tea pedi and regular mani. I believe my techs name was Vanessa but it could have been Melissa, I'm terrible with names but she was really great. Thorough and meticulous, very happy with the services overall just wish this place had a better selection of regular polish colors, many were old and it seems like they have much more for people getting no chip but for a regular nail gal like myself not as much to offer. I love when a place stocks the long lasting newer bottles of etsy and OPI but I didn't see any here. Aside from that will be back for great service just may bring my own polish. read more

Absolutely unprofessional salon. I made an appointment for 3:15pm. I asked three times if they could take me at 3:15pm because I will have another appointment later. The lady assured me that yes. I came to the salon, which is obviously under remodeling. I chose a color and nobody cared about me for the next 14 minutes. When I asked if someone would come, one of the employees said "just wait". I said "I had an appointment on 3:15pm". Again, I have to wait another five minutes. I said that I don't understand why they promised me on the phone that they can take me at 3:15pm?. One of the women asked me when do I have to leave? I told her that it doesn't matter because I had an appointment at 3:15 pm not at 3:30 not at 3:40 but at 3:15. she said again to wait for someone to come. I have lived in Illinois for just over a year and have tried 4 or 5 nail salons. Each one I went to did one of two things. 1. Was super nice and friendly but did a terrible job and my nails were lifting or chipped in a week 2. Acted like they were doing me a favor by completing a nail service. Tina and Kim from DK nails were so nice and accommodating! Including staying late to finish my manicure and pedicure. I had gone to this place so much, but each time I go back it gets worse and worse. If you have an appointment, it doesn't mean you'll be seen at that time, unless you show up when they open. They prioritize walk ins just as much as appointments. They rush through the nails, leaving you cut and bleeding, the dip is so thick. I asked for a white based on the sample, and it turns out it was actually nude somehow? I had the balls to say something for the first time, and they put no chip white on top of the nude so I had like 8 layers of nail polish on my hands, and they rushed while fixing it. I had polish all over my finger tips. They were speaking in their language in front of me after I complained so I felt super uncomfortable like they were talking crap about me. I said it was good, paid and left. Until I put my nails up to my wedding dress because I'm getting married this weekend, and my nails were YELLOW! I found another place that was cheaper, painted a sample nail for me to make sure I liked it, and did a beautiful job in less than an hour. I called them to talk about my dissatisfaction and how I was nervous to say something again about being unhappy and they told me to come in and get it fixed. Why would I want to go in again and risk being talked about again or having them messed up? I asked for a refund for my mani as the pedi I got was good, and they wouldn't do it. No refunds. Some of them are nice and know what they are doing, but I'm sad this one time couldn't be resolved how I preferred. read more

I've been going to DK for a couple of months now. They have been able to give me an appointment same day when I call ahead. I get no-chip for my manicure and it holds up very well for several weeks until I go back. I've only had one pedicure and it was very nice. Color lasted a long time. All their tools are fresh - the tech opens the package in front of me. Salon is clean & all staff are masked. The 1st thing they ask you to do before signing in is to wash your hands. I have to give this place 5 stars based on my spa pedicure experience. It's clean, it's peaceful, customer service is great! I'm overjoyed! To note, I haven't finished yet, but I wanted to write this while I could. I received the Tropical pedicure. Usually, at other nail salons, I go for the basics and skip any massages or anything extra just because they're never up to par or worth the additional charge. I really enjoyed my pedicure. It's been months since I've had a pedicure. I started doing them at home just because I was tired of wasting money, but it's a lot of work. Diem cut my cuticles, removed all the calluses (there was a lot), massaged me to no end, and all while I was sitting in their WONDERFUL new-tech spa chair! I am diabetic, have neuropathy in both feet and lymphedema in my left leg. Taking care of my feet is very important but it is difficult for me to do myself. It can also be difficult to get someone at a nail salon to be gentle, yet thorough, enough. Kim at DK Nails was amazing. She was extremely gentle, checking in with me all the time, but also ensured that my feet looked and felt fantastic when she was done. First time going here was last Wednesday. Everyone there is super nice, it was very clean. You can tell they have a lot of regulars who go there. I had a dip manicure and regular pedicure- both of which were super relaxing and refreshing. I'm giving it a 3 because my nails started chipping yesterday, not even a full week with them! I work retail, so I know I'm rough with my nails, but usually a dip lasts me 3 weeks, not 4 days. Mostly upset I spent that money and it's ruined already. read more
