    Mushroom pizza, super yummy

Pleasantly surprised by everything, the food was fresh, there was a lot of options and reasonably priced. There were lots of tables and quite a few customers considering it was a cold winter evening. I liked that it wasn't noisy inside the restaurant and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I plan to go back soon.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto and close to College Park. Perfect if you work in the area or if you go to school nearby. Plenty of seating inside and it has a sort of industrial, cafeteria vibe. The staff are so friendly and greeted us right away when we got there. You order at the front, and then take your food in trays to any table you like. We got the meal for 2 (includes 1 pasta, 1 pizza, 1 size salad, and 2 pops! We got: * Chicken Pesto Pasta * Gourmet Mushroom Pizza * Side Caesar Salad Super yummy and more than enough for the both of us. Would definitely eat here again!

@tostoquickfire My favourite takeout pasta spot in the bay college area. $35 after tax, get two large and generous portions of a house made fresh pasta. I would argue it tastes much better compared to @dalmoroscanada We ordered the funghi creamy pasta and the sausage, rapini, and goat cheese pasta. They have several types of pasta to choose from; we picked gigli for the red sauce and rigatoni for the white sauce. Delicious!

Not the best place for pasta. Pizzas are around $10 - 34 and pastas are around $10 - 18. Staff was nice. However, based on the quality of the food, I do not feel I will visit again. Everything felt very rushed. I had chunks and chunks of pasta stuck together. I did not have a positive experience, especially after the long 20-30 minutes wait. There are definitely places with better value and pasta in the Discovery District neighborhood.

Good place to stop by for a casual dinner; nice modern design, food was served quickly (restaurant is not very busy). I had the funghi pasta ($16.50), really enjoyed the sauce - would definitely recommend this one. Thought the price was a bit steep + no table service.

The food at Tosto? Pretty fresh and decent. The wait at Tosto? Insanely slow. I've been to Tosto a few times for lunch and they are always consistent. The food always tastes freshly made, but the time to get the food is always 30+ minutes. It's a decently sized restaurant. You place your order, pay at the counter and grab a seat. First come first serve. They give you a buzzer and you pick up your food when it's ready. I've tried ordering in person and ordering online.. and both options render the same result. Perhaps it's because it's a fairly popular place, but it just takes way too long to get your food! I've tried a few different items on the menu and they've all been pretty delicious and filling. Can't go wrong with any, just make sure you allocate enough time to get your food and eat it too!

I'd say 4.5 here. Not sure what's with the bad reviews lately but I came here at 6pm and my experience here great. The place was half busy. Ordered carbonara pasta, funghi pasta, and calamari and they were all good and filling. Everything seemed reasonable to me in terms of food quality to the price. Staff were friendly and I got everything I've ordered quickly. I would come here again.

    Braised beef rigatoni for $17.45+tax

The noodles are harder than usual.. under done for me and I had asked for extra cheese but as you can see there's no cheese. The wait wasn't bad since no one else was in the restaurant. I also asked for a packet of crushed red chilli peppers which added more flavour. The braised beef was nice and soft but a little too soft, like a beef floss rather than pieces of meat. Their white sauce pastas have been better than this one, I wouldn't order this again. The portions I consider on the smaller side for $17 as you can get more pasta at other restaurants.

I've been here twice now and this might become my go-to italian spot for lunch. They offer all kinds of different pizzas and pastas, all in pretty decent portion sizes. So far, I've only ordered the pizzas; they come in three different sizes: single, share and group. First time around, I got a single Braised Beef Pizza and it was delicious! The beef was seasoned well and the crust was crispy and was able to support all the toppings on each slice. It also comes with a sunny-side up egg on one of the slices; I recommend using the yolk as a dip as the flavours really work well together. Second time around, I got the Fungi Pizza to share with a friend. There's honestly too much mushrooms on this pizza for me to enjoy. The crust and everything else was great but the intoxicating mushroom flavour really dominated every slice. It's not bad, but definitely not something I'll be getting again. If you're looking for some solid pizza without a horrendous wait time, Tosto has got you covered. I'm going to have to try the pasta the pasta next time...

There is a dearth of decent dinning spots in this area and sadly this place tries to fill the void and doesn't succeed. The setup is geared more towards a lunch crowd from what I could tell and has an open feel. Anyway on to the main attraction we ordered a share size margerita pizza I had the Bolognese. Mundane Pasta and pizza that tastes like frozen counterparts. The service is good which gives it a half star bump. It can be a decent choice over food courts if you are just looking for food as a filler. Otherwise keep on looking this area :)

Pre covid this was my go to spot for lunch and had been back since last March 2020 - they did not disappoint ! I ordered the margherita pizza and prosciutto with arugula pizza and Caesar salad, the pizza crust and sauces are phenomenal and made fresh to order. The staff is beyond kind providing napkins and cutlery without asking and the package is perfect for take out. Would recommend if you are in the Yonge and college area and want a quick bite the eat !

Squid ink linguini in puttanesca sauce - will be back for more
    Carlotta C.

Every time I've been I liked it but never loved it. I recently went again and I ordered the puttanesca pasta- squid ink linguine with tomato sauce, anchovy, sopressata, tomatoes, capers and black olives... was a bit skeptic at first about the mix. Their portions are big and excuse their prices, and I was ready to bring back home half of my plate. To my great surprise the pasta was amazing, it was in just the right amount of sauce, right amount of spice and most importantly well cooked. Only weird thing is when I asked for water all they had to give me was hot water from a kettle. Overall good experience!

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

As soon as I entered I got a whiff of fresh bread and was suddenly overwhelmed by the amount of breads and baked goods on display. I've had their cheese pullapart loafs as well as danishes previously before, however, this time I was at the store for a free cinnamon bun as it was a free birthday reward for being a member of their Cobs Club. The cashier was friendly and asked if I wanted either a cinnamon bun with icing or plain. I opted for a cinnamon bun with icing and she put it in a box for me before handing it over. During my time at the store the place had a steady flow of customers, coming in to buy baked goods. My cinnamon bun was big and tasted great! I heated it up a bit when I got home. Overall, a convenient location in the Annex for freshly baked bread and goods!

You can really feel the care and personality behind the space, which added so much to the overall visit. We tried a variety of items, but the Pizza Caesar Wrap was easily the standout and our favourite thing we ate. Crispy, cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavour. Even better, $3 from every wrap goes toward supporting Daily Bread Food Bank through their $30,000 fundraising campaign, which made ordering it feel even more worthwhile. We also really enjoyed the Spicy Ham & Cheese, which had the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, salty, and savoury flavours. The Gourmet French Hot Dog was another highlight with its sweet and savoury flavour combination wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. The Four Seasons sandwiches were a fun concept inspired by the Blue Jays, and while the Chef's Choice wasn't our personal favourite, some people at our table enjoyed it more than we did. For dessert, all of the cookies were freshly baked in-house and surprisingly good for a grab-and-go style spot. The double chocolate chip was rich and soft, and the white chocolate cranberry and macadamia cookies were both solid classics. The iced matcha latte with oat milk paired especially well with them, and the iced vanilla latte was smooth and easy to drink. The space itself is bright and open with big windows that bring in lots of natural light during the day. Seating is cozy, but the layout still feels spacious and comfortable overall. Overall, a playful comfort food spot that offers catering with genuinely friendly service, creative menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.
