5 of us went to Toscano's for dinner on Sunday afternoon. To say the food and service was perfect almost seems like an understatement! My husband said never has he been so satisfied with everything in a restaurant and he's 80 So the voice of experience! The orders were 2 shrimp appetizers, one bruschetta I'm tempted next time to just have the appetizer and a salad the sauce the perfectly cooked shrimp were in was unbelievably good. Two orders of seafood Diablo, huge scallops, lots of shrimp, calamari and muscles. One order of spaghetti and meatballs, one chicken Alfredo, and one chicken piccata. My dad and I strolled into this place on a whim after so many restaurants were closed after 8pm. They gladly seated us right away and waited on us hand and foot! We were greeted with delicious warm Parmesan/garlic bread, and a lovely olive oil dip! Our waitress was sweet and attentive! My dad ordered the Shrimp Penne and he ate it all! He said the shrimp was the freshest he's ever had up in this neck of the woods! My spaghetti was to die for! Super hearty, savory sauce, al dente pasta! This is a great place and so happy to have them in town. Excellent food, a menu with variety, and reasonable. The servers have all been friendly and attentive. The outside patio is perfect , offering covered dining with heaters when you need them . The wine selection is good and desserts sound yummy but we have not tried them yet . Last night we went to Toscano's for our 25th anniversary. We had a reservation which wasn't necessary as the restaurant was not busy. Unbeknownst to us, our children had called ahead and paid for our meal and left us an anniversary message. We had a nice meal, a bottle of wine and were presented the check, which was substantial. We tipped generously paid the bill and left. This morning we got a call from our daughter and asked about the dinner. She then mentioned that they had paid for it. We were very surprised. I called the restaurant to speak to the owner as we were quite upset. The young lady who answered the phone was flippant about the mixup and rude when I asked for the owner or the manager. After I expressed my displeasure, she quite rudely said "what do you want me to do about it." She refused my request to speak to the manager or owner by telling me they were busy. I asked for a return call when they weren't busy and was told that wasn't going to happen, besides it wouldn't do any good because the owner didn't speak English. We have lived in Murphys for 13 years. We often have friends and family visit and we like to take them out for dinner. Rest assured that we will never eat at Toscano's again. read more

My husband and I went to dinner here the food was incredible. The staff was polite and efficient. It was very hot so we ended up having to sit outside. The air was a little stifling. All they had was a swamp cooler blowing directly at you while you tried to eat. A little frustrating but the food was worth it. We definitely will go back. The food is still good, the waiter polite and the setting ok. But the staff needs to get the rules straight. Once we ate there with a table of eight and the waitress was happy to break the bill up for the four couple (we asked ahead of time). Then tonight the waiter said our table of six would just have to figure it out, no exceptions, which was complicated and required a calculator. He did not offer to check, just said six must have a single check, which was new to all of us who had been there before. Most places have a rule for eight. There were two tables of eight on the porch, and the noise level was such (with piped in music making it worse) that we could barely hear each other. There must be a way to dampen the noise. The food, was good. Lasangna, Caesar Salad with chicken, depatchio, and salmon. The place is expensive, but if you get a salad with meat garnish it is reasonable. Wine choices seem limited for a town with 20 plus wineries. I still like it, and will go back, but they need to figure out the rules, and the noise. Hope they are not slipping. read more

The atmosphere was really cute, we loved the outdoor patio. The service was great, the waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious, good portion size. Our cupboards were short on breakfast items this morning and so we thought to try Toscano's. Great service and nice selection of breakfast offerings including the Delicate Toast. I switched the whole wheat toast to sourdough and eggs over easy. Wasn't aware that I would end up with two eggs. A lot of food for the price. My husband enjoyed his two eggs, sausage and hash browns as well. Great to have another breakfast option in town! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Haven't been to this place for years thought I would take my family there and it was terrible. We were a family of 5 food was very small portions covered in sauce, tasted terrible with limited options and it was very expensive. They added on a 20% large party fee for 2 adults, 3 teens of 30.00 plus tip. It came to 210.00+ for lunch! How crazy is that! We should've just went to Murpheys hotel restaurant instead for that price because at least the food is good. We won't be back! It was very disappointing. read more

We traveled from Angels' Camp to try out this Italian Restaurant. The staff is very friendly and still sat us even though we did not know we needed a reservation. Water and bread came very quickly to the table. I had the Chicken Parmesan which was not bad but was on the dry side. It comes with veggies of the day and mashed potatoes. I asked to change it to a pasta and was told it was a $7.00 up charge. All said the mashed potato and veggies were good even though I am not a mashed potato person. It was a little busy and we only saw our waitress once as she seemed more interested in other tables which she visited a number of times. It is a little pricey but if you really want Italian food you probasbly find worse places to go. read more

Tried Toscano's for the first time, loved it. We sat outside in a great atmosphere with good weather. Chicken Parmigiana was delicious and my wife loved her shrimp scampi. Well worth the short drive from Arnold! We'll definitely return! Staff was great as well! read more

We ate at Toscanos last Sunday night. All four of us ordered a different entree: Poulo Alfredo, chicken marsala, shrimp scampi and chicken over spaghetti with red curry sauce. We all rated our meals a 10. The portions were large and after also having the small ceasar salads, we took home leftovers. The servers relplemished our bread and water regularly. The only negatives are that our server never introduced himself; after being seated 15 minutes, we had to ask for menus. And lastly we had to ask for the wine we ordered. We will definitely go back. We went there for breakfast. My husband's omelette was good. I ordered the 2 eggs and hash brown potatoes. I specifically said that I wanted my eggs over hard "not runny". Most places close at 8 or 8:30 in this area, while Toscano is open to 9:30 on Friday/Saturday. Their late hours, prices, and menu led us here. Toscano's service was very supportive of my guest's mobility needs, friendly, attentive, and not overbearing. The waitress explained they've been open for two weeks and were working out kinks. Our salmon was cooked perfectly for our unusual request. The Caesar salad needs more flavor. Local wine selection was perfect for our preference in big reds. The bread and spread were tasteful. Indoors was a bit noisy, but that is the rule rather than the exception these days. Definitely recommend. read more

I do not recommend coming to this establishment. Our servers name was Morgan; iv never been gas light by a server before tonight but here is our experience. After about 50 minutes of our food not coming out Morgan came and told us it should be done soon. (Remember this) We were out of waters, wine and bread. 10 minutes later I ask someone else to grab us some refills and to see if she can check on our order. About 5 minutes later Morgan tells us that due to the power outage our order was never sent to the back so after over an hour of waiting she finally get our order to the kitchen. This means when Morgan told us our food was almost done that was a lie and she never actually checked with the kitchen or she would habe known they didnt have our order. During most of this waiting period we were left with minimal service or checked on. We finally got our food after about 1.5hrs. Our food felt very thrown together. We immediately asked for our checks because the entire experience took so long. When I got the bill I saw it had a gradituity added, white normally I have absolutely no issue with but our experience thus far had been horrid and we didn't actually get much service. I asked Morgan if the gratuity could be removed. Her response was revolting. She immediately started gaslighting. She told us our food wasn't forgotten about, it just takes that long. Literally the opposite of what she said happened. She told us we didn't have a reservation (which we didn't we had other plans but the food smelled good while walking by so we popped in to see if we could get a table and cancel our order plans). Because we didn't have a reservation didn't make us less of a customer. She then proceeded to get very rude instead of understanding. She said and I quote "Well have you even ever been to Murphys before" in a very degrading tone. Insinuating that I don't how things are done around here and I'm lucky we even got a table to begin with so the fact they forgot about our food shouldn't be a big deal. The entire exchange was shocking. There was an immense lack of customer service and respect. There was a sheer lack of professionalism within this establishment. We were extremely nice and understanding with the unfortunate situation but we didn't deserve to be spoken to in that manner. read more

Left much of the Murphys Grille art inside...ambiance is very nice. Added more tables to patio and dining room, so it seems a little cramped. Was excited to try it based on all the reviews. Server and bussers very attentive. Good...two out of four were well cooked and presented, ribeye and chicken saltimbocca. Not so good... very dry sliced chicken on the olive oil spaghetti dish, and unfortunately, the worst shrimp scampi our guest has ever had. The dish came out nearly 10 minutes after the other three. The sauce was thin, like a warmed up half-n-half with handfuls of mozzarella thrown in, which turned into stringy cheese. No lemon flavor as advertised, and not blended nor tossed with the pasta and shrimp to bring out flavors and cover the pasta. Should have returned it to the kitchen. Maybe a different chef on Sunday nights? All other reviews have been very good. Will we return? Absolutely, we need to support our local businesses. We look forward to trying dinner again, and wish Toscano's much success. read more
