Me & my family have given these guys way too many chances to redeem themselves.. One time I ordered chopped cheese and received a chicken bone in side of my sandwich.. Today I ordered milk and they give me 2 WEEKS EXPIRED OLD .

We had such a lovely experience this evening with Metro Gourmet Deli. When I looked them up on Yelp, the lackluster reviews seriously shocked me!! They were so accommodating, they made my sandwiches hot as requested. I ordered a classic bologna sandwich with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. It was an amazing portion of meat, I only wish they added more cheese to even it out! The Bbq chicken panini was something my boyfriend really liked, especially with the cheddar cheese; again, wishing they added more cheese. Their Peanut Butter Banana smoothie was so delicious and a wonderful treat after our meal. We shared it because it was also so filling. Overall, an amazing experience and we will definitely be returning customers! Thank you!

It's That Fresh

Plank looking flooring and shelves are neatly stacked with bagged chips/snacks. Clean cashier area and prepared foods (ready to be heated) are by the glass counter. If you're coming in for a Salad, all you do is pick out your choice of mixed greens, Spinach or plain lettuce, select from the myriad of skillfully sorted veggie/protein toppings then let someone mix it all in. And if it's a sandwich you want, deli meats are all lined up- staple for any bodega. Right past the Metropolitan Oval in Parkchester, this deli lives up to its 'Gourmet' name- I feel. Since I was in the area, I actually came to see if these guys made Falafel with the works. While I was told "no", I didn't want to leave empty-handed and settled for 2 salads. Guys are pleasant, plus my mom and I enjoyed our salads. I'm picky about delis but Metro Gourmet is undoubtably clean.

I finally stopped in and checked out The Healthy Kitchen. Originally came across THK on Uber Eats…read more While in the area one Saturday morning , I decided to place an order for pick-up. Once alerted that my order was ready, I pulled up and grabbed a metered spot right in front. As I entered, the shop it was empty but the staff was busy working on online orders in the open kitchen. Seating is available at a couple tables and counter top. I grabbed a seat as I waited because my order wasn't actually complete. Staff was pleasant but clearly behind on orders. Once completed I grabbed my order and headed out. I went with the #5. Breezin- strawberry, pineapple, peach, w/ orange juice base and I added banana. Overall a local spot offering healthy options on the go. Just A Note: They are on Uber Eats but they also offer online ordering and you can get 15% off your first order when ordering directly from them.

For drinks, I had the Legally Blonde with oranges, lemon, pineapple, and ginger root. It tasted healthy and not too sweet. I personally wished I tasted more ginger in it. She had the Crush with apple, lemon, orange, peach, pineapple, and a ginger shot. Hers had the ginger and flavors mine was lacking. I went with the Captain Jack wrap with an impossible burger as the protein, vegan mozzarella, sweet potato french fries, lettuce, and bbq sauce. This wrap blew my mind. As soon as I pulled it apart the cheese just stretched across both wraps. The i.possi ke burger and sweet potato fries blended beautifully, and it had just the right amount bbq sauce to not feel over-saturated. I highly recommend it.

Fresh Take On Life Juice Bar (may or may not have been related to the now defunct 'Fresh Take')…read moreblended their way into this narrow Juice bar/cafe in the Morris Park area of The BX not long ago. This place might've been something else (?)- but Theresa and the rest of the folks are here now bringing a healthy fare of juices, smoothies, salads, wraps and quinoa dishes. There's really something for every eating lifestyle and you may not go wrong. As for protein, there's chicken, (canned) tuna, turkey breast and lamb- this last one was nice to see in a Juice bar/cafe. And as for pork, don't think it's offered. I'd ask first how are proteins prepped- especially the turkey breast because you could be getting the real deal or deli cut. My sisters and I actually wrapped up with lunch next door and all we wanted were fresh pressed juices to round out our day- and turned out fantastic. The space has some seating if you want to stay put or just grab your items and go. Among the hospitals and the auto body shops in the area, coming here was refreshing in more ways than one- plus service was warm and friendly. You're not getting bottled juices sitting in the fridge for days on end- these are fresh-pressed on the spot- which I appreciate.

She took our orders - there were two other employees who were making our juices. Fresh Take on Life has a good amount of seating. What drew my attention was a "nook" against the wall; which seemed like a cozy spot to enjoy a juice, smoothie, or meal. They have a wide selection of juice and smoothie options; however, you can also choose your vegetables and fruits. They had a hot food section and were serving different types of quinoa, chicken breast, and steamed vegetables (everything looked delicious.) Overall, do stop by at Fresh Take on Life. Excellent customer service and the juices were delicious and refreshing.

Went to the mall yesterday and decided to stop by Ugly Dumpling to dine in…read more It was busy but not too busy because I was seated right away. I asked for a booth because I had a few bags, they had one available near the back. I sat at table 77. I was close to the bathroom (not too close where you can see who is in and out). I was able to leave my shopping bags (covered under my coat) to rush the bathroom. It's visible to others would have been aware if I got jacked lol. I ordered a Diet Pepsi with lemon. Sipped on that for awhile and decided to order the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. It was REALLY good. I added some chili oil (already on the tables). I ordered to go the cheesecake with fortune cookies. When i arrived home I realized the fortune cookies were on the side so I smashed them up into crumbles and put on top of the cheesecake. I enjoyed that. Ugly Dumpling is a nice spot to dine after your trip to the mall. They are located a few steps away from the mall entrance. Try em!

While walking around the Bay plaza Mall, we noticed this restaurant and since I'm always craving…read moreChinese food, I was immediately game. Food: 3.5/5 We decided to go big and ordered four dishes to start: * Beef noodle soup * Sesame noodles * Pork & shrimp spicy wontons (no soup) * Pork soup dumplings The sesame noodles were the biggest surprise of the night. The portion was massive (almost the size of the beef noodle soup), super flavorful, and only around $8, which honestly felt like a steal. I would 100% order this again. My husband loved the beef noodle soup. The portion was generous, with plenty of noodles and lots of beef tendon. If you're someone who enjoys tendon, this is a solid. The spicy wontons were... fine. I won't lie -- they were pretty mid. When I hear "spicy" in Chinese food, I'm expecting more Sichuan-style heat, but this was very mild, more like light chili oil. Definitely not for anyone looking for real spicy/辣的菜. The soup dumplings weren't bad either. I've had better in Flushing and Elmhurst, but these were decent. I did find them a little salty, and the wrapper was thicker than I usually prefer, but overall still enjoyable. We also added the beef stir-fried noodles at the last minute to try another noodle option, and honestly... I really didn't like them. They were extremely oily and smelled a little off. I couldn't finish them. That said, our server (Shenxing) was incredibly kind and offered to replace the dish, but we were already too full to swap it. Service & Vibe:5/5 Service was genuinely great. We were seated immediately despite how busy it was, and our server was attentive and thoughtful, especially with offering to exchange the dish we didn't like. The vibe is casual, busy, and family-friendly. You could tell this place is popular with families and younger people who want a solid meal without spending a ton. Being inside the mall also makes it super convenient. All in all, our bill before tip was around $70 for five dishes and two teas, which honestly shocked me in the best way. It's rare to leave a restaurant in New York this full without spending way more. I totally get why this place is popular. While not everything hit, the sesame noodles and beef noodle soup alone make it worth coming back for. Overall, really glad I tried it.
