Very laid back vibe with cheap drinks & good wings. We came on a game night, and it wasn't packed at all.

Came here twice in the summer. Once in the evening. Once for brunch on a Saturday. Wasn't too crowded. Really terrific service both times from different servers. Menu was done well for a brunch with a $20 all you can drink option. Didn't love the eggs Benedict. Was a bit bland - unsalted. The wings were exceptional though. Prices were fair. Ambiance was above par especially for this area. Side note: I used to come by for the previous bar that used to be in this spot. It's nothing like it. I just moved to the Bronx six months ago, I think this is my favorite pub. I don't get there nearly as much as I would like, but the food is great, the Guinness is lovely, they have a nice selection of cocktails, and the staff is top notch and friendly. I came here on Thursday night after running the 5k in Van Courtlandt Park. I must say the service was amazing and the food was also good. I ate the Bronx cheeseburger with cheese and bacon. I also had the Cuban mule which was really good. My friends had the vegetarian burgers which they said was really good. I do plan to come back and try other dishes. Really nice bar across from Van Cortlandt Park. It's in the Bronx by a few blocks, super close to the Yonkers border. I've been planning on visiting for sometime, and a nice early Saturday seemed perfect. It's a nice bar with some tables, a few TVs at the bar and a couple on the walls. The bartender was awesome. Very personable and attentive. Drink selection was great. They had a bunch of cocktails to chose from, I of course grabbed a nice cold Yuengling. The food was on point. They had these jalapeño dumplings, when I found out it was basically a popper in a dumpling shell, I was sold. They came in a bullet tray, covered in melted cheese, with a sour cream dip. Absolutely delicious. Next I ordered the Bx Breakfast Burger. It was bacon, egg and cheese on a burger served with a hash brown. They use those fast food type ones, like McDonald's has. I said screw it and put that on the burger too. It was phenomenal. Great place to hang out. I can't wait to return. read more

Ordered from this place from the park across the street. Veggie burger, amazing. 2 beef burgers, off the hook. Macaroni and cheese, to die for and the curry chicken fries, unimaginable. Came here really excited to eat their gluten free burger and when it came time to order, they couldn't really make a gf burger. The option was to use Romaine lettuce in place of bread. The Korean BBQ wings were a winner. So delicious and good portions for the price. The garlic Parmesan wings lacked crunch and could've used more sauce and just overall flavor. I do appreciate that the menu offers options for everyone. They also have a pretty good happy hour, I ordered a margarita and it was up to par for $6. The waitress was very attentive and the environment was nice. This place has been renovated and it's very clean. It could've used some diverse music though. read more

I've been to the Tortoise & Hare many times but this is my first review. I came in on the 4th of July and it was slow, but my service, food and beer was delicious. I had the Bodega Sandwich that came with fries and two cold beers - a Captain Lawrence IPA and a Coney Island Merman IPA. Orederd from the park, food was ready in 15, beer was nice and cold, shrimp tacos were off the hook (net) and kids devoured chicken fingers/fries. My only disappoinment was I forgot I added a side of guac but noticed it after I scuffed down the tacos. I will return! read more

Quite possibly the most underwhelmingly and unsatisfying brunch I have ever had. In a city allegedly known for great brunches, two small poached eggs, a sad-ass hash brown from a box, and a salad (wtf, who wants salad at 11 am??) doesn't really cut it. They tout poached eggs like they are somehow unique (they are not) and mine came contaminated with little turds of the most sickly-sweet pulled pork (I'm assuming from a can). My one star goes to the nice bartender dude who was affable and smiling. I hope he can find a new place to work soon. read more

OMG. I LOVED this place!!! Came on a weekday in the evening. The environment surprised me. From the outside it doesn't look very appealing, but the inside is very nice!! This is my favorite local bar in Riverdale! They offer a variety of flavors for wings which is always a plus. Additionally, they have vegetarian/vegan options which is amazing and not something you see at small bars. They also have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays where you and friends can partake in bottomless mimosas (they have other options too) because who doesn't love a boozy brunch?! My boyfriend and I try to come here at least once a week because not only is their food great, but the service is extraordinary. From the staff to the owner, Anthony, they are all kind, respectful, and make you feel welcomed. Anthony caters to everyone who walks into his restaurant which once again is amazing and I wish you could see this more at other local bars. Came here for brunch a few weeks ago and had a great time! We got there around 11:30 on a saturday and it was not too crowded. The menu had a lot of options! I had nutella toast that was really good. The hash browns were also really good! The bottomless drinks are a really good deal. If you plan on getting more than 2 drinks it is more economical to do the bottomless. Some of the best food you will get in the Bronx with unreal service. All of the dumplings are to die for, and the chicken sandwiches and burgers hit the spot. What's not to love about this place?
