All were pretty tasty but the pork belly and the fish were the standouts. I appreciate that the menu points out that these tacos are small (about 3 bites) which is great if you want to try a variety. But I do think for the price, the tacos were just a little too small. There also might've been some miscommunication between my party and the restaurant as we were told we could occupy the whole front patio space when the reservation was made. However on the day of, as my team arrived, we were told we can only stay where our tables were officially reserved and not block other customer tables. Totally valid and understandable, we did have about 11 people gathered around, but we would've never intentionally crowded around those tables if we had known so it was a bit of a mood killer. Overall, a solid spot for decent tacos if you're okay with splurging a bit.

All in, it came to around $200. The guacamole is a real standout. The camote asado (charred sweet potatoes) is my favorite - great char, well-seasoned. The lemon rice that comes with the fish was also great. One genuinely great thing about this place: everything is gluten-free, which makes it an easy pick whenever family visits since a few of them can't do gluten. That said, I'm personally a big flour-tortilla person, so if that's your preference too, just know this isn't that, but I still really enjoy coming here regardless. The service felt like casual fine dining, in the best sense. I really appreciated this. The happy hour menu is small but mighty. One thing I was intrigued by before coming here was that the corn is flown in from Mexico, celebrating and providing a cultural experience. I'm so grateful that they delivered on the oral experience with the balance in flavor, texture, and spice. No one ingredient overpowered the dishes service, and even the spice was there, but not to a miserable level that often leaves me suffering as I eat my food. I had the sopes de picadillo and the taco de puesto. Seriously a glorious meal. I wish I was hungrier so I could try more. Because of my work schedule, I couldn't return back during my trip, but I wish I had the chance. I would definitely make it a priority to dine here again if afforded the chance to return to Boulder!

While they were personally taking orders from other customers, we were told to use the kiosk, despite the restaurant not even being busy. To make matters worse, our friends waited 45 minutes for their food after ours had already come out. When I politely went up to ask about their order, the employees responded with eye rolls, head shaking, and a dismissive attitude. They couldn't even give us an approximate wait time and acted as though we were inconveniencing them simply by asking. We eventually spoke with the owner's mother, who was genuinely very kind and understanding, and I appreciated how she handled the situation. Unfortunately, while we were explaining our experience to her, the same employees we were complaining about us and were laughing behind the counter, showing absolutely no professionalism or respect. One employee even interrupted our conversation with the owner's mother, insisting that she needed to speak with her immediately. The most disappointing part wasn't even the ridiculous wait time. It was the complete lack of respect, accountability, and basic customer service. Mistakes and delays happen, and we would have been understanding if the employees had shown even the slightest bit of kindness. Instead, we were met with attitude and disrespect at every opportunity. I truly hope the owner addresses this behavior because no paying customer deserves to be treated this way. The owner's mother was the only positive part of an otherwise extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place based on how we were treated, and I certainly won't be returning.

If you want a taco covered with a bathtub portion of cheese, then Torchy's may be the place for you. We were fortunate to have a couple offer us their two seats at the bar almost immediately after entering while the line of patrons reached out to the door. We both ordered two tacos each and after waiting 30 minutes, we decided to order queso to hold us over. We then waited an additional 25 minutes for our four tacos to arrive. The tacos were bland, loaded with cheese and lettuce, and simply had too many ingredients piled on top. We couldn't even eat more than a bite of the fried avocado taco due to it being an unpalatable, mushy, rancid taco. This place is on par with Taco Bell. If you want real Mexican food in Boulder, try Cilantro Mexican Restaurant in North Boulder. Next time, provide patrons with free chips and salsa or chips and queso if it takes close to an hour to receive food from a "fast-casual" chain. read more

I ordered the mole enchiladas: one cheese, one chicken. It came with refried beans and rice with a pretty sliced section of avocado. The enchiladas were yummy, the mole rich and with just enough spice for me. The rice and beans were meh, just OK. My husband ordered the chimichanga, and he is very particular about his chimichangas. I had a bite, and the beef was yummy. It was crunchy like he likes, but he thought it could have been more so. Like I said, he's picky. It doesn't come with sour cream and guacamole. We had to pay extra, but the servings were small. Still, he ate it all, and I'm guessing he'll want one again there. It was close enough to the way he likes. Everyone does this dish differently, and most places leave it mushy. This was crisp, so a big plus for that. When we received the bill, we expected the extra for the guac and sour cream, but there was also an extra charge for the beef! We clearly saw the choice of chicken or beef for $14 on the menu, so I called over the server, and she got the owner. He apologized, but it was hard to understand. It seemed the beef was supposed to cost more, but that's not what's on the menu. He credited us double what the mistake was for some reason. So, at least they acknowledged the error and made it right.
