I was visiting a friend in Liberty Village around dinner time so we went wandering through the neighbourhood in search of a good meal. We must have stopped at every restaurant and they were all packed, with long wait times. Darn! The Toronto FC were playing the CF Montréal at the nearby BMO Field. That's why it's so busy! We ended up wandering a little farther north to Levetto, a cozy Italian joint offering pizza, pasta, and wine. This turned out to be a great move because the pizza and pasta that we had were outstanding! It was a nice evening with great weather so we sat on their cozy patio and had some wine while waiting for the food. We enjoyed a great tasting pasta dish! The Pollo Con Zucca, made with tagliatelle, parmesan cream sauce, butternut squash, chicken breast, parsley, and Grana Padano was deeelicious! Known as the Carnivoro, this pizza had tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, braised beef, bacon, and spicy soppressata. The crust was nice, light, and crispy. Outstanding pizza! This place has been on my radar for some time - as one of the "fresh pasta" place. Yet, it has never been my priority probably due to mixed reviews. I happened to be around this area, looking for some carbs for dinner. So we picked up Carbonara pasta only. Pleasant surprise. The pasta had fresh house-made texture with firm bite (in a good way, not under-cooked firmness). Noodle was thicker side (my preference). This tiny location serves up decent pasta and pizza and we stopped in to grab a quick meal. The small restaurant (maybe 5-6 tables of 4) was packed with a particularly noisy (drunk) table was next to us which made conversations difficult. It took them a while to take our order (my beer was more than half done), but the food came out in a decent time. My Amatriciana was packed with so much bacon (almost too much) and the other 2 pizzas were both decent, but not great. -2 points for the broken toilet which my husband and I fixed. I stopped by for a meal while visiting a friend. The restaurant isn't large, but the atmosphere is great and the decor is comfortable. The pasta and pizza were delicious, with fresh ingredients and a well-balanced flavor. After living next to Levetto for 8 years we finally ventured in as we needed a quick casual later night bite. I will start by saying this is a pizza and pasta place. They do both very well but if you don't eat meat there's not an alternative protein option. The table got a bunch of pastas and the servings are HUGE- everyone loved them and got to pack some for home. They do make all the pastas fresh in house which is fun! I got the arugula salad which was delicious also a huge portion! Everything is topped with a mountain of Parmesan. The service was a little slow since they were busy with online orders. We ordered four types of pasta and each of them were delicious. I ordered takeaway for dinner from Levetto and got the Beef Ragu and garlic bread. The estimated wait time was 15 minutes and the order was ready shortly after I arrived to pick it up. The ragu was delicious and a very generous portion. There was lots of shredded beef and the melted grana padano cheese on top added a nice bite. The garlic bread was also huge; I expected maybe 3-4 pieces, but this was the size of a small pizza. I would have liked a stronger garlic flavor, but overall it was pretty good and a nice addition to dip into the ragu sauce. Hopefully I can return to Levetto the next time I'm in Toronto, as I'd love to try one of their pizzas. Highly recommend the pasta so far, though! read more

We picked up supper a couple weeks ago from Levetto. Gord ordered his usual Carbonara pasta (spaghetti, smoked bacon, shallots, cracked black pepper, egg and Grana Padang). Went for dinner with my friend and we tried the following: - Ricotta arancini ($11) 3.5/5 decent but expected more flavour. Also really hard on the outside - Margherita pizza ($19) 2.5/5 crust is bland and dry, sauce is pretty bland, cheese was decent (nice cheese pull) and pesto drizzle was nice - Sorrentina pasta ($20) 3/5 decent but lacking flavour, the cheeses were the best part and they give lots of cheese (both grana padano & bocconcini). Rigatoni was also about 1 minute undercooked from al dente in my opinion, a little too much bite and too chewy - Aglio e olio ($20) 3/5 spicy, well balanced with cheese, spice, and olive oil garlic flavour. Was slightly undercooked (not yet al dente). "Inconvenient pasta shape" according to my friend. Best part was the sun dried tomatoes for her - Peach Iced Tea ($unknown) 5/5 best part of the meal honestly. Perfectly sweetened and nice peach flavour. Overall 3/5, decent food but avoid the pizza and maybe the pasta is better on certain days but I wouldn't go again. I also would not recommend this place to others, for the price of the food I expected better flavours. Went here for the first time on the weekend. We got there around 8 o'clock and the restaurant was pretty empty. SUCH GOOD PASTA. I got the carbonara and bf got the beef ragu, both very very tasty. Definitely one of the best pasta dishes I've had! My carbonara had the perfect al dente pasta and the sauce was creamy but still light so you don't get sick eating too much of it. We came here on our infamous quest for perfect pizza. This place serves square shaped, thick crust Romana pizza. I ordered Pollo Tuscano (chicken). Crust was thick and flavourful. Chicken was fresh. Expect stretchy cheese with every bite. You can tell that this place does not cut corners when it comes to ingredients and is more interested in making a great quality pizza rather than simply making a quick buck from potheads. Prices are very reasonable. Sizes are a little tricky, small = 4 slices, medium = 6 slices, large = 12 slices. In case you are wondering, yes small should be enough to fill you up. Remember to leave room for complimentary dessert upon checking in. While this cozy place is mainly for takeout orders, they sure put on efforts to accommodate our dine in experience. Proper plates, bowls, and silverware. I was impressed by how the staff handled our table of 8 even though they were getting takeout orders left and right. They serve Alcoholic beverages here. It's not a huge place, but there are a good number of seats. I noticed a lot of people going in for take-out. Service was excellent; our server knew the menu well and she was very attentive, ensuring that we were enjoying our meal and experience here. Been wanting to come here for some time now. Decided I had to go after seeing my cousins snapchat of the delicious food as well as getting good reviews on their food. There was a huge table occupied by a big group celebrating someone's birthday. We got seated at a communal long table with metal stools. We ordered the pasta Carbonara $10.50, the rigatoni with braised beef ragu $13, a medium smoked prosciutto with sweet date sauce, fresh arugula, fior di latte, and toasted almonds $15, and got a free dessert for checking into yelp when dining at the location and we decided on the warm brown butter coconut semolina cake. Everything came out in a timely manner. The Carbonara was pretty good although bland tasting if you have the rigatoni first. The rigatoni was my favourite, it was full of flavour and quite meaty. The portions don't look so big but they are! The plates are just huge! Perfect for my bf since he has a huge appetite. We also really enjoyed the pizza. It was sweet and salty, crispy and airy. The dough reminded me of some sort of bread. I was able to eat it all, it was that good! My bf told me he found his new favourite Italian spot. The service was great, the waitress kept coming up and checking on how we were doing and how the food was. Levetto is a place that i go to for quick pasta. The portion sizes are fairly large. One of the pastas we got was under cooked and when we let the server know, she took it and re-made us another one. So i would say they have great service at this location. The pasta noodle here are al dente so if you like more cooked and softer pasta, this place might mot be for you. Also, due to the undercooked vodka sauce pasta, they graciously gifted us a chocolate mousse tart. Tip: check into the restaurant on Yelp for a free dessert! I ordered the pomodoro pasta which was a simple tomato sauce pasta cooked with olive oil and garlic. Flavour wise I thought it wasn't boring, which sometimes happens with simple tomato pastas, and quite tasty. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce coated the soaghetti noodles nicely. I think it's definitely worth trying for it's simple but rich flavour. Given the price you are paying for (~$9 for the dish) you're receiving a pretty big portion. I also used the Yelp check in function and got free dessert! Friends and I ordered most of the offered desserts and I tried the white chocolate tiramisu and coconut cake. The tiramisu was very underwhelming, presentation and taste wise. Maybe because I was expecting a traditional tiramisu layered dessert but this was just lady fingers stacked onto each other with some cream. I'm not complaining as it was free dessert, but if you were to pay for it I don't think it'd be worth it. The coconut cake on the other hand was delicious! The food here is truly excellent. So delicious and a party to your tastebuds. The service is a bit slow (thankfully, we weren't in a hurry), but their friendliness and courtesy when they were actually around was appreciated. Overall, despite a few kinks, we really enjoyed our visit to this location. First, parking. There's a Green P located just west of the restaurant, and on a weekday, parking is $1.50 for every half hour before 7:00 PM. After 7:00 PM, the flat rate is $5.00. There's also lots of street parking available around the restaurant (if you can find a spot). Second, the food. Remember to 'check in' in the Yelp app - you get a free dessert! We ordered the Soppressata (Spicy) in half size ($7.00), the Carbonara ($12.50). We also ordered the Warm Brown Butter & Coconut Semolina Cake (free with the Yelp app). Overall, very tasty. The pizza had a wonderful kick, and although the bacon wasn't very crispy, the carbonara was delicious and hearty (heavy on the cheese). The coconut cake was quite decent, but a lot denser than I expected it to be - it's not fluffy at all, and the coconut flavours really stand out. Still, a pretty good meal! I guess our only issue was the service. They don't check on you very often, and we were confused about whether this is a self-serve restaurant, or a wait-service type restaurant (we still don't know - it was very confusing). We were waiting around 20 minutes to order until we gave up and went to the counter to order (we didn't know if we had to order ourselves, or wait for staff to come take our order). We also had to bring our own plates up to the counter ourselves - we weren't sure if we had to or not but did so anyway since no one came to take them. We were walked to our table when we first came in and introduced to a server, so we assumed it was a wait-service type experience. But, the rest of the evening felt very self-serve, and we weren't checked on during our meal at all. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way? Note: we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Anyway, service confusion aside, the staff themselves were very warm and courteous when they were around. And the food is definitely worth coming back for. I am not normally a fan of pizza and pasta but this place may have changed my mind in a delicious bowl of pasta I had. The menu is simple, and good. Good as in I like how you can chose from pasta dishes aside from the ordinary and traditional pasta dishes. I had the beef and pasta dish(can't remember the exact name) but I certainly remembered the taste. They cooked the pasta perfectly to my expectation - slightly under cooked pasta. The flavours were on point and the portion size is just right. Also order a salad with the a stellar dressing. For the first time I would say I am craving to go back and get another pasta dish again.
