This place is the worst nail place!! They were so rude. I have a disability in my hand, and they were so mean about what design I requested for. The guy that I had instantly said " I don't know if I'll be able to do that because of her hand." so I changed it to a different design. While he was putting the tips on, i could tell he was frustrated. Many times I apologized, but I really be apologizing? I cannot help it. Anyways, he finally just gave up and said "this is too hard, I cannot do this!" then we asked him if we could do something else and he still said "anything is just too hard." Loved my experience and would definitely go back when I want another mani/pedi. Definitely make an appointment if you go! I have been really nervous about getting nail services during COVID, particularly with cleanliness and sanitation. The space is clean, they use the plastic pedicure bowl liners, and tools come in those sealed sterilizing bags. I got a winter special pedicure that included salt soak, paraffin dip, hot towel-wrapped leg masque, and hot stone massage for only $55. Phenomenal pedicure. I got a basic manicure (regular polish) with paraffin add on for $25. The best part is that the owners (who are very nice) don't rush services to get as many customers in as possible. I left feeling so relaxed. For me, the nail hygiene and skin care are most important, not the polish/aesthetics. My hands and feet look and feel great. My toe nails were cut and shaped properly. My finger nails were cut short and filed rounded like I wanted. All my cuticles were gently pushed back and trimmed (no pain or cuts). The nice polish was icing on the cake. read more

Super lovely experience at this nail spa with happy friendly people. They were accommodating, polite, professional, pleasant. I wanted the "Christmassy" look. They did such a great job. Doesn't look like that great of a salon from the outside, not muchbetter inside. Decor is half outdated, half updated? and the pedicure chairs look worn. I came in for a no-chip manicure and as the girl asked me what to do with my nails, shape wise I said more oval like the natural shape of a nail as the salon who did my nails prior, made them weirdly square so I said to just soften them up, more rounded, squared/ oval was fine. I was told my nails were too short for a rounder shape so I said it was fine to just file them down. She did one hand fine, even though I had to tell her to round out my thumb more a few times but, for the other hand, she had asked if I wanted her to file my nails or should she cut my nails and I said no, what she did with the other hand, which was just file them down, was fine. She didn't file them down enough and just fixed the shape, so I asked her to fix it so they were of even length on each hand and she said "but you said not to cut it..?" like uh..... if that's what you need to do to make them even, then do it? Why would you as my opinion on whether to cut or file to make them even? Wasn't impressed after that, didn't want to leave a tip at all which is very unlike me but, she was so rude and unwelcoming, even though the manicure doesn't look terrible, I will definitely not be coming back any time soon. Low quality salon with very low quality employees, could be better if the employees were welcoming and engaging, more talkative, and not rude. Attached are pictures of my manicure/ what I wanted and what I got. The color was supposed to be OPI Bubble Bath, which is a pale/ nude pink color, but i don't think she did enough coats of polish to make the color pop. 1 star for getting the dip on even. 0 stars for: - not putting the color on the right nails and not fixing it. Claiming he couldn't redo it. (Yes you can...he was just being lazy) - for pressing personal questions about me, when I kept changing the topic and was getting uncomfortable (where I lived, etc) - not giving me a manicure (clean nails, cuticles, etc) and saying they don't come with the dip. Then saying no place does that. Lies. This was my first experience ever, where I never got a full manicure, with a dip. So ticked. - not cleaning up under my nails- where it feels like clumps of the dips is stuck. So uncomfortable. - saying the nail service was done and leaving dip powder all over my fingers. They looked a mess and said cleaning up is not part of the service. - asking 3x if I massaged the front of bodies for men, which was clearly asking if I did happy endings. Completely out of line and felt so uncomfortable. -complained multiple times how is wrist hurt. Okay, I get it. But I'm paying my hard earned money to treat myself and this has been one of the worst experiences of my life. He kept complaining how bad his health was and working was hard. I will never EVER come back to this place. To top it off, I found out he is the owner. I tried talking to him about how upsetting this was and he dismissed me. read more

I got them done on Saturday and 6 days later they started to peel and chip. The place has lost it's touch. It seemed unkept from what I remember. Like they stopped caring. I have been living in the Dekalb and Sycamore area for a year and have made frequent visits to most of the nail salons in the area. The Nail & Spa on peace rd is by far the worst choice for any kind of professional services. On any given day the operation is run by the staff and there is no management to oversee the poor business practices. The owners (husband and wife) hire friends and family to do manicures and pedicures with absolutely no training whatsoever! Not only did my girlfriend and myself get upsetting service, but all the patrons in the establishment. Do not think about questioning your service unless you would like to be harassed by the staff in Vietnamese all talking about you! Its literally a stereotypical sean out of a bad comedy skit! I've heard great things about this salon but unfortunately did not have a great experience myself. By the end of the night I left having received a dip mani and regular pedi. To start my experience while cleaning up my cuticles I was nicked and caused to bleed not once but three times...on three separate nails. I continued to bleed for over an hour. When I showed concern over the bleeding it was brushed over as if I was overreacting. We then moved to the pedicure to try and wait out my bleeding fingers. I came with a friend and we intended to get pedicures at the same time so we could talk. However for only a small portion of the time were we able to chat until my pedicure abruptly ended and I was shuffled over quickly to attempt to do my nails. At this time my friend's pedicure was still in progress. By the end her pedicure lasted at least 2-3x longer than mine with more of the relaxing massage portion because I was rushed to get my fingers taken care of. Then I tried the dip technique on my nails rather than the no chip. During the process I could see there was something off about one of the nails but the nail technician continued with the process despite also seeing the issue developing. When I pointed out that I was concerned about the mistake I was again dismissed and told there was nothing there, even though it clearly was. (I even had my friend double check to make sure that I wasn't seeing things.) Also there was no massage or lotion as part of the service. I was offered lotion as a side note after I sat there and must have looked very confused when the technician was finished. Another concern I thought about afterwards was how with the dip technique my blood may have gotten into the power. Lucky for me I know that I am disease free however I don't know how many others have been nicked and then used the dip afterwards possibly contaminating the entire set of containers. At the end of the experience I was clearly upset about how things had progressed and I was STILL bleeding!!! Before I left the last ditch effort to try and stop the bleeding was to apply the yellow coagulating powder (which is the same powder used on dogs if their nails are cut too short). For this lovely experience I paid $70 plus tip and was not offered any sort of discount or compensation. I am disappointed in this experience and will not be returning or recommending anyone else to go to this nail salon. I do not frequently get my nails done but I think it's a fair expectation to not want to be cut so bad in three places that you end up bleeding for almost the entire time. In the end we'll see how long my nails end up lasting, hopefully it'll be long enough to make this experience worth it! read more

Let me start off by saying i have my cosmetology license, so i know how to do acrylics.. okay so i was in for a full set of acrylics. The man who did my nails was very rough and it was uncomfortable. Once i was done, i looked underneath my nails, and multiple nails were not even glued to the tips. There was a huge space between my nail and the acrylic! That's asking for a nail fungus.. there are also bubbles in the acrylic on every single nail. I pointed out that my nails were lifting, and they tried to "fix" it.. by fix it i mean they took the nail glue and just glued underneath my nails to my skin. The space was not fixed. i am hugely disappointed and angry that i even paid to have my nails done when i could have done a better job at home. I will not be coming back here EVER again. read more

Rough experience. I arrived with my daughter an hour and a half before closing time. We were barely greeted and then waited for pedicures for 45-50 minutes. Once we were seated, I got started but my daughter continued to wait a long time. During my pedicure, the person doing my pedicure got up 4-5 times to help his small son. My daughter was given similar treatment and her person doing the pedicure went to help another client for a long while. My daughter was given maybe a 10 minute pedicure altogether. We were then rushed to pay and leave because it was close to closing time. It was a really negative experience. read more

After reading reviews about this place I am completely let down. Took my cousin to get her nails done and decided to get my toes done as well. I was finished and the lady asked me if I was getting anything else done and I responded nope not today thank you. Right after, she got up and didn't walk me to the dry light. Didn't put toe spacers in between my toes. didn't even come back. Just up and walked away and started talking to a coworker. On top of that, I think I'm paying for just a polish change because I did not even get a minor foot rub. She punched the bottom of my foot maybe 5 times and went right to the color. On top of the horrible job they did with my pedicure, I have never experienced such rude staff. A friend and I went for some pampering during a particularly difficult moment in both of our lives, and the technician proceeded to spend the duration of our service making fun of us. In English, no less. His humor was not only distasteful, but he made personal and very insensitive comments related to our appearance. I have been coming here for over a year now and the service is incredible. Tracy and her family give the best results in the business. I get full set acrylics. I have been to over 20 nail salons since I was 15 and now that I have found this one I will never go to another. I now drive an hour to the store to get my nails done when need be. The staff is amazingly friendly and my nails last weeks and weeks until I choose to come back to the store. They offer all the latest nail trends and amazing art. I really like this place--it's located in the same strip mall as the Eggsclusive Cafe, which is a very convenient location for me as I live really close by. I frequently stop in without an appointment, and they always take me with a smile. I only go in for pedicures, and I've noticed that their pedicures are very reasonably priced (I believe it's $32 for a pedicure with the usual foot exfoliation and massage, etc.), whereas you could pay $50 for similar service at say, Dolce Vita. Also, their pedicures last longer than the pricier ones. I just used a coupon at a more fancy salon and still spent more on my pedicure than I would have at Nail & Spa, and my nail polish is already chipping. I've learned my lesson and will just be going to Nail & Spa for my pedis from now on. Oh, and the massage chairs are a nice touch. :) read more

the equipment is so old that the cheese raze look beat up and still wet when they take them from the back of the store. I feel like I'm using one from the previous customer. the black thing they use after that is obviously used for along time as it show its age along the edge and the color. the cuticle scissor is rusted on the edge. the team cant speak english. and what more when the old lady do my manicure just do what she want and say that it's look good. she so impolite and forcefully pull my fingers all the time regardless that I say it hurt. read more
